We had a comfortable room, basic but with plenty of amenities. Very friendly and helpful owners. Lodge is right on the river - quite lovely, and close to Franconia Notch State Park. We were there in the Fall so the outdoor pool was closed. Extreme fun if you were there in the summer.

Comfortable and clean motel on the river. The continental Breakfast was basic, but adaquate. Attentive staff. Convenient to many sightseeing areas. The price was a great value for the location and time of year.

For the budget-minded hiker spending the day in nearby Franconia Notch, the Hillwinds Lodge is perfect. The deeper-than-expected swimming pool and walking trails are also great perks. That said, the accommodations are more basic than rustically charming, although the rooms were spotlessly clean! A few extra personal touches would have given this hotel a "4" rating.

Chose this lodge due to it being located between places we were visiting. Having just visited Washington, DC and Boston, we wanted somewhere to relax. This was a great choice. It's a family run business and the owners were extremely friendly and hospitable. Felt like we were a part of their family. The rooms have all the necessary amenities refrigerator,...

The price was reasonable and the room was basic but extremely clean. The bed was a little soft and the chairs were showing wear, but it was not a big deal. The pool is small but nice, and there are other onsite activities like badminton and bean bag toss. We stayed in the second floor river view room (per trip...

When I seen it from the road I was about unsure about the hotel. But when I pulled into the drive (around the other side) it was so beautiful. Very quaint with the white picket fence and lovely landscape. The room was large and the bathroom was huge! The stream in front was very relaxing. The whole stay was amazing!!

If you are exploring Franconia Notch State Park and beyond this is the best place to stay. We stay at the Lodge for a week exploring the park and White Mountains but that is not enough time to do it all. Owners are very friendly and helpful, recommended great restaurants in Littleton ,if you end up eating there you must...

Stayed here for 4 nights in June for the Lupine Festival - was greeted by a very friendly inn keeper/owner. We had booked 2 rooms and they set us up with adjoining rooms, without us asking. Rooms were spacious and clean. Plenty of hot water for long shower/bath. The grounds are really pretty and kept up nicely. We stayed poolside...

We made a stop here half way of our destination. The room was okay for us, it's not luxury but it's clean, you have everything you need. Microwave, fridge, internet access, free parking. Staff were frendly and breakfast included perfect for us.

This place is absolutely lovely! Our family originally arrived to stay one night and we extended it to three nights. Its close to hiking and a sweet little town called Littleton- although Franconia is lovely as well. Drop by Robert Frost's house to catch a poetry reading and hike in Franconia Ridge State Park. Hillwinds lodge has a nice continental...
