Stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel was clean and well appointed. I had a 1 Queen room near the pool.

It was decorated nicely in a beachy theme. The bathroom was clean and maintained; the room had a shower stall which was sufficient for me. There was a small refrigerator in the room as well, which was great.

Beach passes were available on all days including checkout day, you were allowed to use the private beach, pool and facilities (they offer a bathroom for you to use in the laundry area which was nice since public restrooms are quite a way down the boardwalk.).

They also offer fresh coffee in the morning at the same location.

Overall it was a nice stay - nothing super fancy but, the room was clean and updated. I would definitely stay again.

I've been staying at the Windswept for over a decade. I usually stay the weekend after Labor Day. Kids are back at school and the weather is still beautiful. I am loyal to a fault but I've always enjoyed my stay. The location is great for me. Right on the beach, private beach entrance for guests, complimentary coffee, tea, and beach passes, and walkable to the Tiki Bar, cheap eats, and Kids' rides (for those with little ones). The rubber mat on the ramp leading to the sand was a big hit for me this year! I also think the rates are fair. This is not a luxury hotel. However, it's clean with an ideal location.

I've read some other reviews and can understand some of the complaints. Some guests do tend to "take over" the pool and lounge area. Especially guests that have rooms in those areas. Some guests are loud into and through the night as well. However, I don't think this is a reflection of the Windswept staff. What are they supposed to do other than ask folks to be considerate? Personally, I've never been disturbed by other guests. As far as folks trying to "take over" certain areas....I enjoy what I want when I want as a paying guest. The only thing I have noticed is that the bedding (mattress, pillows, etc.) has been less than what I expect. Perhaps it's time for new mattresses. Overall, the staff, from the front desk, to housekeeping, couldn't be friendlier or more pleasant. I will continue to return, God Willing, unless I opt for a change after all of these years.

We were in rooms 103 and 104. This was great location because you can park right in front of your door and the pool is a few doors down. However, the coffee counter is also right there so if you want to sleep late you may not appreciate all the voices in the morning. The beach entrance is close. Every employee we came in contact with was friendly and helpful. The two things that kept me from giving it a rating of 5 were first, I wish there was a picnic table or two outside so we could have all eaten together and second, the beach at the end of the ramp was private so we had to walk down a block to set up.

One star only because it was clean. People were partying and loud - up all hours of the night screaming and fighting directly next to us. There's no smoking on the balconies yet our rooms REEKED of smoke because those people smoked on the balconies and it came right through the windows that were closed but the cheap slatted glass let it all in. We got two rooms on NY Ave upper floor towards the office. We called the office around 11 the first night and security picked up and told them to stop. They continued until about 3am. The next day we spoke with the front desk and they assured us that they were going to talk to them and it wouldn’t happen again. Around 11 o’clock the next night they started battling and screaming and smoking and talking about how they were high and falling all over the place and banging into the walls and on the balcony we tried calling the front desk for two hours but no one ever picked up. They finally must’ve passed out around 3 AM and the next morning we asked the front desk why there was no one picking up in the middle of the night and they said that there is no security on Tuesday nights. Mind you we paid an obscene amount for this hotel because the reviews said that it was family oriented and quiet and they did not tolerate partiers and yeah they did nothing about these rude inconsiderate guests. I would not recommend at all to anyone. Probably better staying off across the street at White Sands no partying whatsoever was going on over there I know they are shortstaffed but I would rather wait then not be able to sleep at night.

We stayed 2 nights and were very satisfied with our room. Very good basic motel steps away from beach. Room was clean and comfortable and the staff were accommodating and helpful. We had three gorgeous beach days made even better because our room was so close that we could easily take a short break and than go back to our beach spot. You can rinse off the sand and salt by the pool area before going back to the room. There was a beautiful harvest moon on our last evening there. We will be back next year.

We stayed at the Windswept 6/24-6/27! Room 108. Very disappointed with our room. Rug was damp, dresser was musty smelling so couldn't put my clothes in it. Plastic shade on door was useless as it wasn't wide enough to cover opening. Verticals on window half broken. Is it really a queen size bed?? More full size I think. We didn't use housekeeping services, made our own bed up & just asked for fresh towels, and after paying $819.58 for our stay, we asked on the last day if we could leave our car in our spot until 11 as we were meeting grandchildren at the Food Shack, we were told absolutely NOT!!!
Before our stay I recommended your motel to friends, I have since told them of our experience.
You need to update and put a little TLC into your place.

Returning from a stay in Ocean City NJ and wanted to extend our vacation one more day. Everything booked. Took our chances and landed at the Windswept. Got the last room available -101 next to the office. Nothing fancy but had everything we needed. Staff was so friendly and after you check out you can stay at the beach, use the pool and change in their restroom. Would definitely come back and try for an ocean front room.

Way exceeded expectations! Based on the web site- was expecting a run of the mill cheesy motel. It was super cute, very clean and nice rooms, clean and warm pool and definitely right on a beautiful beach. Coffee in the morning was great and the lady in charge of housekeeping was very helpful. My only complaint was that the beach was closed. I wish we knew that before we arrived. Other than that, it was a very pleasant stay.

Won’t be back. Needs desperately to be updated. Ants all over room, uncomfortable beds, old sheets, chipped old bathtub, no housekeeping, old vertical shade that doesn’t really work. Messed up my reservation no apologies given a room with a balcony overlooking parking lot instead of what I was told when I reserved months ahead. Too bad as location is fantastic
