Stayed at El Cortez for 4 days, Feb. 17 - 21. Agree with Trip Advisor poster from room 1408. Nice accommodations, large, spacious room with 2 queen beds. Room was quiet, away from Fremont St. noise. All rooms non-smoking. Received upgrade from Pavillion room on check in. Room made up daily. Fun book on check in includes $5.00 meal credit....

We stayed in room 1408 in the Tower. This room was very large, and clean. King size bed, wall mounted flat screen tv, a sitting area with a love seat overlooking downtown, a fantastic view morning and evening! Large bathroom with a separate vanity and closet area. This is the kind of room we could stay in for a very...

I've spent lots of time in LasVegas over the past 15 years but somehow never made it to The El Cortez until now...sweet deals on Hotwire & Expedia convinced me to give it a try. Yeah, it's old and dated in an 80 's kind of way...but the price is right! The Tower rooms are pretty tired but well maintained...

Thank you for your comments. The balcony is pure decor. We have tried to keep the old vintage Vegas feel at the El Cortez. While maintaining the property, and giving a quality product. We do apologize for the problem you encountered at the Cabana Suites.

Nice hotel, don't expect all the bells and whistles of the strip joints, but it serves the purpose of being a clean place to stay. It is walking distance from the Fremont street experience and very safe. Armed guards constantly monitor the parking garage and outside the property.

Thank you for your recent comments. The tower rooms are nice rooms and provide more room and amenities than the pavilion and vintage rooms. Security is always important to our guests and we do want to make our customers feel comfortable.

I have stayed at the El Cortez once before and was in one of the older rooms above the casino and that is what I booked this stay as well. Got upgraded to the tower, and had a nice room on the 11th floor. Room was big and clean. Casino was fine. Not a ton of people in it, but...

The El Cortez Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada was a pleasant surprise for me given the price. Normally I travel on a budget no matter where I go, and this time I chose well. I checked in and departed during the first week of February, 2014. The airport was busier than usual and the long ride via shuttle-bus...

Have stayed there many times in the past. I called this morning to make a reservation for my upcoming trip and was informed that they are now charging a resort fee. It isn't even a resort - they don't even have a pool. I will be staying elsewhere on this trip!

Stayed at the El Cortez for two nights in mid January with a couple friends. Got a sweet deal direct for a 2 queen room in the Tower for just $25 a night after taxes. It's true what they say, the rooms here are very nice. Heck, even one of the friends I was with thought the room rate was...

Every year we leave the conference on the strip and check into the El Cortez for a few days to decompress. We stay in the Pavillion (over parking garage) because we enjoy the fresh air and view.
