My wife and I visited Savannah Sunset Resort to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we both had a wonderful time. The rooms were very nice, a good size. Bed was comfortable. The outside deck (we stayed in a couples room) was a real nice size and it was phenomenal having breakfast on it or just sitting outside and looking at the watering hole and some of the animals. It was great seeing Elands (?) and giraffes walking by. Also saw the bovine with the long horns (I forget what they are called) in the distance from our deck.
In the mornings they have giraffe feedings where you get a great closeup look and a chance to interact with them. They also have a safari tour where you get to see the whole grounds with lions, tigers, bears, antellope, zebra, wildebeest and much more. Both are included in the room rate.
We also took and enjoyed 2 VIP experiences, One with lions and tigers and bears where you get a much closer look at these animals. You get out of the truck and can get better pictures of them behind their fence and get to ask the wardens any questions you may have. The other one that we took featured elephants and rhinos.
The food at the restaurant was good and can be delivered to your room.
You can tell that Liz, the general manager, and all of her staff are extremely concerned with making the guests time there as fun and rewarding as possible. They are always smiling, polite and attentive and any small concerns (our wifi in the room was a little shaky) our immediately addressed and they do their best to offer solutions that will make the guest happy.
The pictures and videos we took during our weekend stay were great.
Bottom line is my wife and I both are animal lovers and would love to go to Africa on a safari but will probably never get there. This was a much closer and cheaper experience that we both enjoyed tremendously and will remember for a long time. I strongly recommend this place whether for couples or a family getaway.

We live an hour and a half from 6 flags and we haven't been back in about 20yrs so it brought back a lot of memories for us. But If you want to camp in style, you have try Savannah Sunset Resort. It is situated right in the middle of the safari so while we were enjoying our breakfast, you can see the animals walk by. The tents were beautiful and amazing. I felt like I was in S. Africa but in NJ!. What a wonderful weekend. The service was definitely top notch like any Four Seasons or Ritz. Liz the manager was the hardest working person I know. She wasn't the type to tell her employees to do this or that...she actually took care of us first hand. I was very impressed by her. We upgraded our wristbands to the VIP bands to get to the front of the line for the rides..well worth it. They have shuttles to and from the park so it was very convenient. They try to accomodate you the very best that they can. The only thing I wasn't that thrilled about was the food. Because there's only one restaurant on the premises, we didn't have much choice but to eat there. The menu is very limited and the food was subpar. It was like eating from a kids menu...burger or jerk chicken sandwich. I guess we could have left the property but b/c we were in the middle of the safari, they would have to drive us to the car then arrange to be picked up to be driven back to the resort. We ended up staying on the resort for 2 nights and 3 days but if I had to eat that food for another day, I'd prob be cranky. I think if you are spending $800 to $1200 a night for a stay, I'd expect better food quality and choices. Besides that it was an amazing experience and I would def do it again!.

The incredibly unique resort is brand new and has super high quality tents ( which feel and act like small homes ) overlooking the Savanah in the Six Flags Safari. The family tent we booked had two bedrooms and space for all three kids to have their own beds. A huge wrap around deck overlooked the safari planes and we saw giraffe and many other wildlife right from the comfort of our own dining table. The service of the staff is amazing. Feels like a five star hotel in a fun and unique setting. They are working out some small kinks here and there as they only opened their doors this summer. But the staff is passionate and aims to please. We fed giraffes and went on daily safari drives. We went on a VIP predictor tour and were a couple of feet away from amazing tigers and lions. The stay also included daily tickets to Six Flags and Fright Fest. We had private transfers directly to the entrance of the park and were picked up and transported back to our rooms. Every transfer was another driver through the safari. It was peaceful, fun, and luxurious. I highly recommend it for couples or families.

Savannah Sunset Resort and Spa at Great Adventure in Jackson. Can’t say enough wonderful things about this beautiful place!! The staff was incredible and so nice. The accommodations were amazing. The best part was watching the giraffes come over the horizon to be fed by the guests. Each meal was brought to us so we could eat on our beautiful veranda over looking the animals. Each day we were able to watch the sunrise and set while over looking the beautiful resort. The food was delicious and there was lots of it. We did the tours and were close up with the animals, we even got to feed the elephants. I could go on and on about how truly perfect this vacation was. Thank you to Liz, Tiffany, Ari, Larry, Yoluccia, all the other amazing staff members.

The resort is absolutely stunning. The service was unmatched. They accommodate all of our needs so quickly l and were so friendly. Special shout out to Lallie, Tiffany and Anisia. The rooms were beautiful. Waking up to giraffes and deer, feeding the giraffes, and going on to the safari tours was such a therapeutic experience. The food was a bit of a disappointment. Overall, 11/10 experience!

Amazing experience. The staff were all customer experience focused. Big thank you to Liz, Anthony, Serena, and our server whose name is escaping me but he’s from Jamaica and was totally accommodating for our dinner selections. The giraffes ARE THE SWEETEST!! You’re going to leave wanting one.

One of the best experiences I've ever had! It was a beautiful weekend to be there and the staff couldn't have been any better. They communicated so well about all of my options for the day. Liz and her team were great. The summerset was out of this world. I can't wait to go back next summer!

I would like to give a BIG THANK YOU from the Collins family to the Savannah Sunset Resort & Spa team for making our Anniversary stay with our family so AWSOME!!! The team made us feel like royalty, from our arrival to get picked up to our entrance to the Resort and our entire stay. Our transportation drivers where courteous, friendly and always on time. I love the fact that we had the same drivers, this made it more personable.
When we arrived on the resort Liz and Gabby greeted us with a Big smile and welcome it made us feel right at home. Then we were greeted with a welcome fruit punch which was perfect on such a hot day. I also was able to meet Yoluccia who called me the week prior to our stay to give me all the information regarding our stay and answer any question I had.
When Gabby brought us to our room/tent OMG the room was perfect, it was like we just walked into paradise meets Africia. It was even better than we expected and to receive a handwritten note welcoming us was the Best!!!
Waking up every morning hearing the lions roar and seeing animals right off our deck was beautiful and what a special treat is was to feed the giraffes each morning. We also did the and the VIP tours “Meet the Giants” and the “Predator Tour”, there is nothing like this if we didn’t know we were in New Jersey you would have thought we were in Africa. The tour guides, wardens and giraffes staff where so friendly, knowledgeable and funny we had a great time with them learning new things about the animals.
The food on the resort to me was great, everything was nice and flavorful, I definitely loved the lobster roll. The way the entire staff treated us and were so attentive to our needs and how Beautiful the rooms and grounds were made our experience top notch. Liz you were Awsome and you didn’t miss a beat, thank you and your staff for making us feel so welcome. Our family and everyone we showed our YouTube video too love the resort and can't believe this is N.J. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!! I can see me in the spa now!!!
Kind Regards, The Collins Family
