Where do i begin when describing this place. You can't even call this a hotel, because its beyond that, its an experience, and it's an experience I'm glad i took. I organised to bring my Son and younger brother to Las Vegas for their 21st,...More

Staying in the Lofts is unlike any other experience for a hotel stay. The feeling was that I was staying in a home, being the 2 story layout. The steam shower was unexpected and much appreciated due to the intentional walking that I was doing...More

I see booking direct, at the moment, 1 BR Loft $5586 (but my Platinum Tier discount becomes $4190),
Booking direct 2 BR Loft $9986 (but my tier discount becomes $7490).
I personally, would book if it really was important, and then check back later for price drops, since I would look for price drop at these rates. But if there is a special event at that time, then it may not get better.
This is before taxes.
AAA members get 10% discount on the standard pricing.
Your dates include a weekend, so it will be higher than weekdays.

The Skylofts is a hotel within a hotel at the MGM Grand. It occupies the top two floors (29 and 30) of the MGM Grand Tower. You still need to use the MGM valet, walkthrough the lobby, and use the MGM elevators to get to the Skylofts. Being a guest of Skylofts feels very different than being a guest in the regular part of MGM. You check in at the VIP Lounge (the gold doors next to invited guest check in), you need a Skyloft key card to access the 29th floor, and aside from using the pool or gamble, you don't really need to leave the floor as everything can be brought to you including food from almost all MGM Grand restaurants, with the exception of Joel Robuchon. You can even have the butlers (more like really good concierges than butlers though) go out and get you food, clothing, or almost anything from anywhere in Vegas (a charge for this might apply).
If you are looking to do your trip on the cheap, then Skylofts isn't for you. I've never upgraded into one at check-in, I've simply booked them directly. If you are expected some $20 or even $100 "trick" will work, it won't. If you want to stay at Skylofts, the cheapest I have seen for a 1 Bedroom Loft is $750 a night plus tax and resort fee. On top of that you should tip the butlers.
The best part of staying at Skylofts though isn't the Loft itself, it is that you can dine in the Estate Dining Room at the Mansion, which is a completely separate hotel behind MGM. The Mansion is to Skylofts, what Skylofts is to a regular room at MGM. The service is far beyond that of Skylofts, then again, so is the price. These Mansions start at $5,000 a night and no they will not let you upgrade into one.
I would recommend that you make sure to book at least a Grand room and not the West Wing if you decide to stay at MGM. A cheap upgrade would be to the Executive King or Queen suite depending on how many beds you need.
MGM has a great variety of restaurants, bars, and pools. I think you will enjoy it. Just don't book the West Wing rooms.
