Let just start by saying, the picture on the website do not reflect what this place looks like. This place is a dump. Also there should be a disclaimer stating that there are people who live there full time. Who were loud and obnoxious, swearing acting like animals. Now about our room, I have been to real bad place but this has to be the worst, my room looked something you would see on a crime show. And I believe that there might have been blood on the corner of the box spring. The door was smudged with what looked like grease, rugs have never been cleaned. My son rented another room there and there were bugs on his floor and his door would work. The only positive thing was when my family and I asked for a refund the guy at checkout didn’t seem surprised. And didn’t even question us as to why. Suggestion: DAY INN OR WHOEVER OWN THIS PLACE SHOULD SHUT IT DOWN.

This place is disgusting. It is old and neglected. The carpet was terribly stained, doors and walls were covered in smudges and fingerprints, and the pillow smelled like sour milk. The curtain was falling off the rail, the desk chair was peeling fake leather everywhere, and none of the lights worked until I hunted around and found that I had to plug them in first. What appeared to be housekeeping employees were loud and dropping the f-bomb. The no smoking signs were a joke. It's just gross, gross, gross. The only saving grace here was the courtesy of the front desk staff.

Dear Guest, It is with great disappointment I read your review. I do thank you for bringing these issues to my attention. I am fully aware the building is showing its age and we do have a plans in the coming future to revitalize the property and make the necessary repairs and upgrades it needs and deserves. The behavior of my housekeeping staff is inexcusable however and I will be addressing this immediately.

Upon arriving at the hotel we learned that the pool was closed, and indoor swimming was the main reason we were booking the hotel, as it's all my girls wanted to do! The front desk attendant was extremely helpful and understanding. He cancelled our reservation and even helped us find a local hotel with an indoor pool that was open. I really appreciated his help, and my girls had fabulous time swimming at the new hotel. An initial disappointment turned out great due to his help. Give that man a raise! Once the pool is open we will definitely come back to stay!

Always read the reviews of where I visit and for this place (i.e. negative reviews) I really am amazed... I stay here often, as I do quite a bit of work in the Dover area and the MOST ideal credit to the Days Inn is it's located downtown Dover where you are within walking distance to many restaurants, sports bars, breweries, etc... Amtrak is about two blocks away, grocery market next door, laundry facilities about a block away, I needn't go on (look at the local map!). The facility is a bit 'old' but the rooms are clean, beds comfortable, bathrooms clean and in working order and their most noteworthy credit (to me) has to be the staff. Polite, always go out of their way to assist and it amazes me with such a small staff, they get everything done (and truly work with you if you would like an early check-in/late check-out. Doors are NOT PAPER THIN unless whom ever wrote that review uses 2" thick metal! Yes, some room open to the outside (covered walkway) but pool-side room are all inside the building (you can choose BTW). Opening to the outside, you do hear people talking as they walk by but I've always attributed that to being outside. I think when inside a building, most people seem to talk quietly ('inside voices'). Their is an area outside by the parking lot to accommodate smokers but in the many years/times I've stayed here, very seldom have I seen people loitering in the parking lot (proper) - most exceptions are workers who are staying overnight and they have equipped trucks. NEVER have I been approached by a stranger and see no reason to arm myself in the area. Often, during my stays, if I step out for some fresh air (I do not smoke) I have seen, on occasion, the Dover Police drive through the parking lot and have always attributed this to 'routine patrolling' as they would do the the parking lot by the little strip mall next door, etc. As I mentioned the staff - I'm confident (although never having a reason to do so) that if a neighbor was noisy where I could not sleep, I am confident if I called the front desk they would have immediately looked into the situation and rectified it if necessary. Great facility. Superb staff. Great assortment for breakfast. Definitely recommend to friends, family and whomever.... I did stay during the COVID time so the front desk was closed from 10pm-6am but there was a phone number available.

The service and staff were amazing as always. I would like to see a little more low carb / no carb friendly choices for breakfast. However, we love the place and will stay again.. Do miss the hot tub though.
