I essentially chose this establishment for its location at the doorstep of the parc national du Fjord du Saguenay. I mean, you're just a few minutes away from the gate. I had no expectations when I booked a bed in a 4-bed dormitory and I was pleasantly surprised. Located in the basement, the hostel portion of the Auberge du Presbytère is quite nice. I stayed in both a 3-bed and 6-bed dorms and the two rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable, the staff very friendly. There is a fully equipped kitchen that guests can use. A small convenience store is located right next to the hostel and the prices were more affordable than I would have thought. There is also a cantine serving food for lunch and dinner if you don't want to cook for yourself. Breakfast is also available for a 5$ fee. I didn't go for it, but other guests did and were satisfied with the variety and the portions. There is only one shower in the basement, which can make things tricky if there are a lot of guests. But though there were about 12 travelers staying there during my two nights there, it was never an issue. You simply need to pick your moments. This is a very nice and quiet sort of establishment, in a very small hamlet at the edge of the national park. There is no nightlife, no restaurants, no bars. So if you're looking for a peaceful place to hang your hat after a long day of hiking or enjoying the fjord, the Auberge du Presbytère is definitely the place to go! Would definitely go back!

We stayed at this former presbytère (home and office of the parish head priest) for one night and found the experience just perfect. SUPER CLEAN, no carpets, immaculate bathrooms, comportable beds (in the suite at least), friendly staff that knows their thing withoiut asking a million questions, a nice breakfast with croissants and pancakes, all in all, the best place to stay if your looking for a one or two nighter while taking in the local walking paths along the Fjord (you have to see the fjord to believe it!)
