I found the tiny duplex cabins we stayed in to be adequate but unexceptional. Someone has added midcentury decor in effort to make them more upscale but it doesn't really work. They have much the same amenities as other Xanterra hotels in the Park -...More
These cabins are in a great location off Going to Sun Road, with no highway noise and a short drive to Logan Pass. The bed and bath areas are very clean, and there is a coffee maker and fan. They also have a little restaurant....More
Where do I begin? The cabins and motel style rooms are rustic and super cute! They were perfect for what we were looking for (we had to check out and check back in mid-week as we had made reservations too late in the season). The...More
I stayed for two nights here in early July.
My cabin looked like it had been renovated recently and although still kind of rustic, it was "new" rustic and was really very nice inside for a small cabin.
Check in was a breeze and the...More
We had two nights in one of the rooms set back from the shop/restaurant area and found it to be spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed was great and the room well decorated. The bathroom was a little small but again perfectly adequate.

The cabin I stayed in was a double cabin...2 rooms per building. There were no chairs outside and the porch was not large enough to accommodate chairs if someone wanted to go inside the cabin. Our view from the front was the dirt road and the back was full of trees. We could hear the river but couldn't see it due to the thickness of the trees!

The speed limit on the Sun road is low. It depends on how much you are familiar with driving on mountain roads and your comfort level. I'd say it's about the same as driving to Mariposa at Yosemite and a little better than the road to Hurricane ridge. The road is wide enough for a sedan IMP. The area close to the rising sun goes around the cliff at st MARY lake. Try look at google map/earth to see for yourself. You can always take the shuttle or join the red bus tour, especially the secret valley tour to two Medicine it is quite nice and only takes half a day. The road to many glacier is fine and has no major drop offs. If your goal is to hike at many glacier, just remember it is about 40 min away. If you'd want to visit lake McDonald valley, it is quite a drive away and you may want to find a place over west glacier.
