I was terribly impressed with the accommodations that motel 88 provided for myself and my siblings as we visited in the end of May 2020. The rooms were spotless, temperature controlled, amenities included refrigerator, and small efficiencies with a stove top. My stay included three nights in room number three and found the bed to be extraordinarily comfortable!
Each room had small touches that made our visit feel like home. The pictures and atmosphere around the motel were surprisingly tranquil and calming. In a busy little beach community this is a hidden treasure! The pool was very inviting although we never made it in. The owners went out of their way to greet us and provide a special weekend as we gathered together. I will definitely be back! Thank you to the owners of motel 88 for providing a home away from home!

We stayed three nights in room #4 back near the pool at the 88 Motel in Brick, NJ starting Sunday 23 August. The room came with a great ¾ height frig and freezer, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, two burner electric stove, kitchen sink, bowls, plates, cups, glasses, stainless ware and pan. Dish washing supplies and paper towels included. The room was newly renovated, clean and very quiet except for the window mounted AC unit which made it hard to hear the TV when it was running. The location is wonderfully close to a Stop & Shop grocery store, liquor store, Sundae’s Ice Cream Shop, gas station, 7-Eleven, three pizza restaurants and the Colonial Ranch Market meat, deli, produce and bakery shop. It’s only three miles down Bridge Street to the beach. The owners are very friendly and kind. We would definitely stay here again.

A happy couple! The are several surprises as you approach the motel. It’s located on a busy two lane small town road. As you pull into the parking lot you are surprised by the scenery. The motel grounds scenery is worthy of having its picture on a postcard. The atmosphere was indeed a welcomed stay away from the modern every day hotel/motel chains. The private property wetland has a placard posted identifying it as sanctuary for waterfowl. It’s loaded with turtles, fish and crustaceans (crabs for sure). My room had a queen bed, table for two, two burner countertop stove, large refrigerator, microwave. The room comes with a set of dishes for two, knives, forks, spoons, and wine glasses. When dinner is over, the dishes must be washed, there is plenty of hot water, dish detergent and a rack to place the clean ware on. Dimmer controlled lighting was a plus. Everything you need for a romantic night. The bathroom fixtures are up-to-date. The decor is beautiful. My stay was cut short because a film company bought out the property for a shooting. Impressive! The property is located about eight minutes from the beach. Need I say more. Last, but not least, I saved the best for last. The owner of the property has to one of the most pleasant individuals I’ve met in my life time. I have traveled the globe. Truly a great place and owner.

This property has been open for at least 50 years, owned by one family. It is very well maintained, inside and out. The owners are on site full time.

The rooms are all modern and updated, with plenty of room. All rooms have a small kitchenette, complete with a refrigerator, microwave, sink and a two stove cooktop. An ample supply of kitchen items (cutlery, dishes, cooking pot, dish detergent, sponges, etc.) is provided for your use.
Towels are changed out daily and trash is removed daily.
There is a radiator type heating system which is more than sufficient for the room.
The bed is comfortable and the bedding supplies are clean and fresh smelling.

The bathroom has a stall shower, which has a lot of space; the owners supply all toilet items. The sink has a shelf above it, giving you room for personal effects. It also has a soap dish and toothbrush holder attached to the wall, for your convenience.

Surprisingly since it is on a state highway, there isn't any noise from the traffic. You can also open the windows (which we did) to allow fresh air into the room.
There is a fenced in pool on the premises, but since we were off season, it wasn't open.

Everything about this motel is way above expectations for value, comfort and attention to detail. it's obvious that the owners care about their business property; it shows in how they take care of it.

As for the area, the beach is approximately 4 miles east of this motel. There is a train station in the town where the beach is located (Point Pleasant), giving you easy access to the motel. Several taxi services/Uber/Lyft can transport you to the motel and back if need be.

Since you are in Brick, there are dozens of places to dine and shop, and although this motel is on the outskirts of the town, it's a very short ride.
The nearest mall is the Ocean County mall, for more shopping and dining, which is approximately nine miles away, or 21 minutes, depending on traffic.

We are definitely staying here again when we come up for personal business.

I just had a wonderful stay at this lovely “Mom and Pop” hidden gem establishment! From the pool, you can take in a stunning view of the certified wildlife habitat or you can get to the beach in 10 minutes!
I stayed in the cottage which includes a queen bed, large wall-mounted flatscreen TV, standard-sized fridge, kitchenette, and a table for two. Every time I returned to my room, I found it as immaculate as if it were the first day I arrived. The owners take great care of everything which is why I highly recommend Motel 88 to anyone who is looking for the perfect place by the shore.

Motel 88 in Brick Township New Jersey, was one of the Cleanest places I have ever stayed very updated. The Kitchenette had everything you could need to cook yourself a hot meal. The location is near everything. The rooms are cleaned everyday. I really enjoyed my stay there. Thank You Liz and Ken.

We made a last minute trip to the Point Pleasant area and were super lucky to find availability at 88 Motel last minute. We are a small family, just my partner and 11 year old daughter so we just needed two beds for one night. The motel is very cute, clean, parking is included and Liz the owner was very nice. The room was very clean and appears to have been remodeled. The pool is a great size and also clean with picnic tables, lounge chairs and BBQ grill . The surprise and highlight is that there is a bird sanctuary/wetlands behind the motel it looks so peaceful and beautiful. Our goal was to spend a full day at Jenkinson’s boardwalk and beach on a Saturday so we decided to Uber back and forth to avoid parking stress and parking fees. It was an easy 12 minute ride and estimated $16 each way. This motel is also pretty close to the downtown Pt Pleasant area which is pretty cute with some shopping restaurants and bars. I am looking forward to returning and even telling more fam and friends so we can block out a few rooms and takeover the pool ;-). We will 100% be back.

We needed a place near our recently passed family member.
After speaking with Liz and Ken we felt confident we had found the right place to stay.
Once we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find it was way nicer than the photos we saw online and the new remodeled room was amazing with everything we needed.
Thank you Liz for all your kindness and help during our stay.

Small, unassuming motel that has been around for decades, BUT:
It is beautiful inside, well maintained, security cameras everywhere, has a mini kitchen, stall shower and GREAT owners who made you feel like you were home.
The room's kitchen trash was taken away by the owners, clean towels every day, and Liz and her husband were top notch.

Would gladly stay there again.

Lived in Brick for 32 years and always rode past. Never gave a second thought. Moved to North Carolina recently and needed a place to stay in Brick. My daughter called to make reservations and we were surprised we could get in last minute. She spoke with the owner Liz and she was very accommodating. Upon check in we were greeted by Liz with a plate of home made goodies as a snack. She was so sweet. We checked into our room (2 Queens) and were amazed at the beautiful room and also the cleanliness. ( on a busy road in the middle of town) We took advantage of the salt water pool and also used the outdoor grill to make dinner. Liz and her husband run the entire place from check in to check out and house keeping. This place is a hidden gem tucked into a beautiful marsh water way view. Every room is immaculate and decorated to make you feel at home. Each efficiency is equipped with coffee pots, silver ware and some plates. Enough for a short stay. I will definitely return here for any future visits. Kudos to Liz and Ken for their hospitality.
