Detailed Reviews
The room was very clean and you could tell that the staff was doing a great job keeping the resort clean in these times of the virus. All the staff were very cordial .The pool staff was constantly wiping down door knobs, handles, and any surface that could be possible exposed.
The bathrooms were spotless and sanitized . I felt very safe . The beach area was clean and there was more then enough room to set up our chairs and umbrella. The boardwalk was close by . The pools were very clean with plenty of lounge chairs to use. I only had one problem . The cook in the Lido Cafe was not wearing his mask properly while preparing the food.

As far as jersey shore hotels/motels go you know your really not going to find 5 star accomodations near the beach. that being said I would rate this property at least 3. which is better than 80 percent of beach front properties youll find south of long branch. The main building is very nice with an indoor pool and lounge that serves food as well as a "spa". I prefer the 200 building as it sits on both the beach and one of 2 outdoor pools. there is also a snack bar on this side as well a bar. one big plus is that they do have poolside service which is very hard to find. I would have like to use the pool earlier than 12 as we had arrived early. we also could not use the private beach as they would not give us wristbands until 12. this all understandable as the crowds would have built up from overlapping check outs vs check ins. another plus is they let you use the pools after check out, very hard to find. I would recommend this hotel to any seeking a cleaner than average jersey shore hotel with nice amenities.

I have been coming to both this resort and the windswept next door for over 30 years. I understand the problems they are encountering with COVID. However they’ve really become your basic motel. I have two rooms on the ocean side which I’ve paid $400 a night per room. Each room has two bedrooms. Still not cheap.
What I’ve noticed. Each double room has one trash can. Small. Not even one in the bathroom. I’m a tipper and leave a note like extra toilet paper or towels. You need to list everything you need. I got my two rolls of to and my towels. No new wash clothes. Dirty ones left in tub. No coffee replenished or cups. Sand on floor. Also. Not letting people on the beach til 12 or in your room til 4 is ridiculous. But checkout is still 11. All because of COVID. Pool was cloudy. Didn’t go in. Definitely stepped down their game but not their prices

This was our first family trip to point pleasant. Searching for places to stay was difficult because we have small children and didn’t want to stay at just any motel. We chose white sands hotel bc of the amenities described on their website: spa, facials, mani, pedi and hair salon and indoor pool.
We had a room on the second floor near the salon- every single day it was closed. I asked the front desk how I could go about making an appointment for a pedicure and they said to call the number. I called, left a voicemail, but nobody called me back. We stayed for 5 days. When we got back home 2 days later I received a call from the “spa.” That’s one week after I left a voicemail!! What kind of customer service is this?? This is false advertisement on their part.
Customer service at the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. When we asked questions about local businesses in the area and where we could find places to do laundry or have breakfast, we were told to look on our smart phones. How do you not know where anything in your area is as a front desk clerk?? Very poor service and very disappointing because this was not a cheap stay!! The kind of money you would spend staying at a hotel in NYC.. This was our first and last stay at the white sands hotel.

+1
My family and I decided to book a 3 night stay at White Sands because it was middle point btw states for our family to meet have a little fun in the sun etc. However the White Sands website shows these beautiful rooms with amenities etc. When we reached the resort (not a resort at all) it was a rinky dink dates motel. We were given a tiny room that had sand in the sheets, dirty carpets and floors, dirty coffee machine maker, and no garbage cans. We contacted the front desk to tell them what we encountered, all they said was we will send housekeeping. I called back and asked for a manager, spoke to Andrea who said she would see if their was another room to move us too. Came back and they did not have any rooms available to move us to. But during check in I was told the hotel was booked at 25% occupancy..how can there not be any rooms to move us to. She rudely stated and said, if we left we would not be refunded for the balance of our stay which was two nights. My family and I drove far to come here, I believe there was more that they could have done. I wish I could have left, I have 2yr old and teenager was not easy to accept these accommodations, I travel every year and stayed I at super 8 that were cleaner and more accommodating and understanding. The rating is a because I could not give a 0. The pool and beach was nice and that's all. If you care about cleanliness, hospitality, care, and consideration this is not the place to stay. When coming to point pleasant beach...please seek other lodgings.

Response from Christina Chiaia Ranuro, General Manager at The White Sands Oceanfront Resort & Spa
Responded 7 Jul 2020
Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry you were not happy with your room. We do have very nice, clean rooms. We were at 25% occupancy. In order to accomodate with Covid-19, we were recycling our rooms and the main hotel was closed. Therefore, we did not have another room available at that time. In these unprecedented times we are working with a short staff while trying to keep everyone safe. I do hope you will reconsider and come again.

Wish I could give a 0. Every room has issues. Staff lies & management only cares about their money. We had to move 4 times. A swarm of mosquitoes on the porch ended up In our room. Plumbing issues in 2 rooms. We had no bathroom for two days. I was first told to run the water for 15 minutes. Then told I could shower at the pool area. Never offered compensation for loss of bathroom and time. Management said we can stay extra Monday or leave. Well who wants to leave and disappoint their child on Memorial Day weekend and have to search for a new hotel when nothing is available near by. Terrible customer service. The lounge and cafe food is horrible. Takes 45 minutes to come out, you think it would taste good. Jacuzzi doesn’t work at indoor pool. Staff makes you return towels with an honor system however they don’t even clean up the pool area with the towels that aren’t returned. At the end of our stay we asked for at least a 20% discount since we wasted so much time moving rooms and not relaxing and all management could say was there’s nothing they could do. To top if off, they over charged us after we checked out. My husband called to complain and they first refused to return our money. So we had to send an email with our original confirmation to management. They finally then agreed to refund us the difference. I will never recommend this place to anyone. If anything I’ll tell them to run. Btw- management says they’ve been in business for 80 years and always have returning business. BBB SITE shows 39 years and there are complaints. I wish I would have checked before we booked. Also we walked by the Presidential suite and saw the door open. It wasn’t much bigger than the handicapped room we moved into last since there apparently was no other room available. Only difference looked like dresser was bigger. Save your money.

I recently stayed at the white sands resort & spa in point pleasant New Jersey on 8/27-8/29. At first arrival I was very impressed with the lobby and what it had to offer.
Having been Meeting Planner for 15 years I look for the good and what needs improvement. We didn’t receive a welcome from the check in clerk. We were told they will contact us when room was ready. I had to call at 4:30 and was told it was ready. We went to the Lido Cafe for lunch which was great to choose 3 different places to sit
Outside overlooking the ocean, inside with air conditioning or the glass enclosed overlooking the pool. Coffee prices at $4 for a cup is a bit high. I purchased ice cream and the person serving us looked like he was in middle school not wearing gloves.
The room had ants in the bathroom, sink and table which I was killing all weekend. Rug looked new but was filthy. My feet and socks were black. The Lock chain on the door took 20 minutes to get off it was so tight. Dirty tissues under night stand,
refrigerator didn’t work. Gym machines didn’t work. When I checked out the same person I told about the problems just said “I’m sorry it wasn’t satisfactory” never making eye contact.
The location is great. The facility has things to do indoor but needs to be fixed. Cleaning crew need to be trained on doing a better job. I had to Clorox wipes everything there were smudges all over the walls. Light switches and bulbs missing in the room.
Air conditioner worked very well. Beds were comfortable but had stains. Room was small but comfortable. Curtains were not on the track and being on the first floor felt uncomfortable with people looking in.
During this time of COVID you need better cleaning and ants spray.
I don’t think I would return for the price I paid

White sands review for trip adviser
Best and most relaxing vacation.
There's several different buildings and types of rooms here to fit everyone's needs.
The main building that's the most updated has a banquet hall. I will be inquiring about having a destination party there next time i stay here. I noticed that couples have destination weddings here ; a ceremony on the beach 🏖 is something i would like to do
I stayed in one of the other buildings where it was like a 3-minute walk to the beach
White Sands in point pleasant New Jersey, has a private beach
And what a beautiful 🏖 beach it is
it's not crowded and clean.
There are two pools and a restaurant to get coffee and breakfast.
I like it because it is A family-owned business. They care about the guest
The people that work here are wonderfully friendly and helpful.
My room accommodated me perfectly
It was not as updated as the main building.
It was clean and spacious. I also had a small deck and lounge chairs.
There was a refrigerator and a coffee maker, and i love the pillows.
This hotel is located at the very end of the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. Makes it an easy 7-minute walk from the White Sands Hotel the action on the Point Pleasant Boardwalk.
It was a quick walk to Jenkinson's, Martells and Joey Tomatoes.
I am returning this season and bringing more friends and family to enjoy this relaxing, friendly spacious private beach hotel.
If you're going to stay in point Pleasant Beach NJ
I believe this is the best place to stay

They gave a man a copy of my key who I have a restraining order against and I called to complain and nobody would get back to me until I threatened legal action. The manager on the phone instead blamed me that I didn’t tell her that I was in such a situation and I said I’ve never heard of a hotel just giving keys to random people. All she offered was 15% off my next day after blaming me for having a complete psychopath enter my room. The room smells like complete mildew, You are only given one towel which you have to keep trading in, They were tons of flies in my room, and it was worse than any motel 6 experience other than the fact of what happened. The teenagers that work at the café are too busy socializing with each other to even look at you, And the carpet feel so dirty in the room that you have to wear shoes the whole time. Just really bad customer service they don’t give a sh-t

One night in this “resort/hotel” was enough!!! The website advertised restaurants, bar, spa, which none were open most days during the week, hot tub is broke, place is completely worn and dirty. I completely understand being short-staffed and the place not running they way it may of in the past years but what we encountered was unacceptable.
We check in to the hotel around 8:30 PM greeted by an associate that was completely medicated and out of his mind. Our heads were spinning after 15 minutes of standing front of him!
We were told we were in the building across the street. We entered the room with a “balcony” and “view of the ocean view”, I use those words loosely!! Come to find out within 5 mins to being in the room that it’s infested with mosquitoes!!! Myself and my family literally got bitten up several times within minutes of being in the room. We quickly packed our bags and went back over to the front desk where we asked for a full refund. We were told by the manager that we were offered a upgrade for free but because she’s offering us an upgrade we would not be able to give a refund. Obviously by this time it was too late to look for a new place and we were forced to stay in the “upgraded room” which we agreed to. It looked much better than the first room, decently clean. Come to find out when we put our bags down and plug our charger in there was a pile of beer cans behind the end table which were never cleaned up, underneath the bed was filthy, the tv didn’t work, the refrigerator did work and the water in the shower was the coldest I believe I’ve ever felt! The next morning I went downstairs to check out I said something to the woman at the front desk and showed her pictures of how filthy the room was. She never offered a refund. I said are we getting any money back and she said there wouldn’t be anyone there until the afternoon to speak with us. I told her I would be back to speak to the owner who they said would be there later that day. I ended up not bothering to go back because I wanted to enjoy my last day at the beach and I didn’t want fight over money. Honestly it wasn’t about getting a refund it was about the lack of disrespect that they have for the guest. I’ve been a successful retail GM for many years and I’ve always tried to make the customer happy. The guest shouldn’t have to beg for a refund it should be offered to them to compensate for the wrongs of the business. Do yourselves a favor and listen to your guest reviews before you’re out of business.

Honestly, I cannot recommend this place..its filthy. During a pandemic at least they can thoroughly clean the rooms. Please if you children find other accommodations in pt pleasant.
