A lodge at Pinkham Notch that offers private rooms as well as hostel bunk style rooms. Shared bathrooms were clean but could stand to up the water temps by 5 degrees. On the weekend it became quite noisy with children running through the halls but mid week in winter it felt cozy and homey .... Breakfast was a nice addition....

Joined a group of fellow hikers for a weekend at Joe Dodge Lodge. Overall the stay was good. What we expected. Its shared bathrooms (one Mens and one Womens) on each floor, but the bathrooms were clean, well maintained and I never had to wait. The rooms were basic, but comfortable. The overall layout was well designed. The food at...

Here Spartan simplicity is augmented by honeyed natural pine walls and furniture. The rooms are restful, the beds and bunks are without television or telephones. The bathrooms are down the hall, but the lodge is comfortable and cheery and features a cozy library with a grand fireplace. Personally, I found some rare vintage books on the library shelves that I...

My husband and I stayed here Fri. and Sat. nights Columbus week-end. Fri, was quiet and we thought Sat. would be crowded, but only found it mildly so. He had stayed there years ago and warned me of the sound of boots from early risers on the 2nd floor, but there was very little noise. We had a small but...

My husband and I enjoyed a few nights at Joe Dodge Lodge recently. This was not our first visit so we knew what to expect, but a couple of people we met were surprised by the rustic accommodations. Our first-floor private room was very basic. It had a queen bed, two nightstands with a good reading light on each, a...

The rooms are very nice in a rustic lodge type of style. Extremely clean. If you like peace and quiet however, make sure to visit on weekdays when kids are in school. The walls are thin and the thumping of kids running down the halls and yelling was a bit much when we were there on a Sunday. After that...

We stayed at Joe Dodge Lodge after a long drive, the night before we set off for a stay in one of the White Mountain Huts. We had a family room and were very comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by the one double bed among several bunks. We arrived at 7:45 and were a bit rushed through the buffet dinner,...

It was okay, I slept well and the breakfast was very good, the fact that the trails start right behind the lodge is good too! But, for this price, I could easily slept in Gorham or Glenn in a bigger hôtel room with two double beds, a private bathroom and a TV that I would not have had to share...

I have stayed at Joe Dodge Lodge in the summers of 1996 (twice), 2001, and now 2014 before and after backpacking in the White Mountains of New Hamphsire. They cater to guests with a sense of community of all those who love and respect the wilderness and nature. As it has been a step toward the further challenge of hiking...

Way overpriced for the accommodations provided. Expensive hotel prices, for hostel quality. The shared bathroom / shower areas are overcrowded and untidy. The bedrooms are tiny without closets or dressers. Just a few hooks on the wall. The rooms are very stuffy as there is no air ventilation system. The temperature outside was actually quite cool, but our room was...
