Fort Benton is a wonderful little town with a lot of Montana history. The Grand Union Hotel has been lovingly restored to it's former glory. Our hotel room was so very clean and this is properly the first time I've said this of a hotel -- it smelled so clean! We had dinner there as well and the food, service...

We love visiting this magnificently and tastefully restored hotel with a fine restaurant in historic Fort Benton, Montana. We return regularly, even in the off season, just for another dose of their hospitality. The restaurant doesn't serve every night during the off season so check if you are traveling at that time of year.

Enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel. Comfortable bed, separate sitting area, friendly staff. Had a room overlooking the river, bridge and park. Convenient to Lewis and Clark exhibit along the banks of the Missouri

Enjoyed our stay. This hotel got us started on seeking out other historic hotels. We had supper on the patio alongside the Missouri River. Our room was on the back of the hotel overlooking the river. No more expensive than a featureless Travel Lodge overlooking the freeway. We have now stayed in half a dozen historic hotels, but the Grand...

This hotel is more than 130 years and has been renovated and remodeled multiple times. The hotel maintains is charm, just remember that everything is OLD. Dinner in the restaurant was very good; a bit pricy and service was not fast. The "free breakfast" in the morning was very lame.

We chose the Grand Union as the place to celebrate our 36th anniversary and we were not disappointed. Our room on the top floor had a great view of the river and was quiet. There was a small sofa in the room making it comfortable to relax in without sitting on the bed. Dinner was very nice with attentive wait...

This lovely old grand dame of a hotel bears little resemblance to modern, box-like structures. Was my first hotel-stay on a multi-day cross-country adventure and definitely set a high bar. It was a pleasure to relax into an era of by-gone luxury. A sweeping walnut staircase led up to the second floor - the banister polished smooth by several generations...

This refurbished hotel played a significant role in the 1880's in Fort Benton on the Missouri River. Totally updated, it retains the grandeur of its early days from the vintage check-in desk, to the hardwood floors and up the beautiful staircase. We made a special trip to Fort Benton just to stay at the Grand Union.

Only got to stay one night, but what a treat. The Grand Union was nicely renovated (read - not overly done with too many antiques and lacy curtains) to capture the elegance of the hotel back in the day. Rooms and bed were comfortable and inviting (be sure and ask for a room with a view of the river. The...

I stayed here prior to a Missouri River canoe trip and loved it! The hotel is beautifully renovated and keeps the historical aspects well maintained. The restaurant is great, and the stay really gives you a feel for fort benton!
