This was a wonderful quant beach hotel. It is on Main Street 3 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from the center of town. More like a bed and breakfast, it was a gorgeous older home with cozy rooms and three great porches. Very quiet and the host for the weekend, Jerry, was great. Theh have discounted beach passes for guests, umbrellas and chairs to bottled water to buy for a $1. Perfect amenities for a beach day! Hotel and rooms very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again.

Wonderful inn close to beach and in town. Hospitality is their motto it seems. Able to see the ocean from bed. Cozy room. They sell discounted Beach badges. Coffee and tea always available free and a microwave guests can use. An Ocean Grove gem.

Clean, quiet, central location, two blocks from the beach...what else could you ask for? There are 5 common porches to sit and watch the ocean or people passing by. There are 2 large common areas inside for relaxing with friends and family as well. Beach chairs, umbrellas, towels and reduced priced beach tags are also available in the main lobby. I can see why this Inn has been around forever! We'll be back for sure.

Progressive people, beware.

I have stayed in Ocean Grove and at the Quaker inn many times over the past 50 years. It's been a family tradition. My family lived here for generations, and returning after years away has been sad. Over the years, we typically have been greeted by gracious property owners. I can't say the same about the current ownership. While we were originally greeted with a smile, later it became very clear that the ownership did not like us. We can't say for sure if it was racism or homophobia or both but we clearly we're not welcome here.

The Quaker Inn is nicely located in a great little historic town. But there's not much special about this extremely basic hotel when compared to others nearby. The building is old and quaint and beautiful. My issue is not with the beautiful property. What is so disappointing is the way they have done as little as possible to make their rooms and guests comfortable. It's a poorly appointed hotel at any level.

When we arrived to find our reservation was set for the wrong number of rooms, I was confident this would all work out. They accommodated us, and I still had a good feeling.

When I hit the hard as rock bed in a cheap, squeaky metal frame, I was fine.

When the VERY bright light in the hallway shone through the door and lit up the room, making it tough to sleep, I was patient. When the smoke detector fell off the wall and smacked me in the shoulder while I was sleeping, I laughed. When I was locked out of the hotel for 40 minutes after a trip to my car to get my spare key, I was perturbed... but apparently, they lock up and go to bed after 9. My fault, I didn't know about the entrycode. It was embarrassing, and now I was becoming frustrated.

But when the management accosted my teenage daughter and accused them of vaping in the room while threatening to "boot us out" of all three rooms, including our 75 - and 82 year old matriarchs... instead of speaking to our kid's parents first, I was enraged.

This hotel has shown itself to be unwelcoming, uncomfortable, unfriendly, and confrontational with kids.

Never again, The Quaker Inn. You've done a very good job at ruining a three generation family experience.

Response from Quaker Inn, General Manager at Quaker Inn
Responded 17 Jul 2023
The reservation you made with a third party (Expedia), you made for the incorrect number rooms and the incorrect number of days. Epedia sent you multiple confirmations about the number of rooms and the dates you booked but, you insisted it was the front desks fault. We spent over an hour moving other customers reservations to try and accomodate your party. We finally were able to get you accomodated. During this long check in period you were given 6 keys with the front door passcode written on them and explained this to you. You locked yourself out and proceeded to try and break in the front door. Ringing the doorbell would have been more in keeping with our town and our residence. Customers walking by your daughters room complained of the smell of smoke so the front desk personnel knocked on the door and asked them if they were smoking. They said they were. This is not allowed in the hotel and the sign to this effect is posted as you check in. We expect people to respect our staff, our rules and our customers. This is why you will not be allowed back into our facility.

I have stayed in many B&Bs/Inns in Ocean Grove and this one is one of my favorites. It was clean, which is very very important to me! The bed was comfortable, earlier check in then other Inns. They offered tents, towels and chairs, and the coffee/tea is available. The manager was very kind, remembered our names and was very helpful. The common areas are so pretty. I will be back, this Inn checked off all the boxes on what is important to me. Thank you all for a lovely stay!

Wonderful stay for my parents at the Quaker Inn. The room and facilities are clean and management is incredibly accommodating, professional, and truly helpful. The location is amazing -- a block or so from the beach and right downtown, with a beautiful front porch (actually there are 3 porches!) with rocking chairs to enjoy being in one of the best beach towns on the East Coast. Highly recommend the Quaker Inn across the board!

Needed a last minute reservation and was able to get a room here. Nice and clean but a bit dated. Room had a balcony which I hadn’t expected. Quick walk to the beach and right in town.
Room had a very loud window ac unit that didn’t keep the room quite cold enough for us. Mentioned this at checkout. I’m sure they would take care if it. They were very attentive to all our needs.
There are beach towels and umbrellas in the lobby so you can leave those at home.
Also can get beach passes at the desk. We didn’t know that. $7 pp/per day at the desk $10 pp/per day at the beach.

The folks at the Quaker Inn treated us very well before and during our stay. They accommodated our early arrival by holding our bags and giving us our keys Jim was awesome at check in with a great positive attitude as well as friendly demeanor. The place is pretty cool too. Clean and welcoming with a good location. We went to the beach in Ocean Grove but spent the bulk of our time in Asbury for dining, drinking, and of course music. It was an easy walk and the beach was awesome. I would recommend the Quaker Inn to any and all that are heading to this part of the Jersey Shore. It is a class operation that cares about their guests and treats them right.

Great location blocks from the beach and downtown. Super basic - We were ready to leave after one night. Bathrooms are in the lowest quality finishes. The towels and sheets leave a lot to be desired. The porch and location are the selling points.

The hotel is well located and very close to the beach. We were able to watch the 4th July parade from the balcony. Jerry and Kevin were super nice and welcoming, always making sure my family was having fun. We went to have ice cream at “Waves” located at the sister property just a few blocks away. Rooms super clean and comfortable, definitely we will come back.
