I come up to the Yellowstone area as often as I can to unplug, so I fully appreciate that there is no cell service, no radio or TV signals (apart from satellite), and very limited & slow Wi-Fi due to the remoteness of this location. So, if you’re coming up here expecting all that tech to work like it does in the big city, in my humble opinion, you’re not coming up here for the right reasons. That said, they do have satellite TV and Wi-Fi available at the hotel, but bear in mind because of the remote location, the WiFi is likely through DSL with limited bandwidth, so if you’re trying to get stuff done on your phone during busy morning hours when ALL the other guests are planning their days in and around the park, you’re likely to be disappointed. If you wait until a little later when most folks are out & about, you’ll get a much better Wi-Fi signal. It is what it is. You’re out in the sticks here in beautiful country. Not the fault of the hotel here. Also, there is no AC in the hotel, but I am of Scandinavian heritage and prefer leaving the window open all night, which is very pleasant thanks to the cooler nighttime temperatures in the area. You can also request a box fan from the front desk and they will happily loan you one for your room. There is plenty of morning coffee & juice, hot chocolate, and a few continental breakfast selections in the lobby (cereals, packaged muffins & pastries, instant oatmeal, breads for toast, etc.). If you’re looking for breakfast with a bit more protein options, there are a few restaurants near the hotel in both Cooke City and Silver Gate just a short walk or drive on the Beartooth Highway. This is our second year staying here in September, and both visits have been very happy and pleasant thanks to the great staff. April & Dave are the BEST. I casually mentioned when confirming my reservation that this was a birthday trip for me, and they left us a lovely card & several gifts (including a peanut butter bear treat for my service dog), which I found in my room upon checking in. Super kind & thoughtful people like them just make a vacation like this that much more special! Can’t beat the views, either! Such a beautiful area.

Staff at checkin was nice. Room was clean. Bed & pillows were comfortable. We were in room 211... which is a little hard to find because it's not in numerical order with the rest of the rooms. The toilet was probably one of the loudest I've ever heard. Wifi was very weak... which may just be the area... which is very bad for any kind of communication. Breakfast was the best we've seen on our current trip. 3rd Super 8 in a row with no elevator. Wyndham is trying to kill us old folks.

Hotel was clean. Beds were comfortable. Management was accommodating. Breakfast was simple but nice. We rented a UTV for a trail ride. Cooke City was a nice little town a few miles from Lumar Valley where we were lucky enough to see numerous herds of buffalo.

Don't let the outside fool you. the inside is modern, clean, comfortable, and quiet. Some have complained about the lack of AC, but we found the ceiling fan more than adequate. Nice variety for breakfast on the 4th of July weekend. We will return!

We stayed one night as a stop during our visit to Yellowstone. The northern part of the park has amazing Mountain View’s and to drive through the Lamar Valley is a treat- like all of the areas of this special NP. The town of Cooke City is very small - so options for accommodations and dining when we were there over Memorial Day weekend were limited. This was a nice hotel - nothing fancy. Room was spacious for the 3 of us. It was clean. Beds were comfy. The only negative we had was the room was hot. We had the window open all night to see if the mountain air could cool it down. Did not happen. Outside was a large like generator that would go off through the night. Our view of the mountain and town from the 3rd floor was very pretty. We did not have phone reception in the room/town - so grateful for the WiFi reception. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel - we loved the Bearclaw next door for yummy and fast breakfast. The hotel also have a few recommendations for dinner - the Milner (I believe is the name) was great!
