The lodge is set way back from the main road so there is absolutely no traffic sound. The room was huge, the bathroom large. The bed was extremely comfortable, with a feather-bed under a padded topper so you sink right in. They provided a pair of super comfortable bathrobes as well. The view from the back porch was pretty. The...

We have just spent 2 nights here. The room and the bed were very comfortable and the view was amazing. We really enjoyed the breakfasts and the home made cookies. Michael and Carol were excellent hosts, informative and welcoming.

My husband and I spent two nights at Bear Mountain Lodge. We were in the area to do some hiking and thought this would be a convenient location. We were greeted by Michael who gave us a tour and showed us our room. We stayed in the Whitetail room. The room was described perfectly on the website so it was...

My husband and I just came back from another fantastic visit at the Bear Mountain Lodge (stayed September 29th and 30th). We've been so many times, I've lost count..this may have been visit #7 or 8, and it was just as amazing as always! If you are looking for a luxurious and peaceful place to stay in the White Mountains,...

Our visit was the week of September 4th. We stayed in the Wild Turkey room and used this as our "base of operations" to enjoy the sights and adventures in Northern New Hampshire. When we arrived, Carol met us at the door and showed us around the property. We were delighted when we saw our room. It was HUGE and...

The couple who run it are lovely. It is set in a beautifully wooded area. The breakfast is phenomenal and we would love to come back soon. It's near Mount Washington and other natural attractions. One thing to keep in mind is that the restaurants close by do close on the earlier side and check in ends at 9pm.

Thanks for the kind words about me and Michael and the breakfasts - we try hard to make all guests feel welcome so they can relax and enjoy their stay. One of the reasons we chose this piece of property was it's proximity in the White Mountains to Mt. Washington - guests can easily get to The Cog Railway for...

We stayed at Bear Mountain for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the property. The house, and hosts, are warm and welcoming and we found the accommodations to be very comfortable. We loved the 8:30-9:30 breakfast option. It seems most bed and breakfast facilities have a set breakfast time (ie. everyone at the table at 9am) and we loved the more...

Thanks Ash for your wonderful review - it was great having you and your husband stay with us. I'm so happy that you enjoyed our local restaurants - we may be a small town but we've got some awesome chefs in the area who know how to do it right and work hard to take care of all the visitors...

The place is beautiful and impeccable. Very clean, very eco-friendly and very secluded. I went with a friend but the place is really better for romance and for couples as advertised. Our room - Eagle's Nest - was perfect: the sheets, the bed, the jaccuzzi , the view.. everything was wonderful. However I would not go there again but that...

Thanks Marlyn for the review. When Michael and I designed the Lodge we had a vision of a quiet, romantic log cabin set back in the woods where couples could get away from it all. So I can certainly appreciate that the romantic touches such as the in-room jacuzzi for two and hot tub under the stars are probably lost...

After almost a week of intense searching through the New England area, I finally found the spot/location that was perfect for our weekend getaway to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Going up the road, after a longer than expected drive, due to traffic, Bear Mountain Lodge had me at "hello." The location and views are fantastic. The premises are beautiful. The...

Thanks for the 4-star review, we really appreciate you taking the time to let us know you enjoyed it as well as any issues you experienced - we really take them into account to improve the Lodge. I'm sorry that guests were up early dragging the chairs on the deck - no matter what signage I've put up some people...

The lodge is in a fantastic location and has amazing views. However for the price (over $300) it needs to give more. The room was good, the towels in the room were certainly not luxurious same applies also to the pillows. Our main disappointment was in the breakfast, the sample menu seems to suggest some gastromomic delight. it wasn't. You...

Yeah - 18 of the last 19 reviews have been 5 star. So we're always surprised when we get a 3 star (only has happened a few times in over a decade) and we then take the time to look at the guests and their visit to see where we can improve or if it's just this guest we couldn't...
