I have been visiting this area for about 50 years and stayed at this hotel for more than 20 of those, first as a Days Inn, now as Red Roof. Staff is always courteous, friendly, and accommodating. While no trip has ever been perfect, the staff are quick to address any issues. it seems every time I've gone back, there are improvements. Reasonably clean, reasonably priced, and conveniently located near beaches and entertainment. Pet friendly as well. Recommend contacting office directly for reservations rather than third party.

The outside is very run down but inside was nice. It looked like they had remodeled. Price was right and I could take my dogs. Registering was easy but I’m not of fan of asking them for ice, I prefer to get my own. All in all, I would stay here again.

On arrival we were greeted warmly by the receptionist at the front desk. Our room was very clean and tidy. We were heading into Asbury Park for a concert that night and the front desk were more than happy to call us a taxi. After about 10 mins it hadn't arrived and they called again for us. At the point we visited the car park was being covered in tarmac but this didn't really give us any cause for concern as there were lots of parking spaces. Vending machines available on the property. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this motel.

The person at check-in was very nice and personable, that's what makes this a tough review to write. He told me he was putting us into Building 3, as that was the "family" building, and quieter. Room looked OK, could smell the chlorox from them sanitizing, and that was reassuring. We got our showers, and when my turn, I noticed hair on the wall of the shower, figured it was a family member's of mine, found out the the morning, it was NOT! Around 1AM was wakened to loud music playing next door, tossed and turned for 3 more hours, finally got up, checked out and left. Upon checkout I told the guy at the front desk about the loud noise, he said I should have told them to turn down the music - something I am NOT going to do and get in an altercation over. I told him I was disappointed in the stay and that they should control the noise since they are walking around the parking lot all of the time. I really wanted to like the place to be able to return to it in the future for fishing trips, but won't stay here again. As an add-on, a friend stayed here the following night as I just found out, same building I was in, said that there were people partying in the parking lot outside his room long into the night.

During a stay in May of 2021, I requested a 12:00pm checkout time. Despite the very low occupancy of the hotel, this was denied. I went out the morning of my check out with every intention of checking out at 11:30. My car broke down and I needed a jump start from AAA. I called the hotel to inform them of this and flat out refused to help me out. My choices were to pay for another night or have my belongings put "in-storage".
BY the time AAA came, I was able to get back to the hotel at 12:40 to find my belongings thrown into plastic bags including some hanging items. Upon lodging a complaint with Red Roof, the hotel manger not only refused to take responsibility for this treatment but actually accused me of lying about it. Subsequent complaints to RR Management did not address this situation, forcing me to conclude they condone such behavior by their owners.

On the day of arrival you wanted to schedule a later check out and we told you it was not possible, and then on the day of check out your car broke down so you would not return to the hotel until almost 1:00pm , a check out time you were told at check in was not possible. At about 11:10 am on the day of check out our housekeeper went to your room and knocked on the door multiple times. When she entered she found you were not there, but your belongings were there. We called you. You DID NOT call us. At about 11:15 am we called you and told you that you needed to return and remove your possessions from the room or we would have to remove them and hold them for you because we needed the room to be cleaned before our housekeepers leave for the day. We also gave you the option to pay for another night if you wanted to stay in the room longer. At 11:30 we called you again. We told you that he needed to return no later than 12:00 pm or we would have to remove your possessions from the room. There were no items hanging in the room. At 12:30pm you still had not returned, and your possessions were carefully removed from the room and kept for you at the front desk. At around 12:55 pm you returned to the hotel and we provided you all of your items from your room. There were not many items at all. Your possessions were handled with care and promptly returned to you.

Sam and Cedric, have the best guest service and go out of there way to make the guest stay safe and comfy. two perfect guest reps. the many friendly housekeeping staff make sure your stay is welcoming and comfort. i suggest this motel to those that want ti stay at the jersey shore good friendly budget motel for the family or friends or maybe a hot date night. clean rooms that make you comfy.

I booked several rooms at Days Inn in Neptune, NJ for a July wedding. The bride and groom visited the location several times, and were assured by the hotel manager that every courtesy would be extended to them. Upon arrival on the first, I informed them, in accordance with website regulations, that we would not need all the rooms for either night. From 18 rooms, at the time we only needed 13 for the night. This precipitated an hour long argument with both he and his wife. He insisted that we pay for all rooms for both nights and refused to cancel our reservations until this was done. We responded that this was ludicrous, and he continued to ask why we'd booked so many rooms, and that the cancellation policy was one month in advance. This switched back and forth from 72 hours to one month, depending on where they thought they could benefit in the conversation. We finally just paid for two rooms for one night each, and waited for the rest of the party to arrive. At 6:30pm, most of the bridal party arrived at the hotel. When several people offered to pay cash for the separate rooms, the manager still charged the bride's credit card. He then proceeded to argue for two more hours, threatening to charge anyone's credit card who happened to have used it to hold their room. This caused several of us, including myself, to cancel our credit cards, which caused a major inconvenience during a destination wedding weekend. Amidst the fighting, most of the party decided that they were not willing to stay since the service had been so unprofessional. This angered the manager and the wife even the more, and insisted that we pay for one night and a half - to absolve the loss sustained during the weekend, although they refused to cancel the reservations in the system. This precluded people from making reservations online, but they were determined to make up their "loss" in any way they could. After leaving the hotel, I called Days Inn's customer service center, and the head supervisor informed me that although we'd been threatened and inconvenienced, there was nothing that they would do since it was a franchise. She said that procedure dictated that they fax the complaint to them the next business day, and give them 7 days to respond - at which time we would be long gone. At 1am, we returned from the rehearsal dinner. I then spent another hour arguing - four hours total - with this man and his wife, explaining that I would not have booked rooms that were not previously occupied with would-be travellers. This did not suffice, and the wife even instructed me to leave the office. I refused, but members of the party paid extra just to spend the night. By 11:30am, the manager was already threatening to call the police if we did not leave immediately. This threat was accompanied by his omnipresence outside our hotel rooms, screaming at us to leave so that the rooms could be cleaned. This occurred although regular check-out was not until 12pm, and extended check-out had been promised to the bride weeks before. Finally, the bride's sister paid the hotel $800 more so that we could stay until 12pm. Later that evening, during the wedding reception, the manager called her again so that she would authorize even more charges on her credit card. The hotel was booked solid on July 3, and I am convinced that it would have filled the remaining rooms on July 2 had they cleared their system of rooms they know would not be used. The hotel, mind you, had doubled its rates for the holiday, was dirty, and still being renovated. I just heard from a supervisor via mail, and after careful review, she suggested that the best resolution would come from the individual hotel management. This being the same management with whom we had the disastrous weekend. I am overwhelmed and disgusted.

This review is an example of misuse of social media. Our housekeepers have been with us for 5 1/2 years and none of them ask for money from guests to clean rooms. You were asked to leave our property due to the problems you were causing. Writing a bad review as revenge only hurts those people who believe it, and miss an opportunity to stay at our property and enjoy a clean comfortable stay in a family friendly environment.

We booked a short vacation for the first weekend of June the same place we had stayed at the year before. The year before I was greeted by a nice man at the desk asking us to book another stay before we even checked out. This year's experience was quite different. 2 weeks before our stay this year we received a call from the hotel cancelling our original booking price and wanting to charge extra since the offer they had didn't extend to June. This was booked several months before and if the price isn't right that isn't the customers fault. The owner called and left a message that I could still stay but under their summer rate, not my booked rate and\or maybe I could negotiate with him on a price but a much higher price. I called back and spoke to the owner and he refused to do the right thing for a returning and loyal customer. So much for the customer is always right. They have now lost my business for the cost of a daily rate. Don't stay here, the pictures make the place look a lot nicer than it really is. The rooms still smell of smoke and the rooms are very plain and not very clean. There is nothing around except a funeral home. Don't waste your time of money on a place that doesn't treat it's customers the right way.

You did not stay at our property this year. And if you chose to specifically book our property this year to stay at the same place you stayed last year, I would think you would not want to come back if our property was not a nice place, and had rooms that smelled like smoke, and are plain and not very clean. Because you are angry that you would be charged a Summer rate does not justify inventing bad review comments . Obviously if your commmts were true you would not want to come back to us. And to suggest there is nothing around us is absurd since we are close to the beach, shopping and restaurants, as you must remember since you stayed with us last year and wanted to stay again this year. Trying to mislead readers because you are angry is disappointing.

Was at the hotel for 4 hours max. Room 101. Lying down to go to sleep and had what felt like a bite to my neck. After 3 or 4 more "bites" I sat up and looked at my pillow and there was a bed bug on my pillow. I woke up my children in the next bed and under there pillow were more bed bugs. Looking at the wall behind their bed were MORE bed bugs. On the table between the beds there were MORE bed bugs. I went to the manager and demanded a refund and was NEVER apologized to and instead was told I had FIVE minutes to get out of the room. I had to go through all my things on the sidewalk outside of the room to make sure I wasn't bringing any bed bugs home. Absolutely despicable.
