We needed to stay in the area due to an early morning soccer game and stumbled on the Exeter Inn. Booked a room via a travel site without too much expectations. Since it was just my son and I, I asked for an extra bed to be put in the room when we checked in. The receptionist was very helpful...

The hotel is in the middle of town and walking distance to Exeter Academy. Very friendly service and clean rooms. The restaurant on site was excellent for lunch and dinner. If you are in the area, it is only option worth it.

The staff here is very friendly. Came here for dinner. Bar is very nice and wasn't too busy. Atmosphere inside was warm and inviting as well. Didn't stay in the hotel but did talk to someone that said they were staying there and said they loved their room so next time I am in the area will book here instead...

I have had the opportunity to stay at the Exeter Inn a few times recently. The lobby is wonderful, trimmed in oak and has old world ambience that chain hotels wish they could emulate. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the bathrooms are on par with the most expensive suites in Las Vegas casinos, I love their shower stalls...

The Exeter Inn is a beautiful old hotel with quaint rooms and a great restaurant. Good food and bar. Friendly staff. Ate both dinner and breakfast there. Traveled and stayed for business but would go back for a couples weekend to explore the local area and Portsmouth.

We stayed for one night in room 203. Everything and everyone associated with the stay was just excellent. Great people, great service, great room!! Our room was very nicely appointed and had one of The most comfortable that we have ever slept in. Shower was excellent (can't say that for 90% of hotels you stay in). We only had breakfast,...

We celebrated my wife's 40th birthday at The Exeter Inn because it is one of our favorite places in town. The food is always great and the service is excellent. Derek and Jason at the bar always go out their way to make us feel special. We had 50 guests at the birthday party. Laura Sterrit, Director of Sales and...

Our daughter goes to school at PEA and we always love staying at the Exeter Inn when visiting her. The staff is super friendly and the restaurant is amazing. The all day complimentary coffee and hot tea is also a nice touch. As are the bedside cookies each night! We will definitely be back.

Booked a post holiday party at The Exeter Inn in the Exeter Room for a party of about 18. Working with the coordinator was good, but the set up when we got there was not correct. The quickly offered me another room or to fix the set up to which they corrected into one large table. The area was decorated...

This is an old school building (literally) I think it belonged to Phillips Exeter Academy, and may not be leased to the hotel. The restaurant is quite good: certainly one of the best in town. The bar is also a great place to have a drink. The rooms are comfortable, but older and some of them are pretty small. Still,...
