Yes, great value, huge rooms that were very comfortable. We had 4 rooms on the 9th floor all with lovely views front and back. All quiet. The only minor drawback as far as being woken up was that the doors are difficult to close properly and people tend to slam them... at all hours. Yes, the tower rooms are a...

I'm a regular and as a senior I'm value conscious. You just can't beat the El Cortez - My vintage room was right at the end of the corridor looking onto Fremont street and it was surprisingly quiet considering all the street traffic and the Container Park across the street. For $26 all in, it's the best value in town....

Great location for the Fremont Street Experience and Container Park! However, the room was NOISY - between the noise from the Container Park and the other hotel guests, we slept very little. We didn't get the room we reserved, and now I know why: nobody who values sleep and peace and quiet should stay on the 5th floor (room 5664)....

We do apologize for the noise you encountered during your stay. The night clubs/Container Park are allowed by the City to play music, and attract customers via other means until early morning hours. We did forward your comments to our Food/Beverage Director to alert him concerning your complaint about the cocktail waitresses. We do appreciate your comments.

Stayed for three days in one of the Cabana Suites (not a "Junior Suite). If this was the "big" suite, I would hate to see how small the Junior Suite was. Slightly larger than a normal hotel room but basically not much area to work, just the bed and a small credenza. Very disappointed. In addition the elevator is SLOW....

We are currently working with our elevator company to get the door operating properly. The entire cabana suite building is nonsmoking, making it nice for the nonsmokers. The cabana suites are a boutique suite rather than a large luxury suit.

I stayed here a few nights earlier this February. It was my second time at the El Cortez. What truly sets this place apart from the rest is the genuine hospitality of the staff. Not to mention, much looser slots...low limit table games and a great cafe with delicious food! Have stayed in both tower and Cabana Suites...both nice and...

Just got back from a stay at the El Cortez..... if we went back to Vegas we would stay here again. But we are not really "Vegas Party Types"... had to go once... but that's probably it. Built in the 60's, this hotel has probably undergone renovations, but it still has the "old" feel and decor. Check-in and check-out were...

Thank you for you review. We do try to keep the old vintage Vegas feeling and still maintain the property. The tower has been recently received the new upgrades with the refrigerator and flat screen tv. The Fremont east entertainment district does have a wide variety of restaurants and lounges for guests to enjoy.

Stayed at El Cortez for 4 days, Feb. 17 - 21. Agree with Trip Advisor poster from room 1408. Nice accommodations, large, spacious room with 2 queen beds. Room was quiet, away from Fremont St. noise. All rooms non-smoking. Received upgrade from Pavillion room on check in. Room made up daily. Fun book on check in includes $5.00 meal credit....

We stayed in room 1408 in the Tower. This room was very large, and clean. King size bed, wall mounted flat screen tv, a sitting area with a love seat overlooking downtown, a fantastic view morning and evening! Large bathroom with a separate vanity and closet area. I've spent lots of time in LasVegas over the past 15 years but somehow never made it to The El Cortez until now...sweet deals on Hotwire & Expedia convinced me to give it a try. Yeah, it's old and dated in an 80 's kind of way...but the price is right! The Tower rooms are pretty tired but well maintained...

Thank you for your comments. The balcony is pure decor. We have tried to keep the old vintage Vegas feel at the El Cortez. While maintaining the property, and giving a quality product. We do apologize for the problem you encountered at the Cabana Suites.

Nice hotel, don't expect all the bells and whistles of the strip joints, but it serves the purpose of being a clean place to stay. It is walking distance from the Fremont street experience and very safe. Armed guards constantly monitor the parking garage and outside the property.

Thank you for your recent comments. The tower rooms are nice rooms and provide more room and amenities than the pavilion and vintage rooms. Security is always important to our guests and we do want to make our customers feel comfortable.
