We stayed there for just one night on our way back from Portland to Plymouth, MA on a mini-vacation, and we couldn't be happier with our stay there! Steve went out of his way to make us feel welcome, gave us some killer recommendations about the night life in near by Portsmouth, and the breakfast was phenomenal! We will definitely...

Impressed & pleased with our stay. Rooms are large, impeccably furnished, and sparkling clean. Steve & Julianna (proprietors) are welcoming, warm, and easy-going. While not "fancy gourmet", breakfast was tasty, varied, and solid with fresh fruits, granola, yogurt, eggs, home-style potatoes, ham, toast, and juice. A much quieter place than what you might experience in downtown Portsmouth, yet still very...

This is the fourth visit we have made to New England in the last 4 years. It is was the third time to stay at the 1810 Pickering House B & B. The first time we planned to stay only a couple of days but extended out stay and made it our base for the remainder of our trip. The...

An old fashion host and hostess, this is what you'll find. Sweet and attentive they will make you feel like the world revolves around you. And I sense they genuinely mean it.  The B&B is an a good non-central location that easily allows you to go pretty much anywhere while staying safe at night and not having to worry about...

We have stayed at many B&Bs, and the 1810 Pickering House is surely at the top of the list. The house is lovely and immaculately clean, the location is extremely convenient, and Julia (Steve was away) was the perfect hostess, ably assisted by Alec, who is universally known as The Best Dog and who is highly sensitive to peoples' likes...

We went to Portsmouth with one of our daughters and another couple to see our daughter perform in Cabaret at the Seacoast Repertory Theater. We stayed for two nights and booked two of the three rooms in the inn. It couldn't have been more perfect. The inn is beautiful, charming, laden with artwork, and furnished with lovely antiques and very...

Our annual "old friends" reunion with two other couples was held in Portsmouth this year, and we stayed at the 1810 Pickering House because it was highly recommended online and conveniently located. We can't imagine a more enjoyable B&B experience. The house is historic, but beautifully refurbished, with three lovely guest rooms, and a living room with fireplace and piano...

The location of the Pickering House is ideal as a home base to explore much of New Hampshire, Maine and, of course, Portsmouth and the coast. Highway access is easy and hosts Steve and Julia give excellant directions. The house itself is very comfortable. There is much to look at and admire in the decor and Steve and Julia are...

After a busy week doing business in the Boston area, 1810 Pickering House was the perfect escape! Steve & Julia suggested we attend the Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth, 9 miles away. Once in Portsmouth, parking was easy and we grabbed a quick glass of wine and Lobster Sliders at one of the city's many restaurants. The show was excellent...

I stayed at the 1810 Pickering House while on the road trip home after a week-long vacation in Maine and 3 other Bed & Breakfasts. This experience was by far the best and really captured the essence of a true B&B. Steve and Julia were incredible hosts and went out of their way to provide a comfortable, relaxing and tasty...
