This is an amazing get-away place. Rest, Relax, Recoup your need for country and alone time.... Or bring a bunch of friends and enjoy Kayaking or Canoeing on the upper Connecticut River. Have dinner in town at Stella's Italian. Fabulous....

We were up here for the Stratford Ball and were lucky to obtain a room here for one night. Located down a dark country road flanked by the river, trees, cows and sheep you then see this lovely country home estate. Inn keepers gave us warm welcome. Place is lovely and smoke free. We stayed in room 6 which was large!... More

This was my first time to BOTC and having enjoyed visiting many B&B's in my lifetime and enjoying wonderful meals and welcoming hosts, I was really anticipating my arrival. Unfortunately when I arrived the Innkeepers that are mentioned in the previous reviews have been replaced with a young man who was not at all friendly and very unprofessional. After a... More

After 17 years as an innkeeper and at the age of 70, we are in the process of making the transition to retirement. We have hired an interim innkeeper to assist us in making the change. The interim innkeeper could have handled this situation better but in his defense there are a few omissions in the account: - the guest... More

My husband, sister and I just spent the July 4 weekend at Breakfast on the Connecticut. The King Suite was great for the 3 of us. Be sure to tell them ahead of time if you want the queen sofa made up. We loved using the canoes and kayaks. The breakfasts and hospitality were great. We'd love to return.

A long-time friend and I met at BOTC last week for a 2-night stay. I was here in 2012 with my husband...it's still just as fantastic. The innkeepers know the area well and are a great resource for what to do...and the area is teeming with wonderful things to do for a variety of tastes/interests. One morning, we took the... More

Calling Breakfast On The Connecticut a "B&B" gives one a somewhat limited sense of the place. In my opinion, it exceeds what one expects for a B&B. It is more like a lovely boutique hotel where breakfast is included. Of course, there is no room service or porters to carry your bags but it is lovely and fully kitted out... More

This inn, Breakfast on the Connecticut, is indeed on a hill overlooking the mighty Connecticut River. Because it is not a very old building (though built in a beautiful classic New England colonial style) the guest rooms are large and convenient, as well as being clean and attractive. Comfortable common living rooms, porch, and outdoor hot tub all add to... More

These folks know how to make a large group (7) welcomed and comfortable. Donna's breakfasts were well balanced to a variety of tastes and all were yummy. John and Donna are engaging, informative and down to earth. The extra bonus is Rosie - the inn's dog/rug. The rooms are comfortable ...their layouts take a bit of getting used to... The... More

Stayed here with friends for a ski weekend. I prefer hotels, but enjoyed my stay. The innkeepers are very welcoming with very good ideas for places to visit and eat. The breakfast was very good and it's spacious enough that if you do not like to chat in the morning it's ok. Stayed in the suite rooms and they were... More

I admit it: I like hotels -- and the more stars the better. That's why, until now, I've never stayed in a B&B. But after three days at Breakfast on the Connecticut, I have seen the light. Aside from the stunning location -- and it is beautiful -- the Inn itself is exquisite. It is light and bright -- large,... More
