Great hosts, beautiful and cozy inn, delicious breakfast. The hosts were very knowledgeable of the area and were very helpful with the skiing options in the region as well as nearby dining recommendations.

Clean, authentic and welcoming is how I'd describe our stay. Much attention to detail is evident throughout the inn, from the wide variety of area specific reading material to the brandy decanter on the stair landing. Stacy, Doug and Katie (adorable hound) continuously demonstrated their dedication to ensuring that all guests were comfortable and aware of all area amenities. The...

A nice gem of an Inn. The rooms are well appointed and immaculately clean. The innkeepers are friendly, welcoming and want to do whatever is needed to make your stay enjoyable. Even if you don't stay there you should try the restaurant for dinner. The food is amazing and the service is great. Both the Inn and the restaurant are...

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Horse & Hound. Stacey, the innkeeper, was extremely polite and attentive and the inn was charming and filled with thoughtful details like complementary brandy, roaring fires, and a lovely sitting room filled with jazzy music. We were 5 minutes from Cannon Mountain for our ski weekend, but we both would...

Four words: you must stay here! My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night--which wasn't nearly long enough--and we did not want to leave! We were welcomed by an adorable pup, Katy, and Stacy. He gave us a tour of the Inn, which has an absolutely beautiful library with coffee, tea, games and plenty of reading materials. We then...

My husband and I stayed at the Horse and Hound last weekend for a short weekend getaway and what an amazing experience. We were immediately greeted by their little dog Katie and were showed around the inn and taken to our room. What a beautiful place. While the inn is old they have done a wonderful job with the upkeep....

My boyfriend and I stayed at Horse & Hound on a trip up to Cannon Mountain for some skiing and had the greatest experience! The hosts were helpful and friendly, giving us ski tips and other advice. We chose to dine at the inn as well, and the food was delicious. Atmosphere at the inn is very cozy with multiple...

The Horse & Hound only gets better with time! Back again for a winter getaway after 2 years, the hospitality, accommodations, dining, and quintessential New England small inn atmosphere continues to be without rival. Unsurpassed quality makes the Horse & Hound one of our favorite homes away from home!

My husband and I wanted to spend New Year's eve in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. We chose the Horse and Hound Inn based on the great reviews that we read on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed! The Inn is absolutely lovely. It is elegant in a refined 1940's mountain chic style. The library is beautiful, filled with antiques,...

Just had a marvelous three night stay at this cozy bed and breakfast. Everything about this place shouts relaxation. From the moment Katie( the resident 12 yr old hound) greets you at the front door you know you're in for a treat. The staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful. Warm and cozy with great food and ambiance to spare....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
THE RETURN OF A CLASSIC. The Horse and Hound, located in the rugged White Mountains of New Hampshire, first opened in 1946 as a tasteful inn, tavern and restaurant. With three fireplaces and knotty pine paneling throughout, the inn welcomed everyone from Hollywood stars to local outdoor enthusiasts and quickly established a reputation for great food, elegant lodging and warm hospitality. Now celebrating its 65th anniversary, the Horse and Hound was closed from December 2010 through June 2011 while undergoing a comprehensive restoration to its classic lodge style. Now completed, the cheerful tavern, gracious dining room, elegant lobby, handsome library/lounge, and nine restful guest rooms once again invite you to unwind and relax after an active day in the Great Outdoors. Thank you for your interest and we look forward to welcoming you back. FOOD, SPORT & STEWARDSHIP OF THE GREAT OUTDOORS. ... more   less
