Went alone for a quick getaway and met up with friends staying in Seaside and spent my time in Island Beach State Park.
So I really didn't spend much time in my room. I changed, showered and slept there. The bed was comfortable.
The room was clean and perfect size just for me. Bathrooms are small with just a shower, but I didn't mind it.
Great water pressure in the shower and they provided soap and shampoo. .
In the bathroom , I smelled a very faint cigarette smell maybe coming from another room?
They have a very small pool and that was perfectly fine! I took a dip after the beach to cool off. Someone was vacuuming it the next morning and she was really nice.
It's an older beach motel, but they pretty much take care of it. Friendly owners. I felt safe at night as well.

We recently stayed at the Anchor Motel with my son, daughter-in-law and 5 grandchildren. The location is close to the beach and boardwalk. We had the 3 bedroom apartment. It was clean and large. The bathroom appeared to be recently renovated with a good sized shower. The kitchen has a micro-wave, coffee maker, full size refrigerator and gas range with stove. The beds were comfortable and the A/C units were new. The family that operates the property was very friendly and welcoming. There is a small pool that everyone seemed to be enjoying. We would definitely return to the Anchor Motel.

Nice stay. To be clear the rooms and bathrooms are very small and the building is certainly showing its age. But the room was clean, and the staff friendly. We had a fridge and a microwave, but no coffee maker. There was one chair. Wi-Fi and TV worked fine. We slept well. Pool looked more modern then the rest of the facility and was clean. It was nice being able to park right outside the room. It’s only a five minute walk to the beach and boardwalk. Funny thing, it’s the only motel room I recall ever staying in that had zero art. Took me a while to realize what seemed different. It’s certainly a place I would return.

Friendly staff, room was nice size for the family with 2 rooms, pool area was clean as was the room. 7-11, liquor store, pizzeria and water park were all in great walking distance. Beach was not that far but with a lot to carry it would have been nice to have been a little closer. Overall very satisfied!

Location is fantastic if going to the beach. The building is very dated and rooms are small. The pool is very small as well. Rooms are clean and housekeeping did knock during our stay to see if we needed more towels are anything. The parking lot is small as well.

Listen, it’s not a five star resort. It’s somewhere easily accessible to the beach, and a cheap place to sleep and shower in between beach days and bar crawling. Perfectly suitable for what it is, which is for college kids looking to cheap out on a motel. The staff was great and very friendly, and the air conditioning was excellent during a heat wave. But I wouldn’t recommend it for a work trip or family vacation.

Not fancy but clean and the front desk/owners were helpful. The pool is not large but is clean. We were in the 8-person suite with four full beds. The beds were fine. A futon couch was in poor condition and should be replaced.. Bathroom and kitchen area were fine.

We stayed at the Anchor Motel on June 28. My family spent the day in Point Pleasant to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday. We made reservations at the Flamingo Motel, but unfortunately there was a fire.
We were contacted by the Flamingo and informed the Anchor would honor our reservation. The rate for the room was $200.00 for the night. The room was dirty, bedsheets were stained, mildew in the bathroom, the blinds were filthy and mangled. We were told the Anchor accepts AAA discounts, but when we check in we were told "it's too much of a hassle, we don't give any discounts" The nicest thing about the Anchor Motel was the pool and that wasn't much to brag about.

My friends and I have ritualistically made summer excursions to the Jersey shore knowing that we can find good times while on a college budget. In our travels to the shore we graced the Anchor Motel with our presence in 2004 and 2005. Despite its location two blocks from the beach, we found the facilities poor at best, but hey we weren’t expecting the Hotel California. For us the whole point of going away is to have a great time and consume mammoth amounts of spirits that eventually made this hovel we were staying at look like the Ritz Carlton. During our three day bender in 2004 we found the staff to be far from charming and more occupied with pestering us about our conduct. Making an executive decision is a key part of management. For example (asking us to leave), Instead they keep your security deposit and fabricate room damages for extra capital. In our second trip to the Anchor motel we requested the same room 16 which is the eight person suit we occupied the year before. There was great Evidence of crude penny-pinching from our deposits/damage charges from our prior stay. We were overwhelmed, from the dilapidated state of the rooms, the wretched plumbing (we reported our bath tap as not functioning and the kitchen faucet as functioning under the cabinet as opposed to the sink), and the most noted abomination however was the couch which looked like it was set ablaze at one time! Management was remotely 'hands-off', elicited not the slightest interest in its customers' well-being or otherwise. The only time management appeared to be solely motivated was through verbal abuse and telling its guests what they could and could not do. On the Anchor Motels website there is a picture of a pool, don’t be fooled its not in ground, barley chlorinated, and the broken down liner has so many waves it will likely taint you with ominous infections. In short the Anchor Motel is one of the worst maintained and managed hotels we have found in Seaside Heights. If you don't want to be ripped off and picked clean, do not go there. This is a management that does not deserve to be in business.
