Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We stayed here for the first time this weekend with our 6 yr old and 9 mo. old. We had a first floor room which was super clean and spacious. Being on the first floor was really convenient with having to lug kid/ baby stuff. No carpet in the room was a huge plus because let’s be honest- any beach place should not have carpet bc you can never get rid of the sand. My understanding is not every room is carpet free there- only a few. I really hope they work towards making all the rooms like this. Pool area was great with a nice beach bar and entertainment. Loved the onsite coffee/ snack shop so you didn’t have to leave the premises early in the morning. The location is great and in walking distance to restaurants, mini golf, amusement park etc. Looking forward to returning in the future!

A few friends and I decided to visit LBI last minute and booked an efficiency here. The hotel is a very short walk to the beach; we could see the beach/ocean from our balcony. Our room was newly renovated so everything was clean and in order. The beds were comfy and the bathroom and shower were excellent. We had a large "living area" separate from the bedroom, and a huge balcony with tables, chairs, and lounge chairs. Ice is available on the ground floor inside a locked room (opens with the room key). Our rooms were carefully cleaned daily. The location to town is equally convenient, with restaurants and shopping being less than 1/2 mile away. The area is quiet and safe. The place isn't fancy, but it exceeded my expectations for a shore motel.

This is a stand-by dining experience through the fall, winter, and spring before the summer crowd arrives. We have dined here two or three times during the winter for the past thirty years. Always good food, ample portions, and excellent service. Reasonable prices for appetizers and main courses. Good sushi, as well.

We loved our stay back in 2011 and we were "Pleasantly Surprised" then. I have to say it is even better now. While it is about the same price of a top hotel in the Caribbean and that smarts a little, I have to say for an old beachfront hotel in NJ's gorgeous Long Beach Island, you can not go wrong here if you can afford it. The service was top notch. A request for more towels and a check on our mini fridge was answered in about a minute... I think the guy sprinted up the stairs. room was very nicely renovated, spacious and clean. I cannot say enough about the friendliness of every employee we encountered. The location could not be better... on the beach and walking distance to everything you want to do or see in LBI. Great pool, and bar restaurant and a more formal Restaurant, albeit under a tent in the parking lot as a result of the current pandemic fears. Great place, great location, great staff! We can't wait to go back, only for a longer stay next time.

Been coming here since it was one building lol. We love the on the beach location, the pool, the bar , the staff, the parking, the rooms etc etc lol.
A hidden gem of a find this trip was the large Java for $2 and the hot breakfast Sammie’s for $7. No need for designer stuff!!
We tried to eat in the restaurant however it was booked.

The hotel has its own beach entrance and is within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, shops and The Starlight Theater. They have a great restaurant & Sushi Bar (inside) as well as a Bar & Snack Bar out by the pool. They have live music by the pool as well. Very convenient.

We reserved a suite with a deck. It was great to have the outdoor space and the room was very clean. The bathroom needs an update and the climb to the third floor can be tough for older folks or those with very small children.
Unfortunately, the Sand Bar is closed Monday- Wednesday in the off season, but the heated pool is open and there is a nice area of tables and Adirondack chairs on the sand where you can enjoy some outdoor time if you don’t have a room with a balcony/deck.
The Engleside Inn is perfectly located near shops, theater, restaurants, and of course, the most important attraction - the beach!

Everything was lovely from the moment we walked in, no reservation, but luckily they could accommodate us. The gentleman at the front desk could not have been nicer. Our oceanfront room was, clean, updated , fresh, and very comfortable. Nicely appointed, small sink, microwave, fridge. Nice size balcony with what looked to be brand new furniture that was comfortable. The bathroom is larger than I expected and clean /updated. I can highly recommend, the only thing o can not speak to is noise from pool/ bar , it’s a pretty quiet day here. If you have an opportunity or a need for a place here in beach haven I suggest you check it out!!

Older property is lovingly maintained and conveniently located with friendly staff and spacious rooms. Please note no elevator on the property: you will get your steps in ( this is challenging for little kids!) Easy parking and lunch spot and bar by the pool are huge pluses!

We have stayed here before - and were delighted once again. The service, the atmosphere, the Sand Bar tiki bar, the staff...
The only problem we had - we didn't stay long enough :)
We didnt stay oceanfront but our room 334 was very good. I think that all rooms have views of the ocean.
AND the Restaurant was a fantastic value - great food and the bill was.. lower than we anticipated. Make reservations, this is a busy place off season.

Hello! All of our rooms are accessed via the outside. There isn't any interior enclosed hallways or entrances. The rooms face to the common parking/walking areas. Have a great day!
