We just returned from our 4th stay at Joe and Kelsey’s Inn at Ocean Grove and we can’t wait to return next summer. Ashley the Innkeeper was welcoming at check-in; we booked our favorite room - 4th floor walk-up - wood narrow staircases because the home is historic! If you can’t carry your bags up narrow flights, pack lighter. Room A/C works very well. Southern Exposure on top floor is steps from the shared game room and rooftop deck. King bed - comfortable - futon sofa, chest of drawers, extra bedding, fridge with separate freezer and renovated full bath with tub. We bring drinks and snacks and the fridge works well. Coffee, tea, fruit infused water is available all day. Cookies at night. Bottled water, canned soda and iced tea available for purchase (honor system). Full hot breakfast daily - delicious! $8 daily beach badges and chairs and umbrellas are available to rent. 1.5 blocks from the boardwalk. Just a wonderful stay!

Absolutely amazing! We loved staying at the Inn. We rented 4 rooms between different family members and had a great time. We stayed in Vermont Room (3rd floor), Savannah Room (3rd floor), Southern Exposure (4th Floor), and Summer Cottage A (side building). All rooms were excellent!
Joe and Kelsey are amazing hosts and very responsive to texts/questions. All the staff is great. There is a beautiful rooftop deck that we enjoyed at night after dinner. Great for socializing. There is also a room with a couch on the 4th floor for gatherings/gaming systems for young kids. Breakfast every morning was delicious!!! Each morning there was a specialty option, as well as eggs and bacon plus homemade breads and muffins. My mouth is watering just thinking about the delicious egg sandwich Joe made.
You can get a beach pass through them ($8 daily), which is $2 cheaper than purchasing at the beach entrance.
The inn is a quick walk to the beach, it's in a perfect location. The inn is also not a far walk to Asbury Park (leisurely walk took us about 20 minutes).
With traveling with a young baby and all the beach stuff they need, having a room on the 4th floor could have been a little complicated, but luckily, we had a parking spot right out in front to pack away our stuff each day. Make sure when selecting your room you are paying attention to which floor it is on.
Overall we had a great time and cannot wait to come back! The Inn was perfect for a vacation with family! Thank you Joe, Kelsey and staff.

My husband found The Ocean Grove Inn doing a Google search. Reviews were great and this lovely little gem lived up to the reviews. He booked it two days prior to our arrival. We had a nice room on the 4th floor, up a few sets of steps. View of beach, very clean and updated. The breakfast meals we were served were excellent. The staff consists of very nice and knowledgeable people. The owners couldn’t have been nicer as well. Beach passes are available (at a discount) and they allowed us to use the bathroom etc for changing after we checked out. We rode bikes all over, walked into Asbury Park, saw a show at The Stone Pony, hit the beach, ate at a few restaurants and had a fabulous weekend. Highly recommend The Inn at Ocean Grove.

I am writing this review whilst sitting in the 4th floor entertainment room. I have a pillow behind my back so I don’t feel the iron bar on the back of the sofa. There is a pleasant roof top patio which we never got to use because of the wind and rain remnants of Helene. In all fairness, we only have familiarity with one of the guest rooms which is The Tamarind on the third floor. The bed was comfortable and the window air conditioner unit worked well although we really only needed it the first night because of the crazy humidity. Otherwise, we were able to open windows. Furnishings were spartan, but the queen bed was comfortable. There was one tiny lamp. The bathroom was very clean, and there was a 6 inch unmarked drop off from the bedroom into the bathroom. We only had to trip twice to remember it. I would suggest a nightlight at the very least. Seating in the bedroom consisted of the queen bed, and a folded up pull out bed which was extremely uncomfortable to sit upon. You could feel the entire frame. I would say the bedroom was good for sleeping as long as you didn’t need the pull-out bed. I can only imagine how horrible it would be to sleep on it, after having sat on it. We stayed for 4 nights and grew very weary of the incessant rain which is not the fault of the hotel. Hotel provides shampoo and conditioner and a small bar of soap. There was also a hair dryer and a small fridge/freezer combo in the room. Breakfast was provided. Food was fine, but after eating it 3 mornings in a row I’ve had enough. “Innkeepers” (hired help) were accommodating. They provide dishes, glasses and flatware should you need them, and there is spa water available at all times. I think there is also a microwave available. The downstairs dining room is cute and there is seating with tables on each of the patios. There was nothing about this particular inn that would draw me back again. But I just love Ocean Grove and the Jersey Shore. ❤️

This was my first time staying at the Inn at Ocean Grove, but was the 2nd time for my friend who booked the trip. She had remembered how clean and hospitable they were pre-pandemic and felt they'd be a safe place to visit during this pandemic. And she was right! We were so pleased with our stay. The rooms, and Inn were so clean. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Very close to the beach and center of town. We rented bikes one morning and rode into Asbury Park - it was a great ride. At the Inn everyone wore masks, they served us our food outside, and once we checked into our rooms they didn't come in to our rooms to clean or change out linens unless we asked them to. We did have one incident where the linens on the twin bed had some stains on them. We brought it to the attention of the innkeeper and immediately they took action- removing those sheets from rotation and replacing it with the pure white crisp bed sheet that was intended to be there.. They were so beyond apologetic and explained themselves very well. It was an obvious oversight that was missed by housekeeping, and they couldn't have been quicker to rectify the situation and apologize. If they handled this oversight any other way, I would not have been happy and they definitely would not have received the 5 starts I'm giving them. To have had a short vacation at the beach that was enjoyable and relaxing during a time of high anxiety was priceless. Thank you Inn at Ocean Grove! I felt very safe vacationing with you.

I've been to this inn on three occasions this season, and it got better each time. The new owners have done a fabulous job renovating and decorating. The rooms are comfortable and spotless, and they have different sizes depending on your needs and budget. If you're staying a few days, I would recommend one of the "Cottage" rooms that comes with a kitchenette, for example. The manager is a great guy and understands how to deliver excellent customer service: he went above and beyond for us on several occasions. The inn has a commercial-grade kitchen and prepares a free breakfast each morning with a variety of foods. I stayed here a few years ago under the previous owners: while it was nice then, it's a much better experience now. The location is excellent too: 1.5 blocks from the beach, 1.5 blocks from the quaint "downtown" of Ocean Grove, where the restaurants are. Highly recommended!

Just a couple of old besties getting together for an overnight trip to the Jersey shore, and what an absolute delight our accommodations turned out to be!! The moment we arrived, we fell in love with the place. Joe, the owner, met us and showed us around. He took us to our charming little room with its newly renovated bathroom/shower with thick towels that smelled so good, and the comfiest, fluffiest bed ever! Everything was immaculate. We were so charmed by this inn that we decided to forego our original dining plans and instead picked up good from one of the recommended restaurants, and ate outdoors at a cute little bistro table on the second floor balcony. After dinner we took our libations to the beautifully decorated and amazingly lighted rooftop setting where we sat for hours and chatted and enjoyed our view of the ocean as well as that of the charming rooftops of Ocean Grove. The following morning we were excited to get to breakfast where there were all kinds of breakfast beverages, and where Michelle took our orders for what was an incredible breakfast— thanks to the culinary expertise of Joe! We felt so pampered and truly hated to leave there to return home. We have told our friends and families about this amazing place and we are very excited to return—again and again! Huge thanks and kudos to the owners and staff of The Inn at Ocean Grove!!!!

My sister and I recently spent 3 nights at this charming B&B. Kelsey and Joe are such friendly, helpful and gracious hosts. They truly love what they do. Joe greeted us upon arrival, gave us a tour, acquainted us with our lovely room and B&B policies, than carried all our luggage up to our room in one trip. As two people with some health/mobility issues, this was greatly appreciated! Our room was just as pictured/described on their website, very clean and smelled so fresh. The beds and pillows were amazingly comfy, we haven't slept that well in months! Breakfast is served every morning with regular selections and delicious, creative daily specials. Everything was yummy! Don't miss the rosemary potatoes and the selection of fresh baked breads and muffins. Shout out for the Nutella filled banana nut muffins! And there were warm freshly baked cookies every day in the late afternoon. Joe does the baking and you can taste the love in every bite. Available throughout the day were coffee, tea and fruit infused water. All the staff was attentive and helpful. Keith, Michelle and Ashley made our stay special as well. Kelsey was always around to chat, answer questions, offer helpful suggestions and make us feel right at home. The inn offers several common areas to relax and take in the cool ocean breezes such as the front porch, second floor deck and roof top deck, all with plenty of comfortable seating and beautiful potted flowers and hanging baskets. The beach is just a block and a half away, so location is perfect. Sorry this review is so long, but I just didn't want to forget anything. My sister and I really needed this escape from some stressful times at home and this far exceeded our needs and expectations.

We had a delightful stay at the inn which was a delightful little respite and retreat. The owners and innkeepers are all extremely helpful and take great pride in providing a memorable and comfortable stay. Our room was cozy and clean with a very comfortable bed and little ocean view. We loved viewing the stars from the rooftop terrace at night and the convenient location just a block from the beach. Breakfast was fabulous as well, especially the special banana French toast! We will definitely be back!

We just got back from our stay at the Inn and couldn't wait to write a review! The Inn was just what we needed for our overnight trip. It was only two blocks from the beach and had ample parking on the street. The bed was extremely comfortable and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious surprise as everything was so fresh and good! My husband and I are already trying to plan when we can go back!

It's the in the second block from the beach, short distance. You can see the ocean from the porches. However, I'm not sure what's going on with this property. George Mapp was the manager/inn keeper and his name is no longer on the website at all. And you can't make reservations online currently. I will miss George and his hospitality, but I hope The Inn will remain an option as a place to stay.
