The pyramid at Luxor Resort in Las Vegas, with its beam of light, provides a striking visual even on the overtly glamorous Las Vegas Strip. One of the most recognizable structures in Las Vegas, the 30-story pyramid – an architectural wonder – invites curiosity, while the inside rewards visitors with equal parts excitement, mystery and intrigue.

We took a trip for my husband’s birthday, we checked in which went great but when we arrived at our room in tower we started to unpack, turned the tv on lord and behold it was not WORKING no internet connection, this happened to us on my birthday trip in April the water went out, so at the time we were so upset, we like everything perfect on our stays so after walking back to front desk because no one answered the phone. We had to change rooms . We went back to gather our things and met Dennis Jones from engineering who turned our frowns into smiles his from his conversation down to his demeanor and understanding! we love coming to the Luxor out of all the hotels on strip because of the great customer service experience! To the owner please keep hiring people like Dennis Jones that make a Difference!!

Hotel's Favourite
Everything from the Vip Lounge Service, Housekeeping, Engineer Service, Limo Drivers to the Casino/Hotel Front Desk Representatives were truly Outstanding! The Suite was clean, the temperature was great and the beds and other furniture were comfortable. We loved all the plump pillows as well. When we called about an issue with the television volume it was fixed within the hour. Check in was a breeze and I checked out utilizing the television without any issues and dropped out room keys into the drop box in the elevator lobby. Location for us was not an issue as we used the tram for other strip locations and called an Uber and spent a day downtown. I really had nothing to complain about.

Luxor is quite a distance away from the main hotels but can be travelled through to reach Excalibur and Mandalay Bay internally. The rooms were huge spacious and clean. The casino is a little tired and outdated but then again this hotel is one of the low/mid range ones. We felt there wasn’t enough drinks servers whilst playing in the casino - compared to the others that had so many, There is a wide choice of food and eateries to choose from, and shops inside to purchase goods however you find things much cheaper on the strip from Walgreens/ CVS/Target. Check in is the worst the ques are huge, and is not the best if you have come off a long flight. The receptionists are very good and welcoming and happy to accommodate your needs. We were a party of 10 and had a few issues with our stay. Claudia at reception was excellent she listened to everything we had to say and said let me fix this. Absolutely astounding customer service from this very friendly and helpful lady.

I had some issues with my TV and some room lighting when I checked in and Dennis Jones from Facilities Engineering was awesome, fixing everything quickly. He was very friendly and helpful! When he was finished, he gave us some great recommendations for things to do both in the casino and in greater Las Vegas.

This place is not a four star rating. No fridge, or hot drink making equipment . Not even drinking glasses in the room. Furnishings and decor have seen better days. Travelodge will offer better facilities for less money. The whole experience is designed to extract you from your money with minimum input. The tourist charge of 38 dollars per room per night is offensive. There is nothing elegant about the the bars and eateries apart from the prices. 13 dollars plus tax for a pint of Guinness in a grubby environment. On a previous visit to LV we stayed at the MGM Grand. A far better experience.

The Luxor is a nice hotel but was in need of some attention. The A/C in our room was extremely cold and would not adjust, other than that room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

The Luxor is a very cool hotel, but not the best in the area (below The Delano and Mandalay Bay Resort). It’s in a pyramid shape and has Egyptian themes. It is limited in restaurant options and has a few shops. As a result, the Luxor is more dead during the week days (wasn’t here during the weekend). The Luxor has some events- such as comedy shows and is home to the Titanic exhibit. The rooms are very spacious and the Kind bed is large. The bathroom has a shower but no bath tub (there’s a bath tub at The Delano nearby). They provide soap and conditioning shampoo. I think the set up with the elevators is confusing and not properly signed. I would have thought that you could get to your room in any elevator, but that it may just be a longer walk. No, instead you have to make sure to take a picture of your paper folder your hotel key is in (they don’t earn you of this). My elevator was 3B and it’s hard to find behind the West Elevator. The East & West Elevator signs are well-signed but the 3A, 3B, 4A, and 4B elevators have poor, hidden signage. To make the process easier, they should list the room numbers under the sign. They should also change the names of the elevators so that are all themed (Ex. East, West, North, South, etc) versus some are East/West and some are numbers and letters. I didn’t have my paper with my elevator with me and it took me 1.5 hours to find my room after going up elevators and only having access to certain rooms and having trouble finding the 3B elevator. The elevators can be more dingy and need a remodel. Luxor is better than the Excalibur (very strong smoke smell) and the Rio. It is worse than the Cosmopolitan hotel. The Luxor is close to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center but still a walk so I recommend staying at The Delano or Mandalay Bay Resort if you are here for work. Until the signage is fixed, I would never consider staying here again. If The Delano or Mandalay Bay Resort were booked up, I would try a further away hotel instead of going back to Luxor.

I stayed at the Luxor hotel in Las Vegas. The staff were friendly, although they were always trying to sell you a trip or experience, which could be a bit overwhelming. The hotel is situated at the end of the Las Vegas strip, but it's well positioned, and it's not a long walk to other hotels and casinos. However, the interior of the hotel felt outdated and tired, lacking in modern amenities/shops etc. On the positive side, the rooms were a good size, very clean, and had comfortable beds. There was also a good-sized pool available for guests, although daybeds and cabanas were overpriced if you wanted to purchase them. The drinks at the pool bar were outrageously priced, so I would recommend sticking to water to save some money or spend in the casino 😝

First time to Vegas, and I was so excited to gamble. I am currently staying on the 17th floor at the Luxor, and have been here since my birthday on Monday. Upon arrival we immediately went to get an MGM loyalty card to use at the slots, so we could earn rewards, like you do at every other casino in the world. We were greeted at the cashier window by a grumpy lady who explained the system was down, and nobody can get loyalty cards. She looked at us like we were idiots for not knowing what was going on. Over the next several days we went back multiple times to check the status of the loyalty cards and if we could get one, and each time were told we could not. We opted to play the slots without the MGM loyalty cards, and proceeded to lose well over $2,000 in 3 days. You would spin the machine 20 or 30 times and never hit for anything. It felt like a complete ripoff. The machines are sucking up cash and paying nothing. More than once we got down to a couple dollars and tried to cash out, and the machine would say it required a hand payout. And more than once we waited more that 25 minutes for someone to arrive to pay it out. This was very annoying and inconvenient. While waiting, we were offered bar drinks, and let me just say the vodka cranberry was just cranberry, and disgusting. The waitresses bringing the drinks appeared to be the same women sleeping out on the sidewalk in front of the establishment and looked like they hadn’t showered in days. Carrot Top, who I must say was surprisingly hilarious, also looked as if he had been sleeping out on the street. His hair looked as if it hadn’t been washed in weeks and was matted to the back of his head. He looked very strung out and bragged about his drug use, and drank on stage. If someone cares about Carrot Top, they should get the poor man into rehab. We wanted to see the Blue Man Group, but don’t get confused, the people offering vouchers in the lobby to see them will sell you the tickets for $15 each, if you walk through a one hour time share demonstration first. The hotel shouldn’t let these blood suckers through the door. We went to the box office to purchase the tickets, and surprise, even though the last 24 hours they have claimed to be operating normally, it’s a lie, they only take cash because the credit card system is down?!? Walk next door to Mandalay Bay, and hundreds of their slot machines are also all down, despite advertising in the news they are working. The elevators feel like death traps, but I am being told that is normal and it’s always been that way. I have been in hotel management for over 20 years, I have replaced and refurbished Otis elevators. It is expensive, very expensive, but it can and needs to be done at the Luxor. Every morning of our stay we were waken up at 9am by the sound of gunshots, which actually turned out to be construction in the lobby. Every night at 9pm and various points of the evening we also heard what sounded like gunshots, which after numerous complaints were finally advised it was a laundry shoot adjacent to our room. When you turn on the tv the channels all appeared to be static, and looks like they are from an antenna and not cable?!? There appeared to be more options for porn than anything else. We just left the TV off. All of the pros seemed to be outweighed by cons. The spacious shower and great water pressure was nice until you look up to black mold on the ceiling. The free parking was wide open, but appeared to be a back door entry point for drug dealers and prostitutes. All of the food was really good, but for $10 per slice of pizza or hot dog was absurd. In the end we got the tickets for Blue Man, at the front desk for free after complaining, but were willing to pay and could not. Lastly, in the middle of the dessert, in an Egyptian themed hotel, there is a titanic exhibit. I’m guessing whoever put together this grand idea must have been hanging out with Carrot Top until the wee hours of the night. Management is failing at MGM at all levels. I would look elsewhere in Vegas for a place to stay, particularly if it’s your first time. Luxor and MGM are a massive disappointment.
