Detailed Reviews
We were here last week. It is just two blocks from the broad walk and one block from the water park. We got a better deal for three nights. And it was cost effective. Manager was very kind and accommodating. We used grill several times, the swimming pool was amazing. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

I stayed at the Belmont TWICE this summer. I had never stayed there before, but after doing some searching the Belmont looked to be exactly what I wanted in a motel. Remarkably clean, well appointed rooms with a great swimming pool that you actually wanted to go in! I took my sons and their friends at the end of the school year in June. We rented one of the newly renovated deluxe suites and it was perfect. 2 TV's, 2 A/C's, a fridge and microwave. I returned just this past weekend, Labor Day, with my boyfriend and we rented an efficiency, pool side. Even though this efficiency wasn't renovated as of yet, it was just as suitable. Clean, comfortable and priced right. Thanks to Kathy, Tony and their "SON" Mohammed...............it was a great summer, beginning and end! See you guys next year! Oh, one more thing. Like they always say, "location, location, location". The Belmont's is perfect for the beach, boardwalk, 7-11 and dining on the Boulevard.

Let me first start off by saying the hosts were very helpful. With that being said, it would have helped to say that it was located directly across the street from the local firehouse. Luckely the siren didnt go off at night. It did during the day.
We travel quite abit. One thing that I'm sure we all like is a thick and soft bath towel. Not the case here. Also some soft tissues and toilet paper. Again not the case here. How about soap that doesnt break apart. These are a few things that we would've liked to have. I must say we had a nice time. Would we go back to the same establishment again. More than likely no. Mainly because we would like to have something directly on the beach not 2 blocks away.

This writer is honest and fair in his opinions. And I appreciate the feedback. I checked into the soap situation and realized that it got brittle over the winter from the cold in our storage room. Bought new soap... problem solved. Towels? OK he's right about that, they are a bit small, problem is, the bigger and thicker they are, the more we lose. BUT, did buy new, bigger, plusher towels, this year, even have beach towels upon request. About our distance from the boardwalk; most of our customers stay at the Belmont Motel precisely for that reason, it is very quiet in the evenings being away from the noise and crowds, their children get a good nights sleep here. We love our customers but sometimes it is difficult to balance customer satisfaction and economic feasibility but we always do our best, and thanks to customer input, we just keep getting BETTER! Thanks!

Upon arrival Im told the WIFI only works in the parking lot. I was there for a business meeting the next morning and needless to say I never checked in. The next morning my credit card was charged and it took a full week for the matter to be resolved. I was forced to file a credit card dispute. Look elsewhere!

One of the most uncomfortable customer service experiences I ever had, the main office was dirty and smelt terrible. The manager, complained about her day non stop while checking us in. Our room had clearly not been cleaned. We left immediately.

My husband and I planned a mini vacation over the Fourth of July weekend. We had been some tough times lately with my 7 year old niece dying of brain cancer, my 49 yr. old mother of colon cancer and 15 year old nephew, struck and killed by a 18 wheeler, all in a matter of 2 years time and needed some laughter, fun and relaxation. To top it off, Just a month ago, my brother, the father of the two deceased children, was diagnosed with rectal cancer and prognosis is not good. He decided to come up to NJ to visit while he was off of Chemotherapy and We (my husband and I) decided that we were going to surprise them when they came up from West Virginia, (due to arrive on Friday the 2nd) and bring them to Seaside Heights, a place we come quite a bit. The only difference was, we usually stay at Sunburst Motel and the only room availalbe was 1 efficiency, so we called around and went online and that is when we came across the Belmont. We saw that they had "Luxury Suites" 2 Queen size beds and a pull out sofabed. The pictures on their website looked great and the Luxury Suite looked big, so I called. I got a gentleman on the phone and asked if they had any of these "Luxury Suites" available. He said that he did and then asked how many adults and children. I told him that there would be 4 adults and 4 children ages 11,12,13 and 17. I asked if he could accomodate us and he said that this "Luxury Suite sleeps 6-10. I then told him I would call him right back because he said that it would be $259.00 per night and I needed to run it by my husband. When I called back, a woman answered and I told her that I had spoke to a man before and that we wanted to book the "Luxury Suite" for July 2-5. When she quoted the price, she said that it would be &279.00/night. I said to her how could it have gone up by $20.00 that fast when the gentleman said $259.00. She said that that was the amount and did I want the room or not. I said yes and gave her my credit card information to pay the deposit to hold the room. Firday came. My children, my husband and I were extremely excited, especially knowing that we had this big secret from my brother and couldn't wait for them to get to NJ. Well, he was a little sick from his chemo treatment the day before, so they didn't leave WV on time, so my husband decided to go ahead with our three children and I would come later on when my brother arrived with his family. I called the hotel and spoke to a gentleman again and told them that my husband and children were coming because check in was at 1:00 pm and he couldn't get there until after 7pm. We did so so that they wouldn't think we weren't coming and as a courtesy. He was a little rude and it left me with a bad feeling in my gut. I shook it off though and waited anxiously for my brother and family. Around 7:30pm, my husband and son called to tell me how small the room was, unlike the pictures online and that the man, who turned out to be the owner was terribly rude and followed them or watched every move everyone seemed to make. He said that the guy said that the room was reserved in a woman's name, which was mine. My husband explained to him that I was his wife. At that point he said that the man seemed to follow and watch every mood they made and they felt very uncomfortable. Any way, my family arrived about 9:30pm here in Maplewood at my home. A 7 hour drive for them. I greeted them and told them not to unpack and instead brought my overnight bags out and put them in the trunk and gave them directions. We arrived in Seaside approximately 11pm. We pulled beside my husband's car and began unpacking. This man approached us and told us not to park there. I explained to him that we weren't parking just unloading, because the hotel only provided one space per room. Well the man stayed and was talking to my brothers. At this point I was in the room putting down my things and in shock how different the room looked and not so roomy. Before I knew it the man followed my brothers and his son up and came inside and rudely said that WE COULD NOT STAY, WE HAD TO LEAVE THE ROOM NOW! He said so RUDELY AND DISRESPECTFULLY. He was talking to me and my family who had just came. I asked him why. He started saying that it was TOO many and the capacity for the room was only 6. I told hi, that it was bullcrap because when I called and spoke to the gentleman and made the reservations with the woman, they said it was fine, the room slept up to ten and now they are preaching a different tune. At that time he announced he was the owner. I told him that we weren't going anywhere unless we got our money back. He said he wasn't giving me NOTHING back that we had booked the room and that those of us who just came had to leave now or he was calling the police. I told him to call because I wanted to talk to the police so I could have a report. He did exactly that. We had paid nearly $1000.00 to these people. The cops came and unfortunately, there wasn't anything they could do because of course the owner is telling "his story". They (the police) felt sympathetic for us being we had came so far and my family all of the way from West Virginia, and offered to try and help us find lodging but the man refused to give our money back. He said that my husband could stay with my three kids and of course he knew they weren't going to do that. He actually kept ONE NIGHTS MONEY even though NONE OF US EVER STAYED THE NIGHT! MY husband and children were there only 3 hours. IN MY OPINION, they crooked us and the the owner, DEFINITELY DOESN'T HAVE ANY COMPASSION OR CUSTOMER SERVICE OR APPRECIATION SKILLS! HE IS DEFINITELY IN IT FOR MONEY! We are not going to travel a total of 9 hours to go to a hotel if we didn't have proper reservations! It is a shame that people are dishonest and take advantage! I have and will continue to tell everyone of this horrible experience. I read the review "Decent rooms...Sucky Service" and I read the response the wife of the owner of Belmont Motel. She was defending her husband and that is understandable, but I am sure that they're more customers that feel the same, but unfortunately, people don't speak out enough or follow through, because if they did, then maybe the owner of Belmont would not feel so free to treat hard working citizens like his peasants! I hope that the money he squandered from us made him feel great because he sure broke my little girl and boy's hearts and stole my brother's surprise away and turned our holiday, and possibly my brother's last Holiday, into a nightmare!

I knew that this review was coming, I don't believe that people can lie like this! This reservation was made for two adults and three children. Our suites have two queen beds and a sofa bed. That is a maximum of six people. NO ONE would ever tell these people that they could sleep ten people in this unit. As a matter of fact, when the husband checked in, his wife was not with him. I questioned how many people were in his party because he has four teenagers with him. I showed him the reservation, and asked him how many people were in his family, he said that his wife was coming later, alone. He filled out the registration card, which I still have, for six people. I didn't even charge him for the extra teenager. Then later that evening, his wife showed up with four more people. My husband told them they absolutely could not sleep in the room because, as per the town's occupancy rules, we were not allowed to sleep more than six people in the room. That's when they came up with the story that "someone" told them that they could have ten people in the room. I also have a copy of the reservation. The wife didn't arrive until about 12:30 am. When they refused to rent another room for the additional people, and began to scream obscenities off the balcony, we were forced to call the police. We asked them to leave the property and refunded the balance of their money for the next two days. Of course we kept the one night's rental fee. They had possession of the room and use of the facilities for the better part of the day, not to mention we were unable to re-rent the room that evening. These people would like to believe that they were cheated, but in fact, they were trying to cheat us. We have a nice clean establishment because we do NOT allow overcrowding of our units. These letters are always written by people who cannot or will not follow simple rules. To all of you who read these reviews, read between the lines.

Never in my life have i been so angry disgusted and scared all at the same time staying at a hotel. .Words can not describe what me and my family went thru while staying at this so called "MOTEL".
DIRTY , DISGUSTING , NO SERVICE AT ALL.
From the first minute we got there we had to deal with a lady who was the owner of the place and could not cntrol her temper for one minute. She siezes the oppurtunity to get people there and with her gimmicks of "two nights or three nights minimum makes you sign papers and charges you big amounts of money with no refunds underneath.just watch out for her sneaky charactor.
They charged me 390 dollars a night for a disgusting smelly room and when i asked for a simple box of tissues , the only gentleman who worked there had to give me the box they were using in the office. what a service?
Thi genteleman a he put it was the entire staff of this so calle motel. As he said he was the manager , the maid , the maintnance guy and the peace maker between all the unhappy guests and the owners.
And if you get into a fight wiith them dont even think of calling the cops. they are right across the street and good buddies with owners.
My advice : skip this motel or skip this town or skip this state if you have to but do not under any circumstance go to this motel for even one night.
Do not fall for all the ----- reviews . This place is terrible.
A 40 dollar a night at any local motel in the US beats staying at this motel.

This customer called to make a reservation for an efficiency for five days starting on Friday, June 10. We explained to him that it was a "prom weekend" and that we only had one unit left that would accommodate his family and that the weekly rate would actually be less expensive than the per night rate. He booked for one week. When he arrived at approximately 7:pm , he asked to see the room and brought three of his children with him. He saw the room and said it was fine. He left his children in the room watching tv while he registered. After signing the registration card, he said he wanted to show the room to his wife. So he left the office and brought his wife upstairs and came down and said that maybe he would look around for larger room before paying. At that point, he had already had possession of the room for about half an hour. His children had been on the beds and using the bathroom. I told him that he would be responsible for paying for the first night because he had used the room and now it would have to be cleaned and also that we had held the room for him. He agreed to stay for the week and we discussed perhaps moving him to a suite on Saturday for an additional cost. On Saturday morning, he said he might leave and asked if he would get a refund. We told him that he would only be responsible for the first night, at the nightly rate agreed upon. He went out looking for another motel room and returned about a half hour later and said he decided he would stay and wanted to move to the suite but that he only wanted to stay one more night ( Saturday). We explained to him that as per our website and motel policies, we do not rent rooms for Saturday night only and that if he wanted to stay, he would be either responsible for the weekly rate or for two more nights, (Saturday and Sunday). So his choices were, leave and get a refund for the remainder of the week, or stay for at least two more nights. He decided to stay. At that time we had him sign a statement on the back of his registration card that he understood that if he checked out before Monday morning he would receive "no refund". No one forced him to sign anything. As predicted, he came down on Sunday morning and said he was checking out and wanted a refund. I don't understand how much clearer we could have been and why this person feels so "cheated". He began pounding his fist on the desk and said he would contest his credit card and we would not "get a penny of his money". A few days after he wrote his version of the incident on trip advisor, he had a friend of his call me on the phone and offered to print a retraction of his letter if I would refund him some money. We feel totally justified in our charges to this customer as at all times was he advised of all charges for which he would be responsible, and was never forced to do anything. We have been in business for over 30 years and pride ourselves on cleanliness and good customer service but we also stand firm on our policies.

I have nothing nice to say about this motel. When we arrived the entire motel was wrecked from a huge group of drunk college kids with beer bottles, red solo cups, cigarette butts and condoms everywhere, including the pool. The floors were sticky, we couldn't even take off our shoes. We had to wear shoes the entire time. The shower was too small for a grown adult and the water was always cold. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and there was no bedspread. It is also located right across from the police station and the owner was very rude and abused having the police station so close. We decided to have a few friends stop by after we found out they were also staying in seaside. About five minutes after they came into the room, cops were banging on the door. As soon as I opened it, they barged in without our permission. They kicked our friends out. When our friends explained the situation, the owner would not listen. They kicked them out and us out. He even had the nerve to tell us "go f*** yourself." The next day we called to get a refund for the money that we paid a month in advance and he said it was non refundable. This motel is disgusting, the owner is disrespectful and ignorant, and he does not know how to treat his customers. I will NEVER suggest this motel to any of my family or friends. I don't know how it is rated #4 of seaside. This was the worst experience of my life.

This was a terrible experience. I should have known what kind of people ran this motel when the husband yelled at his wife while we were checking in. One thing you should be aware of is that these people do not allow visitors into your room. We had relatives from NJ come to visit, but they were not allowed to visit with us. They are very insulting people. Never again at the Belmont Hotel which by the way is more than one block from the beach, the pool is small and the rooms are not very clean.

Sorry I meant The Hershey Motel and its a lot cheaper
We approximately 1 block away from the beach. I'm sorry we do not take any pets.
I didn't stay in a room with a kitchen, nor know of newer rooms. My advice is to call the motel directly, as the property seems to change quickly, and the owner is easy to talk to.
in jersey the legal age to rent hotel and motel rooms you should be only 18 years old thanks
