Hotel's Favourite
Absolutely a beautiful resort with well-designed landscape and rooms. The amenities in the room were perfect (love the fact that they have a praying mat, Quran, a clear direction for kiblat and an iron!). The view from the room (deluxe corner room with sea view) was absolutely gorgeous and the resort was attentive to our room request. The pool was stunningly designed and the relatively shallow depth (1.2m) made it a lot safer for kids and adults to swim together. Food was super delicious especially the breakfasts (must try the Nyonya kari Laksa), in-room dining (wide selections of kids menu) as well as the seafood shell out at Sea Fire Seasalt. Not to forget the Lunar New Year buffet with steamed seabass with chilli lime sauce. All were very flavorful and cooked with the highest quality ingredients. The staffs especially Yana and Thiravanan really made our stay extra special with warm services and attentiveness. Highly recommended for a family holiday. Would definitely come back again!…

A relatively new resort and so everything felt very new and clean. Rooms are generally big and spacious, and I especially loved the bathrooms. Separate shower (that has a seat) and bath tub with some very lovely amenities (including bath salts). They also gave our daughter kids bath amenities when we requested for it and it was in a super cute pouch with a super cute sponge. We reached early, just slightly before check-in time but had to wait 2-3 hours for our room to be ready. Was quite bummed but service was generally good. They gave us a complimentary high tea set while waiting. And the food was delicious. Food in general was quite good. The breakfast spread was amazing, one of my all-time favourites. The spread, variety, quality and service were outstanding. I only rated it 4 instead of 5 because of 1) one incident with a staff who gave very sub par service and nearly ruined the entire experience for us at the beginning of the stay, and 2) the very average facilities. The kids club is very basic and there’s no playground at the resort. The security at the kids club is also very lax so I wouldn’t leave my kid there alone. The pool was also on the smaller side - maybe because there’s a water park nearby but I was expecting a bit more wet play areas for kids.…

Beautiful beach resort with nature feels. Clear room with very soft and comfortable bed. Friendly staff and good service. Resort offer free activities like Birds watching, Evening Nature walks, Yoga by the beach... It's really a good choice for a short trip for couple and family. We will come back again.

I know this is a little late coming since I stayed in August 2023 and where I had a private birthday celebration with 50 of my loved ones and friends at the resort. This is not my first time staying with the Anantara Desaru Coast Resort and Spa. I returned and decided to celebrate my special day because my last stay at this fabulous property early this year in February to celebrate a quiet birthday for my partner was an awesome one. From the infra-structure to the staff to the food. So, this time I won't write about the resort as I found no flaws (yet). We booked one bed villa. On our 2nd day we found out there were no water coming into the villa. We have to call the front desk, the hotel did not bother to update the guest on the issue. On the 3rd day, there were still no water! We were very sad that we have planned this trip and we need to leave because there were no water! Water did come back, but we wasn’t going to take any risk by staying for another day.

Dear LisaHuang22 Greetings from Anantara Desaru. First and foremost, I want to thank you for having chosen our resort for your recent beach holiday here in Desaru. I greatly appreciate you have shared your experiences with us following your rather disappointing stay. I sincerely apologise that this very unfortunate and unforeseeable situation has unfolded the way it did, and you were not able to enjoy your well-deserved vacation as one would expect when visiting our resort or any other Anantara Hotel & Resort. I can reassure you that the situation when it occurred was looking very promising that it can be addressed very quickly. Our regular maintenance service for the water pump has taken place at the exact same time in another location in the resort and we were able to have the service team addressing this situation very quick. As a matter of fact, all pumps and pipes were all working very well, it was actually an electrical error leading to the system to trip and it took us more time to find the actual root cause. I personally was present with the contractor and our engineering team to see for myself what is the issue to see what further actions can be taken. When the system was again working and the resort had water about 2.5 hours after the first time we detected the error, we experienced another trip about 2 hours later which took us longer to rectify. We had to make some additional arrangements for the guest as an option and only then were able to communicate the guest the various options. We have been able to stabilize the situation and take additional preventive measurements to prevent a similar situation in the future. I fully agree that this isolated incident has been very disruptive to your holiday you came for and that we could have communicated earlier about the situation and different options for our guests. We have the team reaching out to you directly to address your experiences personally. Once again, please accept our sincere apologies for this particular situation. We do hope that we have another opportunity welcoming you back so you can enjoy the resort, facilities and the service we are known for. This resort have a nice sea view. Every morning waking up to the view of the sea. The resort is spacious, gives a relaxing feeling. The staff are friendly and pro active. The pools are nice and the room is spacious and comfortable.
