After finding this pub on an off chance all I can say is what a find!! Good reasonbly priced food, a fantastic choice of beer and wine (and I mean fantastic!), lovely garden and a great family own it. The only way to improve is may jazz the web site up so it attracts more people! The family deserve to... More

Had lunch here yesterday... Was visiting my sister who lives near by and usually would go to The Five Bells for a nice lunch... After hearing how new owners sour and miserable and seeing this for myself we all descended on the horns lodge instead. What a breath of fresh air! Fabulous good fabulous service they managed to get all... More

We needed a pub to accommodate 14 people for a birthday meal after Ladies Day at Plumpton. My husband contacted Nigel at the pub in advance. He was friendly and helpful and set aside a long table in the restaurant. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The men were happy as Harvey's beer on tap. There was a good... More

I have been drinking at The Horns Lodge for 22 years. An old fashioned pub, a bit dog-eared and with some very odd interior design, but great beer and a proper local. I think there have been four landlords in that time, the current landlord is still relatively new and I popped in for a pint (the Horns serves probably... More

Basic menu now but some good 'specials' on the board. Go on most Mondays as it is the only pub in the Chailey/Newick area doing food on that day. A lot of refugees from The King's Head which is many peoples local around here but which seems to have given up the ghost for months now and no-one seems to... More

We stopped here for lunch on Sunday as we just happened to be passing, so hadn't reserved a table. The menu offers smaller options, which is great so we opted for burger and chilli con carne. Both the food and the beer was good and to be recommended. It would appear there is a new management team just taken over.... More

Whilst staying at a Bed and Breakfast in Newick, I came across this pleasant pub where I ordered a two course meal. The service was friendly and I did not have to wait long for the food to arrive (1st course # breaded mushrooms and main course # scampi). The meal was well cooked and tasty. The pub had a... More

Have been going to this pub a few times a year for 20 years and it is wonderful. Proper country pub with great owners and staff. Friendly unhurried service, excellent range of drinks and a delicious hearty food. Dogs and families welcome inside, open fire for the winter, traditional and local historic pub games to while away the time. Located... More

I visited this pub last week with a group of elderly people with various needs. The staff were very helpful and the service was good. As this was the first time this group had been to Horns Lodge I asked if they would go again - YES!!! they all replied.
