The camp is clean, organized and situated next to absolutely gorgeous trails and scenery. The downside is that it is right next to the freeway, so you hear the traffic all the time. And then there is the bear safety concerns. The extent of the guidelines the manager provided was to tell us not to leave food out, and dishes...

My husband and I camped here for two nights in June. Just like the other reviewers mentioned the noise from the highway was unbearable. The staff at the convince the store was very friendly and helpful. They have quiet hours from 10pm to 7am. The camp ground is very quiet even during non quiet hours. This is a good hub...

Yes there are trucks down shifting but if you spent the day hiking they wont keep you up. We were woken by 1 or 2 per night, it's quick and you're back to sleep. If you want you can sleep with ear plugs but I recommend only one so you can listen for bears. Yes there are bears on the...

Yep, it's noisy -- the trucks run all night on the highway and the sounds travels way up the valley walls. But if you can deal with that (and it isn't really THAT bad), then this is Hiking Central. Awesome trails lead right out of the campground, ranging from flat and easy (and scenic) to moderate, with some exercise involved,...

I'll keep it short, this place is right next to an Interstate and the logging trucks run all night long. If I had to do it all over again I would've stayed in the White Mountain National Forest campgrounds which are no more than 15-20 minutes from here. If you want to experience the outdoors, this ain't the place!!!

Reserved site 90 at Lafayette State Campground. Site was spacious, even and well wooded. Could see other sites around us, but no issues. Bathrooms are right across from site, bit of noise but nothing bothersome. First time camping at a State park, expected very primitive sites etc, but was pleasantly surprised by the campground. Very well stocked and priced camp...

Our group had sites 45 and 47 which are right on the Pemi and close to the store/bathrooms and dumpsters. Decent little campsites but directly on the access road (not set back at all). The river/brook behind the sites was the best part, the kids loved it. The bathrooms were very clean and the camp store had everything you could...

I have been here a few times in recent years and always love camping at the base of Lafayette. There's nothing better than waking up at the trailhead. However, you should be careful about your campsite selection. Some have no privacy at all (15 & 16). The campground has bathrooms, showers, a really nice cabin with all the essentials you...

My husband and I camped in our small tent at Lafayette Campground at the end of August. What this place has going for it is the location. Within 10 minutes the next morning we were at Flume Gorge and successfully beat the crowds for a beautiful and peaceful hike. What you need to know: Lafayette Campground is loud. It's well...

This is a great campground if you are looking for a campground with lots of people around. We stayed in July of 2013 after hiking Mt. Garfield. It is in a beautiful and easily accessible location. The coin-operated showers and bathrooms are well maintained. There is a small store to purchase necessities. We had a pleasant campsite along the Pemigewasset...
