Excellent location ( we're on our way to Glacier) on the Missouri. A great agricultural museum, Fort Benton, river walk and ice cream within walking distance. No cell service and wifi a bit spotty but doable, good bed and great restaurant. Have the ribeye!

Built in 1882, when Fort Benton was THE place to be in Montana. Renovated since then, but still with older decor. Located on the river walk, very central. Best rooms view the Missouri River from the front or left side. Get a top (third or possibly second) floor river view room--or stay in another town. Other rooms have no good...

Always a comfortable stay in an impeccably restored 1880's environment. Excellent Service. Was a little disappointed in the Breakfast during my last stay, ran out of coffee, pastries etc. -- which is out of character for this establishment. Great Value when you compare the comfort and amenities to any larger upscale chain.

I first stayed here six years ago on my way to Calgary with my family.....and loved it. Six years later it is still great. Fort Benton is a small town in the middle of nowhere on the banks of the Missouri and well worth a visit. The Grand Union is a classic historical Montana hotel with a properly good restaurant....

What an awesome hotel. The staff was most attentive. The food at the restaurant was absolutely amazing. Can't wait to go back again. My sister, my cousin, and I stayed here for a night. We really had a great time. Thank you.

Like going back in time! A small town with an amazing history. The Master Suite at the Grand Union was simply stunning, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The restaurant was amazing (where else are you going to find Emu Tartare?). Highly recommended!

We stayed in the Master Suite, with three large windows looking out onto the Missouri river. Breathtaking view at all times of the day, but maybe most beautiful in the evening when the lights from the bridge are reflected in the water. We stayed in nice hotels during this road trip, but could have fit any two of those rooms...

A friend of mine and I did a road trip and we managed to get a reservation at this hotel. We both love old buildings and this was just a wonderful place to stay. You really seem to step back in time when you walk in the front door. Staff was very pleasant and the setting of being right on...

You don't stop at a hotel like this for modern conveniences. Instead, you stop to marvel at the restoration of this 19th century marvel. As interpretive signs along the river explain, this was as far as steamships could travel up the Missouri River. It was about as lawless as you can imagine. One sign referred to a block of Main...

What a beautiful historic hotel. Just like walking back in time. As we checked in, the front desk clerk gave us a brief history of Fort Benton including showing us the huge front room in the hotel where people in the wild old west days would sit and watch the wild and rowdy cowboys riding their horses on the main...
