We just returned from a 2-day birthday celebration at the Williams Cottage Inn. It was marvelous. Bette and Merle are outstanding hosts and made us feel like we were returning home. We stayed in the Rose room on the 3rd floor, which has a large bedroom area and a separate sitting room. When we woke up in the morning, we enjoyed an elegant multi-course breakfast with dishes like a poached pear in puff pastry. Through the day, we had fresh cookies, coffee, and candy available. Amenities such as beach chairs, umbrellas, and bicycles are available.
LBI in October is very different from the summer. It can be cooler but the lack of crowds and the reduced nightly rate more than makes up for it. Beach Haven has excellent public tennis and pickleball courts available and we were frequently the only ones using them.
If you're thinking of visiting the Williams Cottage Inn, we're sure you won't be sorry.

What a great place! We've been to the Williams Cottage Inn a few times before and continue to return. The building is beautiful inside (and out) and the staff is wonderful. All your beach needs are covered and included (tags, chairs, bag, towels, umbrella, ice) and it's a short walk to the beach. They also have bikes you can use. Each morning you get some good eats to start the day. Really, a legit breakfast! The WCI is a relaxing stay on LBI.

We have stayed with Merle and Betty at Williams Cottage Inn too many times to list. Each and every visit was amazing and relaxing. The two course breakfasts are the BEST ever. The rooms are sparkling clean and sanitized. They have instituted special Covid protocols that will make you feel very comfortable and at ease. Once you check in, no one will enter your room. You leave towels in a bag outside your room and new linens are dropped off in a sealed bag. The close location to the beach is perfect and many rooms have ocean views. They provide beach badges, beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, bikes and everything you need to enjoy your beach time. Then you have the best of the best hosts in Merle and Betty.

It’s been 10 years since we’ve been back to LBI since all the kids are grown and doing their own thing. I’ve been coming here for 40 years and the beach was calling this Memorial Day. The Williams Cottage Inn was just what my husband and I were looking for: nightly rates with no min stay, luxury, close to everything, great food and welcoming hospitality. I’m sure I’ve biked by this grand Victorian property hundreds of times during my island visits but the property has never looked better! We stayed in the Blue Room which was an ample size with king bed, and two comfortable chairs in front of a 2nd floor window where we could see the ocean. Everything was impeccably clean and they take special precautions to hospital grade “fog” the rooms to disinfect between guests. Tables in the indoor dining room where we were served breakfast were spaced nicely and food servers wore masks. Bette and Merle were so kind, welcoming and accommodated our special dietary requests perfectly. We really appreciated all their efforts. The food was delicious. We also enjoyed the bikes available and reading on the porch. I hope to be back.

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed Bette and Merle's amazing home. They deserve a 5-star review! Their casual hospitality did convince us that their home was also our home for two days. We had booked two rooms, including the dome room, which from the outside looks like a Victorian tower or turret. Rooms were very comfortable and nicely appointed in period style. We were well fed from cookies in the lobby at 3 pm, to a sit-down breakfast extravaganza that featured Merle's famous Hot Mango Chutney. The beach is right across the street and everything we needed such as beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas was provided. When we got back, we took advantage of the outdoor shower. Thank you, Bette and Merle, we will be back!

My husband and I found this inn on a whim looking for a last minute weekend getaway. Apparently I did something right because I cannot rave enough about our stay! Merle and Bette are incredible hosts and aside from the accommodations being beautiful and immaculate, the amenities truly make it an incredible value on the island. Beach towels, chairs, bicycles and an amazing served breakfast are all included in your stay, as well as Merle getting you coveted dinner reservations!
We cannot wait to return and feel lucky to have found this gem! ❤️

My other half and I have stayed at the Williams Cottage Inn many times and we are NEVER disappointed. Every time, the rooms are super clean (and beautifully adorned) and filled with thoughtful amenities like fancy soaps, shampoo, bubble bath and soft robes! The 2 course, gourmet breakfast is AMAZING. You are pampered from the second you walk in the door. There are homemade cookies waiting for you, regardless of the hour and Betty and Merle are the most wonderful hosts ever. So friendly and helpful and fun. You may pay a little more than other places, but it is so WORTH IT. We just got home and I'm already thinking of going back before the summer is really over. September/October is beautiful at the Jersey Shore. And even better at the Williams Cottage Inn.

We returned once again this summer and glad we did! Always a perfect stay, beautiful Inn, well kept and extremely clean and comfortable. The luxury of not having to bring much, the Inn Keepers think of everything! Beach Chair and bags, towels and nice bikes to ride. The value compared to every other place on LBI you can't beat it and a three course, gourmet breakfast is included! Don't hesitate, go stay, you won't regret it!

Merle and Bette are wonderful and made our stay at WCI a memorable experience. Accommodations were clean, well appointed and nicely decorated. They provided everything needed for a stay at the beach including beach chairs, umbrella, and bicycles. Breakfast selections were plentiful, had variety, and were always delicious. Merle and Betty know the island better than most and are excellent at recommending places to eat and sites to see. This vintage victorian home was impeccably restored and just steps away from the most peaceful beach on earth. Hurry and make reservations. You won’t regret it.

My wife and I booked a week trip for our honeymoon. We had not been on a vacation in a few years due to COVID. A random google search led me to Williams Cottage Inn. The house and rooms looked absolutely stunning in the photos and even better in real life. Betty and Merle are fabulous hosts and could not have made us feel any more welcome! The breakfast was different and delicious every morning. The rooms are so clean and they take extra measures to ensure sanitary conditions. The bed and pillows are exceptional! I got some of the best sleep I have had in months. They also provide everything you need for a beach vacation. They provide beach towels, bags, chairs, umbrellas, bikes and even an outdoor shower to clean off after a fun day in the sand!! The location is perfect as well. It’s walking distance to the beach and close to many eateries and shops. We are already planning our trip next year! I highly recommend this B&B!

Currently we are at our home in Florida, so we are not at the Inn. Otherwise, we could count the steps. The steps are NOT steep whatsoever. And they are covered with beautiful, soft Karistan carpet. From the first floor to the second there are stairs, separated by a landing and then a few more steps to the 2nd. floor. Good choice on rooms. The Blue Room is my our favorite room! Spacious, bright with great ammenities.

We do host weddings. The number one rule is that members of the wedding party must book all 8 rooms. The booking cost is the price of the rooms plus a wedding venue fee. We are permitted per the borough of Beach Haven to a maximum of 60 people. You must provide their own caterers. We encourage you to go to our website to view our guest rooms and to see our pricing. The couple that run the inn have a small dog themselves which is allowed at the inn, but on a leash.
