Love the newly renovated guest rooms on the 18th floor! Firm beds, lots of pillows, gorgeous bathroom esp the walk-in shower. Great amenities esp the body lotion. Quiet A/C. Fridge, but no micro, no coffee maker, and no free wifi. The window shutters perfectly shut out the sunlight. Great room; great front desk; great maintenance (we had to call about...

Stayed 4 nights on the 18th floor and the rooms are great. Like the new showers and the temperature controls. No smoke smell and everything seems so fresh. Great improvement. Would appreciate free wifi.

Stayed overnight at the California Hotel in downtown Las Vegas on 11-15-16. We had a remodeled room that was clean and comfortable complete with safe and refrigerator. Ate at the Market street cafe and found the food tasty, service fast and an overall good value. The remodeled sports book was awesome, easiest the best downtown. I will stay here again...

I'm sure we would've enjoyed the breakfast buffet had we not showed up 10 minutes before the buffet had been broken down. With that said, the breakfast was "ono!" My husband kept complimenting the ham & gravy for the biscuits. I enjoyed the portugese sausage. (They just need to cut it down more, it's VERY big pieces. LOL) Other than...

Our room was clean, the beds comfortable and had all the basics. The hotel shows its age in the details....the toilet ran (a leaky flapper) and one of the lights over the sink was burned out. To be fair, we didn't report these issues until check out so can't say if they would have been taken care of. The toilet...

California hotel is where my family and I always stay when we go to Las Vegas. We're local from Hawaii and downtown Vegas is a home away from home. You'll see lots of Hawaiian people and feel the aloha spirit through out the casino. Also a very good authentic Hawaiian restaurant in the hotel on the second floor. The breakfast...

The California hotel was a good and affordable room for what we were there for. It's conveniently located a block from Freemont Street. The rooms were nice and clean and the property has a few restaurants that were good and affordable.

80% of this hotel/casino customers are from Hawaii; the vibe is mellow and relaxing. Although with recent renovations adding a sports book lounge area - it does get loud and noisy during gametime! Food in the cafe includes a lot of dishes that the Hawaii people are used to eating "back home". Rooms are clean and inexpensive, and all employees...

This is our favourite of all Vegas restaurants, the menu is varied and easy to maneuver, the wait staff jovial and efficient, the salad bar is replenished constantly, for something deliciously different, try some Hawaiian specialties like the Kalua pork dish with rice.

Wow - what an amazing transformation! We go to a reunion at the Cali every fall. This year, and I have no idea when they accomplished this, the casino was beautifully renovated. New chairs, new tables, convenient and comfortable Sports Book. Same friendly, helpful staff, but furnishings are updated. There was nothing *wrong* with the casino previously, but it was...
