We stayed here for two days to attend an outdoor wedding in Seabright. I have mixed reviews because the hotel lacked attention to detail. During this time of covid, I felt perfectly safe here. They check your temp every time you enter the lobby and there is hand sanitizer at on all floors. I just felt the hotel lacked the amenities needed. Here is the the good - great friendly staff, view from King River View room beautiful, extremely comfortable bed, large room, good food, outdoor dining and space below hotel for outdoor hanging, window in the room opened for fresh air. What it lacked was the following: the only vending machine out of water, diet coke all weekend (no place to walk to get any water), shades were perforated and broken so light came in at the crack of dawn. Water in shower kept changing temperature depending upon who else in the hotel was using water. No reciprocity with Molly Pitcher Hotel to use their pool even though the card key to enter your room has both names on it.
Would I go back, I would likely stay at the Molly Pitcher since we would be able to use the pool and much more outside area.

As the saying goes, ‘location, location, location’, and The Oyster Point Hotel certainly has that. Located along the estuary and close to a wide range of shops and restaurants, it has a lot to recommend it,

Unfortunately, the devil is in the details and for an establishment that tries for Boutique status, it falls short. In our View Room, overlooking the water, there were bare hooks on the wall where artwork had been removed. The stopper in the bathtub did not work. The safe in the room did not work. The walls were so thin that we could clearly understand a casual conversation in the neighboring room.

The staff was extremely enthusiastic and friendly, but other than sympathy, they could do nothing about the room’s failings. I should add that the hotel restaurant, The Pearl, which is reviewed separately, was quite nice.

So, overall, a stay that could have been a joy turned out to be…adequate.

There are evidences of this being an older hotel with updates but the view of the Navesink River along with its relaxed light atmosphere keep me coming back whenever I’m in the area. Quiet with a friendly, responsive staff and comfortable bar. Again, just can’t beat the view.

We were in room 511, facing the Navesink River. The views are incredible. The space in the rooms is great. Beds are great and towels are really superior bath sheets. In addition to stellar view the room had a mini-fridge, a safe, and a separate Make-up/ coffee bar area. But the furniture is really beat up. Im not one to nit pick but the room needs painting as well as a good refresh.
The wall/ window type AC struggled to keep up, and the bathroom area didnt get any cool air at all.
The bathroom was clean, but is old and horrible- shockingly so- we’ve been in cheap hotels that have been better. Definitely needs new fixtures and a complete gut renovation.
For some reason the hallway was un-air conditioned, extremely humid..
The employees are really great, front desk, bar, and restaurant for delicious breakfast. While checking out my husband mentioned an issue we’d encountered in our room. To our surprise Guest Services employee Jeff tracked us down with a phone call an hour later and offered a nice discount. We hadnt asked for a thing, but this shows what responsible great employees can add to an experience.

If you're thinking of here for a wedding venue please consider your guests. The parking is barely sufficient which is a problem when you have hundreds of guests arriving at once. But if you want them to get ready beforehand? Forget about it! 3pm check-in with a 5pm required start? 3pm is "as available" because they can't turn the rooms over fast enough. Staff was rude from the get go, I get you are asked the same question 100 times but it's literally my first time inquiring for clarity and it's quite honestly the job. Do not come here if you're a wedding guest expecting to get ready on time and if you're planning one, please think of your guests and go somewhere worth the price.

Hello, I am so sorry your experience with us at The Oyster Point Hotel fell short of your expectations. Thank you for your honest feedback about your stay with us, we truly appreciate you taking the time to let us know about the issues that caused your stay to be less than ideal. The points that you have made are certainly valid and would absolutely frustrate me as well were I in your position. We will be passing your review along to management to review your notes and help prevent situations like this in the future, as this truly does not reflect the typical Oyster Point experience. I would be happy to discuss your stay further if you would like to reach out to me directly at khanlon@mollypitcher-oysterpoint.com. All my best, Kelsey H. Front Office Manager

The only good thing I have to say about this hotel is that the bed was pretty comfortable. The rooms were stark white decorated with a mix of 80s and current decor - very odd. But I can typically get past that. However I can’t remember the last time I stayed in a hotel that didn’t have blackout curtains. The blinds were simple vertical blinds that you’d find in an office so that at 6am I was wide awake. And coffee was nowhere to be found. Could not get replacement packets for in room coffee maker and coffee either just wasn’t available in the lobby or urn was empty. And no breakfast until 8am so no coffee available in restaurant. About half the staff seemed to not want to be there so service was mostly subpar. Just a really disappointing experience. 4 of my business colleagues stayed there 1-3 nights and we all had the same opinion. Will never stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone.

I am absolutely shocked and appalled by the lack of professionalism displayed by the Oyster Point hotel. We had been in contact with the Catering Events Manager Katie Glass; however, due to the sloppiness displayed by the entire Oyster Point Hotel staff, we have decided to book our Bridal Shower elsewhere.

Working in the event services, you would assume that the staff would be attentive, perceptive to the needs of the party, and competent. The catering event staff took days to respond and would ignore voicemails left on their phones (this was done multiple times). I was told by Ms Katie Glass that my event would be secured once they received the deposit and contract; however, no one ever forwarded me the contract nor information to secure the deposit. I was informed over a week later that the event hall I was interested in was no longer available and now only the hall which is 2x larger and requires the double amount of guests to book is available for my date. If anyone from the catering staff had called the phone number I listed as my contact, or attempted to email me as they stated they would, I could have been able to properly schedule and organize this event.

We are absolutely not interested in booking any events at the Oyster Point or Molly Pitcher hotel and will be sure never to recommend you or your services to our friends and family. Brides, be aware!

We booked our sons christening party at the Oyster point hotel. We were in Ballroom A. The menu that was provided to choose from was definitely not worth what we had paid. We ordered a mozzarella Tower for an appetizer and received a tomato and a piece of mozzarella a sliver of portobello. The chicken was supposed to have a sauce which it did not and also the same with the steak..i ordered a Mississippi mud pie for my guests and what i got looked like a chocolate crust/ shell with marshmallows and ice cream..the deck was completely unsafe and they should be checked by a buildings department because their 2nd floor railing was so loose..parents were scared to let their kids by it. This hotel was a safety hazard for my guest. We will not recommend for any future events

After reading reviews, we decided to try the Oyster Point Hotel for Valentine’s Day. My wife and her friend booked two Riverview deluxe rooms back during November and a confirmation was received for both rooms. In addition, several phone calls were made prior to Valentine’s Day to see if any holiday packages were available, which was recommended by the hotel. We arrived at the Oyster Point Hotel on Valentine’s Day at approximately 4:00 PM. Upon checking in, we were told that both reservations may have been lost due to a computer system change. After waiting additional time, the woman at the desk offered us one room with two double beds. This was ridiculous for two couples to share one room on Valentine’s Day. After expressing further disappointment, the woman then offered us two rooms at the Molly Pitcher Inn. The manager failed to meet with us and the woman at the desk did not offer any type of apology for their error. Our experience at the Molly Pitcher Inn was great. However, we will never consider the Oyster Point Hotel again.

I lived in Monmouth County for the first 24 years of my life. And in Red Bank for the last two of those years. I was familiar with Oyster Point, and I had driven past it like a million times. I’d stayed at its sister hotel, Molly Pitcher, before, so when many trips and events were canceled due to COVID, I treated my husband to an overnight to Red Bank at Oyster Point.

The COVID protocols were solid. Temp checks at the door. “Sneeze guards” were up at the front desk. Disinfecting Protocols were listed out.

I got a riverside view room, which was nice around sunset. However the room faces East, and well, you get a nice wake up call from the sun (Blinds were not, in fact, room darkening). If you’re okay with waking up that way, go for it. But it would make my decision easier to not stay on the river side.

The hotel itself could use an update. It looks more modern, especially compared to its sister hotel, but the rooms need more outlets (hello, first world problems, but could barely find an outlet to charge our phones!). The showers left a lot to be desired. Water pressure wasn’t great. The toiletries were nice though! There is a mini fridge to store your snacks or drinks.

And if you're a Mets fan...don't expect to watch your games here! Only YES Network available, not SNY. Had to stream on our phones, and the WiFi here is...not so "great."

I could not find a room service menu, which was annoying because I really wanted to be waited on haha. I know I could’ve called the front desk, but we were only there one night, and we just got some jersey bagels instead.

If you decide to stay in Red Bank, I’d suggest staying closer to the main roads (for us NYC walkers, it gets VERY dark in this area, virtually no lighting), and Molly Pitcher would be more desirable in that case.
