We came into town to attend "Hi-Tide Recordings Summer Holiday" a 2 day surf music festival that was held at Asbury Lanes which was FANTASTIC!! All of the hotels in Asbury Park were ridiculously overpriced. (Example, a king room at an unnamed hotel with a 3 night minimum, taxes and fees came to $2,200 or $220 for a queen room at The Crystal Inn!) So, we decided to take a chance, despite reading all of the reviews. The price, location & 1 positive review in July sold us. Crystal Inn was a 10 minute bike ride or $13 Uber fare directly to the beach in Asbury Park = bonus for us! The room had new vinyl flooring, no old dirty rugs. Looked freshly painted and was clean. Madeline at the front desk/customer service was very nice, helpful and courteous. She had free coffee, Cheerios, milk and OJ for breakfast in the lobby = sixth bonus for us! Overall, the Crystal Inn was surprisingly better than expected especially for the price!! p.s. the Crystal Inn appeared to be booked to the max as there were no parking spots left. I also feel that people only post negative reviews and forgot to post the positive.

Entire facility, including our room, smelled of cigarette smoke, both stale & fresh smoke. The reviews I read that this place was worth the price or bull! $300.00 a night was not worth it! Smack dab between a car wash & a gentlemen's club! Sofa was FILTHY! If paying under $100.00 a night maybe worth the stay, definitely not worth $300.00. Front desk staff was very nice though.

Okay let me start out by saying im no 5 star hotel monger... I have stayed in some run of the mill holiday inn sort of places several times, but the Crystal Inn was probably the worst for cleanliness. When my boyfriend and I entered the lobby there was a young girl sitting at the front desk reading a magazine. When she realized finally we were there to check in she peeked over the counter with the most harsh stare possible as if WE were ruining her reading time. Her attitude was awful and converstation consisted of a couple "Mhhmm's" and "Nope's." (not very friendly or conversational to say the least) I called ahead and booked a non smoking room (me being a smoker I don't like to smoke inside nor do I like the smell on my bedding and such) and when we entered the room it reaked of stale cigarette smoke, almost as if the cleaning staff was smoking while they made the beds and cleaned the bathroom. We had to laugh because when we washed our hands after putting down all of our bags even the soap smelled of cigarette smoke, but I wasn't going to go back downstairs and complain to the 'ever so lovely' girl at the front desk so we just opened the sliding door and sprayed some perfume. Moving on... We checked the bedding for bed bugs and sorts and the good news was no creepy crawlies BUT to my demise the pillow cases were stained something horrible. I just threw the pillows on the floor and thankfully brought my own to sleep with. We sat down on the couch to relax and watch TV while using the provided table to sit and eat I lunged from my seat only to realize my butt was soaked. Yes I said soaked and for a split second I wanted to burst into tears thinking the worst, but thankfully it was only water (god I still hope I was right) on the couch cushion. There is a pool there so we came to the conclusion someone must have come back from the pool and took a seat with a wet bathing suit. Then again why wasn't the cleaning staff checking that sort of thing? Needless to say my apetite was ruined and I decided to jump in the shower to which I could hear just about everything that was being said in the next room. If you want some privacy this probably isn't the place for you, besides the loud drunks at night which I can deal with you can hear everyones converstation. Anyway... Im not an easily skeeved out person but this did it for me. Opt for something nicer, even if you do have to pay a few extra bucks it will be worth not feeling like your going home with fleas and roaches and a wet butt.

This was my first visit to Neptune and Crystal Inn. I have to say I DEFINITELY WILL be back! The rooms are bigger than expected. Beds are comfy! Very clean! Ample parking. Secure. Updated heating/system, flooring, TV/cable, microwave and refrigerator. They also have a decent selection of snack food you can purchase and heat up in your room! The two women that were working during my stay were an absolute pleasure! Very helpful! My stay was off season however I plan on returning in the summer for a longer stay!

The AC was broken. We checked out immediately; yet we were refused a refund (after being given a runaround for 3 days about the manager "being out of town" and no one else allowed to authorize the transaction).
STAY away from this extremely unpleasant place.

As soon as we arrived the motel smelled like cigarettes, the kind that has been embedded in the walls for years. The carpets that line the hall walls are supposed to be red but are brown due to not being cleaned. Our bedroom smelt even worse. This motel doesn't take pride in cleanliness especially doing covid. The fact that I found pubic hair in the shower and shower curtains, fecal matter smeared on the toilet seating, orange unknown juice on the phone, chicken left on the table seats, tv didn't work, the coach in the room looked dirty, stained sheets, floor was lifting and had cigarette burns and the towels looked grey when they were supposed to be white. Place overall looked run down. We tried to get our refund and cancel, they wouldn't do it. They are taking advantage of people's money. I recommend not staying here if you want to avoid catching something. Staff isn't helpful either. If you are there during the weekend they will tell you to call on Monday to speak to a manager as refunds are a touchy subject.

I was very pleased with my experience staying at Crystal Inn. The pool was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom can use an update but overall, my experience was positive. Madeline was professional and attentive. I’m planning on coming back next month. The location is convenient. Only 15 minutes from Asbury Park.

We had a very nice stay at this motel. The room was big, clean and quiet. It had a little private patio that overlooked the pool. The people who ran the place were exceptionally nice. Location is a little far from the beach. It would by a great place to stay if you have a car.

So I stayed at this hotel on June 14 for a getaway with my boyfriend only to be woken at 10 in the morning attempting to switch rooms because bedbugs were found we waited all night for them to switch our room falling asleep in the desk chair and the floor I told the man joe at the desk I wanted my money back and he told me he had to wait for management. We waited in the room 5am hit and we found bedbugs everywhere in the room I put them in a bag and walked them down to the front desk and demanded for a managers number and still haven't gotten it or my refund. I took pictures of the room and where I found them and I am beginning to take more serious measures it was the worst ever

This hotel needs major renovating. The walls were crying for a good cleaning and paint. The room had a musty smell, the floors were dirty, especially the rug, it had holes in it and major wear showing everywhere. We were told it was a non smoking room, but we noticed [4] cigarette burn holes in the bed sheet. The furniture was all scratched & out dated. The control knob on the air conditioner unit was missing; there was no way to set the correct temperature. The towels were like wiping with sandpaper. We were left with a quarter roll of toilet paper, no extra roll, no tissues in the slot either. This hotel was definitely not worth $110.00.

I can't imagine how I can answer that-I'm in Maine. It was there a few months ago. Nothing great but ok for the money.
