The hotel and staff were great. Check in and out were a breeze and I love that they give you warm cookies at check in. They do offer room service, but be sure if you want to order something late that you call before 10:30pm....More

This is not a DoubleTree by anything other than name. I "lived" here for a year.. and after a couple of months the level of service had me basically *expecting* Conrad level service. I would sometimes have to pinch myself and remind myself that this...More
This hotel is a great place to stay when visiting New York. It gets you away from the mayhem of the city. It only takes 10 mins to get into New York on the Path train that is across the road from the hotel. The...More
We love double tree hotels and realy loved to find a place in Jersey City.
Parking is available, but costs 25$ + tax. Valet is available as well.
Breakfirst was with additional price, so we skipped it.
Very close to the PATH.
We came with...More
Great location but don’t pay extra for a city view. I was on a corner suite on the 12th floor and the financial district buildings which is what I wanted to see were blocked by buildings on the other side of the street. The only...More

I just sorry your message now.... so sorry for the delay. I don't mind answering your question at all! Just visited your lovely country over Christmas, so that is funny you are coming here at that time as well. My daughter spent a semester in London and we joined her over the holiday there. Loved it!
Here's why I choose this hotel and have stayed there twice and loved it both times.
I live in Virginia and when I drive to the city I want to drive and leave my car outside the city. This hotel is so close to the city but without having to drive into the city where drivers are very aggressive! You won't have that issue thankfully since you are arriving by cab or Uber or Lyft (the latter two seem more cost effective in the city).
Additional reasons I like the Doubletree:
1. Rooms are quite large and have recently been updated. The sitting area in the room is so nice and one's family isn't right on top of one another. This is NOT the case in NYC hotel rooms normally. The standard room is quite tiny. I stayed for 2 nights with my teens on 34th Street near Empire State Building in June and them again a few weeks ago on 42nd Street near Times Square. The rooms were quite small. Much more pleasant size room in Jersey City. My teens wanted to stay overnight in the city, but I preferred being in the city during the day and coming back to a quiet area in the evening. We spent 1 night in Jersey City and 3 in Manhattan.
The Path is 2 blocks from the Doubletree. It was about 10-15 minutes to get to WTC area and maybe 5 more to get to midtown. It wasn't long at all. The Path was just fine in my opinion. Be sure to explore some of the areas in lower Manhattan Like Soho and Chelsea as well. One of my favorite walks is on the High Line in lower Manhattan -- but in winter the plants aren't blooming. :(
The only disadvantage I see is that there are limited dining options near the Doubletree. There are a few small places, but not a ton of choices. if you are spending the day in Manhattan, that shouldn't be an issue at all for you. Also, the Doubletree breakfast is expensive... we chose to not eat there.
Honestly, Midtown was so loud at night at 42nd Street that I wouldn't stay there again. We liked our hotel at Hilton Garden Inn New York/West 35th Street in June, but the room was very small. It was more quiet than 42nd.
Please ask other questions if needed...I hope this helps!
Just curious what the price difference is for you versus staying in the city? I am guessing quite a bit. We booked using Hilton Points, but I know the Doubletree can be quite pricey during the week. Also, if you decide to stay in Manhattan, look at Group Getaway deals. When we stayed a few weeks ago I bought a Groupon for an excellent price for 3 nights.
Have a safe, fun journey!

The corner suites are as the other answer said on the corners of the hotel. I have stayed in some that seem a bit larger than others. Also some had a solid door and some wood and glass half doors that joined at the center. The rooms are nice, comfortable, and clean. Also many newly renovated. The staff is very nice.
