This is a very nice hotel. It is very very clean - spotless even. The decor is modern and chic . Our room included everything you would need for a pleasant stay. We had a king bed which was huge. Everything was set up for convenience. Loved that the sink was outside the bathroom.
It was also very quiet which was nice.
The personnel were very pleasant and polite.
Breakfast was a nice assortment of omelets, sausage, potatoes, cereals, breads, muffins, fruit, waffles, juice, good coffee...

Thank you for making our stay in NJ so enjoyable!

Compared to the seedy and pricey accommodation we had in New York, this accommodation exceeded our expectations. Always a good sign! We were also impressed by the small staff working apparently tirelessly at various jobs: emptying bins, getting breakfast ready, painting the markings on the pavement outside, cleaning the pool... impressive. Pool was crystal clear and pleasant, fitness center had everything I wanted, and the gardens were super-neat. Oh! the breakfast was really memorable as well. And then lovely walks along Lake Carnegie in the vicinity, close to Princeton central.

Okay, for the most part we travel on the cheap and rely upon Trip Advisor for reviews. We don’t need a great many bells and whistles, but we do expect clean, safe, and convenient to our travel route. When we read less than favorable reviews for chains that we usually patronize in this area, we did notice the very high grades for The Hampton Inn even though we had never stayed with this well-known chain. It may have cost a few dollars more, but it was well worth it.

Me darling wife has had a stroke and we must have an ADA accessible room. This fit the bill as it had wide doorways, grab bars in the bathroom, and a walk-in shower. The room itself was spacious and both looked and smelled clean. The hotel is on Route One along side many upscale companies and institutions. Even though we stayed on New Year’s Eve, we didn’t hear a peep out of anyone and there were numerous rooms occupied.

Check-in was fast and efficient with the agreed upon reservation price and Dean at the front desk was very accommodating. They had a terrific hot and cold breakfast with an attendant on hand to replenish and sanitize. My only annoyance was the platform bed. Not only is my wife dealing with a stroke, but she is less than 4’ 10” and getting her in and out of the bed was challenging!

We were looking for something budget and closer to Trenton/Philly and our family of 4 w/2 kids stayed here in a 1 King + sofa bed room for 3 nights. The hotel is right by Route1 and has plenty of parking spaces for free. The room size was very small that when you pull out the sofa-bed there was hardly any place to even walk, we requested for 2 queens but it was unavailable. They do serve hot breakfast and the dining area could have been bit bigger to seat more people, as it was crowded and I noticed few guests patiently waiting to find a spot to eat. The king bed & sofa bed was very comfortable, while the pillows weren't. The bathroom was very odd & disgusting, as the shower head was over 8ft above I am not kidding!! (my kids were teasing that it is a waterfall). Also the soap caddies were over 5ft and my 7yr old needed help. There was inconsistent hot water in shower, I also noticed our next door guest complaining (actually yelling) for no hot water in shower. The bathroom also didn't have any exhaust vent. If this was not enough then our toilet was a mess, the flushing tank used to get water condensed and drip overnight ,we used to see some water drops on the floor. Initially we thought its the shower leaking and tried to notify the housekeeping staff but they didn't understand english, so later we just put a towel and be done with it. Also they do housekeeping only once in 2 days so had room cleaned only once in our stay. The room did have a separate bathroom sink/mirror outside (which is good) and it did come with microwave and refrigerator.
It seemed like the room was freshly renovated and I see this place could've got 4stars if not for those irritating issues.

The location is about 10 minutes from Princeton. The room was clean, large and comfortable. The Tempur-pedic mattress was comfortable, the bed had four pillows, a couple more would have been more appropriate for the king size bed. We were able to easily control the thermostat for the room temperature. Our room was located in the front of the hotel, be forewarned the traffic can be loud if that kind of noise would bother you. Otherwise, the hotel was quiet. The breakfast buffet was a 1 out of 5. The eggs were rubbery, the sausage was dry, the waffle maker was difficult to use ( it wouldn’t flip easily). The oatmeal was soup, the potatoes were stale. It is NOT what is normally found at Hampton breakfast buffet. It was poor for both mornings of our stay. The coffee/tea bar was always available with fresh coffee and its condiments. The parking lot is safe and well lit.

This hotel was amazing! It was very clean and updated. The customer service from all employees we encountered was wonderful. From the front desk to the housekeeping staff to the staff working on the contintinental breakfast, everyone was kind and helpful.

Rooms were roomy and beds were comfy. I will say that the beds are quite tall, which was fine for us, but someone older or shorter may have a little trouble getting into the bed. Our room had a microwave and fridge, and the whole room was updated and clean.

The continental breakfast was one of the best I've had at any hotel stay! There was a slight variety of things every day. There were waffles to be made every day, as well as bagels, toast, cereal, and then some form of eggs, sausage/bacon, and potatoes. There was also yogurt, milk, different juices, and water. There is also a good amount of space in the breakfast area for seating.

We only used the pool once, but it was nice! The pool itself and the area were clean, and pool towels were provided in the pool area.

We visit Princeton, New Jersey fairly often to visit family, and this will 100% be our go-to hotel from now on!

I had need of a hotel room for several weeks at the last minute for an emergency family matter. After my first hotel fell through, Hampton Inn Princeton to the rescue!

The staff were helpful, friendly, created a safe environment and checked on a few things when there were issues (at one point a neighboring guest decided to smoke in their room!).

The rooms were newly renovated and lovely to stay in.

Stellar call outs to:
- Julianna who made delicious hot breakfasts ~5 mornings per week. She wrote clear notes about what she had made for us to eat each morning so folks with food allergies could be aware. She was very kind and a delight to speak with.
- Tio who I would see cleaning the floors every morning, a particularly challenging job with all the salt and mud after a blizzard but really important to keep everyone safe with good footing on clean floors. Tio always had a smile and a kind word.

This was a really difficult time for my family but the staff at the Hampton Inn gave me a comfortable and pleasant oasis to rest and recharge for each day so I could do my best to help them. Thank you! Your smiles, kind words, and efforts made a positive difference in the lives of those around you.

Whenever I travel, I always try to stay at a Hilton property. For this trip, my family was staying at the hotel next door, and yet I selected this Hilton because I'm a loyal customer. I am also a Diamond member.

I arrived at the hotel at 11:30 pm for my stay. Unlike previous stays, I was not offered the opportunity to select my room using the app. Additionally, the ability to use my phone as the room key did not work, so I needed to stop at the front desk. I was not welcomed as a Hilton member, as I typically am at other properties. I also was not offered any of the snacks/beverages that were on display for Gold/Diamond members. I was tired, so I let this go. The front desk staff was unable to get the room key to activate on my phone, so after giving me a physical key, I went to my room.

I had reserved a room with a King sized bed and sofa. When I opened the door, I realized that they had given me an accessible room. This room had a queen sized bed and no sofa. I called the front desk from my room and expressed concern/disappointment that this was not the room that I reserved. The front desk staff told me that when you make reservations, you are only reserving that you have a room, not the type of room. I voiced disagreement with this policy, pointing out the stupidity of it, since there are different rates for different types of rooms. Also, if I were a family of 4, this new room would not meet my family's needs. Since we were only a party of 2, the hotel took it upon themselves to change my reservation. Additionally, there was no mention of this change when I checked in at the front desk.

Although the hotel was clean and the breakfast was good, I will not return to this establishment.

This was easily the best stay we’ve had in the Princeton area. This hotel was great. The hotel itself was clean and quiet. All of the staff members were polite and helpful. When we asked for a wake up call, a new key, or towels, we didn’t get hassled for our name or room number. We’re diamond members and we were thanked for our loyalty and got a very good rate. This is one of the farthest hotels from downtown Princeton, but definitely worth the extra few minutes of driving. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. We would definitely stay here again

We stayed for one Friday night. Easy check in, room was on 3rd floor. Quiet and huge room. Room was double queen with plenty of space. Hotel was warm we shut off the heat. Clean shower and towels. Breakfast was great, variety of food, muffins, eggs, waffles, fruit & oatmeal. I don’t remember the woman’s name but she kept the breakfast area clean and stocked.

Do hampton have day rates
Answer from Scott F
The Hampton by Hilton - Princeton has a check-in time of 4pm and a check-out time of 11am. Although if the room and/or room-type that you are requesting is available a few hours earlier than check-in and you may request to stay up to a couple of hours after the check-out time, this would not be what is considered a day-rate. All rooms are cleaned on the same schedule (during the day) and so any part of a day is the same as a full night. If your stay utilizes the room from early in the morning and goes past 3pm or so, there would be two night's charge (unless the hotel is slow enough at the time to make an exception. There are never charges of less than one full night's room and tax though. Please call and ask for the Sales Department if you should have any further questions.

my son is visiting princeton university. could your shuttle bring him there?
Answer from Scott F
Yes. (Most likely.) As this is predominantly a corporate market, we have a complimentary shuttle from Monday-Friday (excluding holidays) from 7am-10pm. Princeton University is one of our closest partners and we transport guests there often. Also, please be sure to have your son provide an itinerary of his travel to Princeton University to be able to check in if he is under age 21. Unfortunately, if he is under age 18, he would not be allowed to check himself in at all. A guest that is between 18 and 21 would require some form of confirmation that the travel is specifically University-related. We look forward to having your son stay with us. If you should have any further questions, feel free to contact us at 609-951-0066.
