The Sea Spray is located in a quiet area of Holgate. It is clean, has great staff, and a welcoming vibe. Our room was perfect for myself and my partner. We had an efficiency. We grilled twice, they clean the grills daily. The beach is across the street and the bay is on the other side. I used the pool twice, it's also clean with plenty of loungers and umbrella tables to sit at. They always asked if we needed anything and promptly provided fresh towels and supplies when asked. They are regularly cleaning the grounds so it looks pristine and neat. We came back this year after we experienced this last year and will return for 2 weeks next year. I cannot compliment them enough. Also, within walking distance are bike rentals, food and ice cream. Fantasy island is less then 2 miles away. Trish at the front desk was always ready to help with our questions and requests. We love The Sea Spray❤️😁👍👆😊

The Sea Spray Motel is exactly what my wife and I wanted for our return trip to the Jersey Shore. We were visiting friends for the 4th of July week from our home in South Carolina and their house was just a block away but full with their kids and grandkids. Starting back in November of 2022, when I called to make our four night reservation, I instantly felt that this motel was going to be the right place to stay. Upon arrival in the late afternoon the new manager greeted us at the reception desk with a nice welcome. He helped me out with a couple of computer issues as well. Our room was perfect for a beach motel. It was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. And it was quiet! The staff at this motel was so nice. I found myself chatting away with the ladies at the front desk. The cleaning people were very friendly as well and made sure the room was ready when we returned from the beach. We highly recommend The Sea Spray Motel for a real Jersey Shore Getaway. Thanks to everyone for making this a special trip for us.

We stayed only one night and had a great time at the Sea Spray Hotel. The rooms were very clean.
The pool was amazing except for the different levels(stubbed toes) so you do need to be aware of them. The attached hot tub was added bonus. Water was very clean & heated!
Restaurant was closed on Monday so we bought lunch from The Chegg & ate poolside.
They supplied beach chairs, which we took advantage of & used the convenient water spray to wash off sand as you walk off beach.
We would definitely return but rates will be going up since they are planning a renovation for 2023.
Seems LBI is not a sleepy little island anymore (hasn't been for awhile) but still a great place for family vacations.

I have stayed at this motel 3 years in a row. Every room we have stayed in has been different. The place needs to be updated for the amount of money they ask for a night during the summer. The only reason why we came back was because it’s the only place with a decent size pool. They also need to change their cleaning company. We always have to clean on top of their cleaning. The only one one cleans well there is the man and woman who keep up the grounds. Otherwise there is always mildew by the shower head. We had an efficiency room that had chipped plates and very old stuff!!! One room had wallpaper, one did not and the walls were filthy because they used matte paint. This year we were so fed up and definitely not coming back. We can rent a private house in Florida for cheaper. They also have this new pool attendant who does nothing but NOT mind his own business. They should have put the money into paying a lifeguard, especially with all the children that swim in the pool.

I have stayed in many places on Long Beach Island but none matched the relaxing atmosphere of the Sea Spray Motel. The owners and staff were kind and gracious, the rooms clean, light and airy, the location quiet and proximity to essentials (groceries, pharmacy, restaurants, family activities, shopping) close by. Butch, retired after 22 years in the Navy, is the charming Pool Attendant who kept watch over us- making sure we applied sunblock, keeping strangers away and regaling us with a myriad of interesting stories. Not fancy but solid in every way a home away from home should be- I highly recommend the Sea Spray as a place I plan on returning again and again! :)

I have been going to this hotel for 10+ years. In recent years we’ve seen a decline in Housekeeping and office effectiveness, but we continued to rebook because the location is great. In June I called to shorten my usual 9 day August trip to 7 days. I was assured that my prepaid deposit of $1000+ Would go towards any remaining charges. Upon arrival I discovered that I had been moved to a less desirable room. When I checked my receipt I discovered that although the number of days and room were changed the cost showed no adjustment. I was billed for 9 days. I went to the office and was told only the manager could make the correction and I had to contact him by email. No response was received. I went to the office every day of my “vacation”. A clerk assured me she texted the manager and a credit would be issued. It never was. Sea Spray owes me $476. I have no recourse but to dispute the charge on my credit card. Many regulars were discussing similar problems. The manager made himself scarce. Shame on you Harry! We won’t be back!

I have been a resident of Holgate for 6 years. Unfortunately this year, the beach patrol has not been able to guard all the beaches the week before Labor Day. One of the only guarded beaches in the town is Osborn Avenue. I loaded up five young children to find parking close to that beach entrance. There is no street parking on Osborn Avenue, so after driving around for several minutes I saw that the parking lot of the Sea Spray was nearly empty and there were no signs indicating hotel parking only in the main parking area. I parked as far as possible from the motel so as not to disturb the guests, and as there were over 30 (photo attached) empty spaces, I though there would be no issue. I unloaded the kids and beach gear and a man came out and started yelling that parking was for guests only.
In the past, I have directed our overflow guests to the Sea Spray but I will no longer be doing so.
(As I drove away I did see a sign away from the main parking area that parking was for guests only, unfortunately this was behind a bin.)

This was the third time my family has stayed at the sea spray. This time was no different from previous stays. We arrived early at 10 am and checked in and they called me at 1pm to let me know the room was ready. Check in time is usually 3pm so that was nice to be able to unload the car early. The room was as expected, clean with no issues. My only complaint is the TV looks to be over 10 years + old as it was a small 27 inch and some of the wall paper near the top off the walls was starting to peel. Both are easy fixes and should be addressed. The location is great as the beach is right across the street! A tip - if you don’t want room service during your stay, bring extra towels for the bathroom as it is hit and miss catching the cleaning service during the mornings as we were told that was the only way to get new towels. If you are expecting a Hilton type room don’t stay here , but if you want a clean room and great location you shouldn’t be disappointed

We stayed at the Sea Spray for 3 nights mid-week with extended family. This was our first time visiting and our first time staying that far south on the island. We were a group of 3 families including 6 kids, ages 4-11. The rooms were clean, bigger than expected, and well equipped with a new fridge, a microwave, lots of dresser / drawer space, desk, night stand, tv, and table with 2 chairs. The black out curtains work really well for getting the kids to sleep in!
The pool and outside area are fantastic, just like described! There are plenty of picnic tables around the grills for multiple groups to sit and eat. The staff keeps the grills, grounds, and rooms very clean. A bathroom next to the office and close to the pool/ picnic area is a nice touch. The kids loved the foosball table and used it daily. As stated on the website, the beach and bay are very close. We arrived earlier than check in and got badges from the front desk, walked across the street to the beach, and started enjoying our vacation right away. Going in the opposite direction, quick walk to the bay and the end of the street has a nice viewing area with a bench to watch the sunset.
Within walking distance is also an ice cream shop, sandwich place, and nice playground. It’s a perfect location, especially if you enjoy a little peace and quiet being just past the busier town of Beach Haven, and we would definitely return.

I travel to LBI at least 10x a summer and staying at the sea spray always exceeds my expectations. You will not find a cleaner motel on the island ! The pool and bbq area are spotless and the cleaning staff is constantly cleaning! From Trish at the front desk who is on top of everything from checking in to check out ! All staff are professionals ! Clean clean clean with a smile!

In the summer, rooms are just under $300 a night. With the various taxes, it is over $300. Rooms are very clean, have hairdryer, fridge & microwave. Beach passes included; short walk to the water. We're here now (return visitors from last year), and we think it's great! Plenty to do both at the motel & nearby, & the staff is super friendly & helpful!
There are more places to choose from in the Beach Haven area.
