Who would have thunk that a beautiful town like Belmar with lavish mansions , a beautiful beach and boardwalk and gorgeous fishing boats would be home to a dilapidated place like the Belmar Motor Lodge?
The list of things wrong with this place would be too long to put here.
The only good things are the convenience to the fishing boats and the railroad.
Pity the people who have to stay here when they attend the banquet hall across the way.

Unfortunately no good/ great hotels within 40 miles. So gave it a try was visting for 4 days my hometown. Great location for what I needed as a single guy. Very old and building had a awful odor.I. lucked out and got a half way decent room on bottom floor. Old kingbed,but bathroom updated.

called today 3 weeks after my visit to tell them i have a bed bug infestation from bringing my pillows and sheets to the motel. just wanted to let them know so nobody has to suffer like we are doing now. she matter of fact told me that they do not get bed bugs and didnt care what i had to say. I wasnt calling to get anything from them i just thought it was the right thing to do. so if you get bed bugs Sorry they dont care.

Great stay, Justin is EXTREMELY friendly and polite. The room was big and the ac was very cold. The place could be upgraded a little bit but I enjoyed the stay and I will recommend it. The pool was nice as well. Definitely will be coming back very soon.

Huge Mistake! Please don't make the same terrible mistake as I did. dirty, flea bitten shady way expensive for the terrible experience of having to endure this smelly hovel. never never never never never never never never never never again. What a hellthole.

After making reservation months in advance (based on reviews and photos) we were absolutely shocked when we arrived at a very different place from what was advertised. We stepped into the lobby and were quickly confronted with a disgusting, putrid odor. It may have been coming from the carpeting which was filthy with stains and dirt. We knew that this was not going to be our hotel for the next three nights. The person behind the desk was on the phone and made no eye contact during our brief encounter, and he could have easily passed as a street person who had not bathed in a while. I am not making this up. We left and made other arrangements. Not sure who would stay there, or why...but it was not going to be us.

This place has BED BUGS. They wont admit it. When I woke up in the morning and found the bugs, and woke up itchy, I went down to the front desk as I was leaving and they told me theres nothing they can do until owner comes later afternoon. They never called me liked they said they would. They claim they brought an exterminator in, and the exterminator couldnt find anything. Yet they failed to show me a report. They refuse to refund me my money. $200 for the room, $200 in dry cleaning, and the only thing I got to show for are bed bug bites and rashes.

Guy in the front overcharged me for a room that was dirty and sticky and then his redneck wife got nasty when I asked for a room change . Overpriced roach motel and I wouldn't send my worst enemy there there are a lot better deals in seaside heights

As member a yacht club and on a trip for the weekend some of our members took boat and some stayed at this flea bag hotel that smells like wet rags , as for me checking in the lady at the Front desk should of retired ten years ago as for her additude was uncalled for disrespectful, rude, And just sucked . The thing I did notice is that this hotel should be shutdown and reopened under new management and the main issue is the help .

My wife and I stayed here recently the weekend Gaslight Anthem played Asbury Park. This was our first experience at Belmar Motor Lodge (BML)... we usually stay in Asbury, but all hotels were booked our wanted a 2 night stay. The BML exceeded our expectations. Check in was smooth and easy. No card keys, old fashioned hotel room keys, which I find a rare gem these days. The lobby is small, nothing fancy at all, hallways were clean and no odors. Room was huge, had a fridge, great view of the marina and pool. Room was clean and well maintained. This is an older hotel, and it shows, but it appears that they are maintaining the property well.
Let's talk about the location, the train station is right next door, so it took us less than a minute to get to the train and in 7 minutes we were in Asbury. The marina is located right across the street. Many close restaurants and bars.
Bed was comfy, the hotel was quiet at night and we slept well. We also felt very safe and we returned later in the night after the concert and the area was secure.
I will for sure stay at the BML again on my next trip to the area.

No but you could easily ride a bike or take your car. As far as the location is great for the price during the week.
Oh yes that is very true its been updated and I've always found the place to be clean and just a laid back easy going motel.
