The El Cortez Tower rooms are a little old but they are spacious and the view of the strip from the 14th floor is excellent. The bathrooms are smaller but they have great shower pressure. They also have a nice gym at the Cabana Suites...More
We make a point of visiting The El Cortez every time we're in Vegas. Its a short walj off of The Fremont Street Experience. They offer a monthly drink special and the slots are VERY friendly. Great mix of old & new games. You really...More
Tobacco smoke coming into the "non-smoking" rooms from the casino below, a slot machine that ate my money and jammed and no one showed up to fix it, and a maintenance crew yelling, dropping equipment onto the floor, and swearing while fixing a leak in...More
Whatever it was, it was fine. We had a vintage room. Certainly had personality. The room was fairly large and comfortable. Decorations were undoubtedly note-worthy. The AC needed a refurbished, very noisy. The bathroom could use a remodeling, as well. The room door was old-styled,...More
The was my first time staying off the strip. I chose the hotel because it had a reputation of being where the locals would go and I was not disappointed. The room was decent, food was excellent. I enjoyed the prime rib at Siegal's Restaurant...More

The El cortez has a small workout room on the second floor. You simply walk up the stairs from the main casino and you can find it no problem. There is also a yoga studio a few blocks away on Charleston. However it is best to catch a cab. You would have to walk through a bit of a rough neighborhood. The place is called "Blue Sky Yoga" There is also a place on Main street A block or two further away called Sin City Yoga. Hope this helps.

The EL COrtez is a fun, decent place at a reasonable price. No pool. Just 1/2 block from the Fremont St. Experience which is really something when the sun goes down. Bands, individual musicians, all kinds of shops and casinos in close range. For an elegant dinner, contact the restaurant on the top floor of Binions. One of the nicest in Vegas and easy to get to. Great view from the giant glass windows. Check out the top saxaphonest in the nation in the middle of the street on Fremont. He is unbelievable and plays at the biggest jazz concerts in the world.
