Hotel's Favourite
We recently stayed here in mid-September, and while the weather was somewhat dreary, the hospitality was bright, cheery, and welcoming! The front desk staff - George, Ryan, Amanda, Sage - were all super helpful with local recommendations for places to eat and things to do. The room was immaculate and very well appointed. The location is perfect, just a few blocks walk to the main town for dining and shopping. We'll definitely be back!

There are so many amazing things about the Chateau, my boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights and can not wait to come back! All of the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful especially April and Amanda. We stayed in one of the luxury suites, the balcony was so nicely furnished and the room was incredibly clean and had everything that you could need and more. The Inn offers bikes for rentals which were so much fun to ride to the beach and around Spring Lake. They also offer complimentary beach chairs and towels. The landscaping around the hotel is gorgeous with so many different flowers. This place really goes above and beyond to make sure that you have an amazing stay and that you feel comfortable!

Wonderful experience from start to end. Reservationist found us a romantic quiet room with minimal notice. Room was large, spotless, and beautiful. Furnished exquisitely with beautiful bathroom, light fixtures, and large closet. Took great Covid precautions - even sterilized room keys prior to handing them to us. Parking on site. Flowers everywhere. Sage at front desk was very helpful, he even gave us wonderful recommendations to area restaurants. Can not say enough about this fabulous Inn. Will definitely return!

We were having some stuff done to our house over the weekend, so we decided to get away for the first time in over a year and head over to Spring Lake. I used to spend Easter's there as a kid at my great aunt's house, but haven't been in years. I forget how I happened upon Chateau Inn & Suites, but it I am so happy I did.
I was a bit hesitant about going away during the Pandemic, but this Inn was ready. Not just immaculate, but everything was perfectly set up for a seamless contact free stay.
We didn't want to eat indoors at any restaurants and unfortunately the weather didn't lend itself to much outdoor dining during the weekend, but the staff was happy to point out that they would be happy to receive any orders we placed and either bring them to our room our just let us get them, whichever we felt more comfortable with.
Which brings me to the staff. I have traveled A LOT both for work and pleasure, domestically and internationally and stayed everywhere from crummy business hotels to luxury spas and I can honestly say I don't think I have ever encountered a staff as helpful, friendly, capable, and just above any beyond as I did here. Times are hard right now, and I can only imagine how touch it must be to work in hospitality during a pandemic (or in general). But the entire staff of The Chateau was above and beyond in every way.
The suite (42 Monmouth Suite) was a bit smaller than I expected. It was just two of us, but if you think you want to travel with family or another couple it could be a bit cramped (its hard to close the door between the two rooms with the fold out bed opened up in the spare room). Other than that it was immaculate! Tastefully decorated (maybe would change the color of the pink bathroom), and the toiletries were great and appreciated the tiny kitchen area, and the deck was larger than I've had at 5 star resorts. They also have conveniently located ice machines and a room where you can bring food to eat and drink and also take silverware, or anything you need to eat or drink either in your room or in this dining area.
The location itself while not with much of a view is perfect for a stroll to the park across the street, the shops and restaurants in town or to view the historic houses of Spring Lake, and also a very close walk to the beach. I imagine that the location actually is much more peaceful in the summer months than if it were actually on the beach, so I wold probably prefer it.
Again, I can't stress this enough, I don't think I've ever encountered a more helpful staff in my life , and there is really nothing more I could have asked for from my first stay away from home since February 2020.
Thank you!

Chateau Inn and Suites is a fantastic way to enjoy the Jersey Shore. While parts of the “Shore” can be tacky and honkey tonk, Chateau Inn is located in Spring Lake, a charming town proud of its turn of the 20th century architecture with a well groomed boardwalk, stretching for miles along a pristine beach. Development is kept to an absolute minimum, contained to a few blocks inland from the ocean.
Our room was true to the town’s architectural heritage, yet with modern necessities including AC, flat screen TV, and a powerful shower. Our comfort was well looked after. Parking is free, and the grounds of the Chateau are kept immaculate. The staff is very accommodating, and housekeeping did an excellent job cleaning our room each day. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else on the Jersey Shore, a holiday destination I enjoyed a lot more than I expected. The warmth of the people of this part of New Jersey cannot be underestimated after 15 months of Covid isolation. It was like being wrapped in a huge bear hug. With a gorgeous coastline, the Jersey Shore is a wonderful place to rejuvenate after a terribly stressful year. Thank you Chateau Inn and Suites for cradling us in luxury.

My spouse and I celebrated an anniversary here the weekend of March 1st. We stayed in room #16 which is the Centennial Room and considered a suite. The overall vibe of the place is very good; in warmer weather there are a number of nice places to sit outside and enjoy the outdoor weather. The suite overall was good; well-appointed with sliding doors separating the bedroom from the living space. It included a wet bar, fridge, microwave, closet safe, iron/board and a small flat screen tv in the living space, with a larger one in the bedroom. A nice big comfortable king sized bed was nice. Drawbacks are the bathroom; small with just a pedestal sink with very little room to work. We used the standard (small) size Jacuzzi but two of the four jets did not work (I informed the front desk). There are blinds in the windows, but curtains would help to keep the light out and people from possibly seeing in. They use old-fashioned door keys which is cute but I’d prefer a card…the breakfast room was under re-construction but not really a distraction. They had cookies and coffee out all day (we didn’t eat there) but there was the basic Continental breakfast stuff. Oh, and the parking…forget it. It’s my opinion that there’s not a spot for each room they have there. This was the end of February and the lot was full, and the spots they have are very narrow; we had to park at the train station, however it’s only a half block away so the walk’s not terrible.
Overall it was a nice enough experience but I’d be willing to try somewhere else next time.

+1
Thats the first thing I noticed when we opened the door to our room. It didnt smell clean. It smelled sour and musty. This really bothered me.
For the price, this place is absurd.
We got a luxury parlour king. I was excited about the fireplace but there were no logs (third week in september, it was so chilly we had to use heater...) Our second floor room overlooked the parking lot. It had a nice little balcony shared with another room. It just felt bizarre to drive in and see 6 lounge chairs pushed up against the parking lot and street on the only patch of grass available (the photos are deceiving).
It is farther from the beach and shopping street than i thought it would be.
The strangest thing is that at this price point, there were no robes or slippers in the room, no bottles of water or coffee makers, no plastic laundry bag, the mattress was horrible and the smell of the room. It felt like they had never been exposed to what a fine hotel has to offer or didnt care.
Finally, they should offer a continental breakfast at this price point. They have a room for it. It would be even better if they offered complimentary glass of wine at checkin, but I know I ask for too much.
The place just left me cold. So sad.

The staff and amenities were lovely and we felt very safe staying in the middle of the week. The step into the tub/shower is sizable and water accumulates during a shower but this was a very minor issue. Our request to not have housekeeping was honored and we greatly appreciated the fridge as we brought food for our stay. There was also a microwave. Having tea, water and coffee available is a really nice touch for guests. We also enjoyed the fireplace in our room (note it is a Duraflame log not true firewood). We had no problem parking and knew we could use the train station if needed. You do hear the trains in your room. Winter is very quiet which suited us just fine and we hope to return!

I can’t wait to stay at this hotel again. The front desk attendant was so nice and welcoming. The hotel grounds beautiful and the inside very clean. Our room was on the third floor ( no elevators) but that was fine for us. Very comfortable king bed, decent size bathroom, closet and armoire. Also had a mini fridge. Outside our door was a sun deck! Off the lobby Was a beautiful room, with tables, couch, wine glasses ( for your own wine) coffee, ice tea, water and hot tea. This was wonderful after coming back from funeral, it was chilly out and wonderful to be able to get a cup of hot tea, felt like home! Everyone wore masks outside their room. Only a few blocks to beach, and a beautiful lake to walk. Love this hotel!

Because of a longer-than-expected home renovation we ended up staying at The Chateau for nearly 6 months. We chose The Chateau because it is a beautiful inn in the picturesque town of Spring Lake, NJ. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the lobby is airy and inviting with coffee, tea, lemon water and iced tea prepared every morning and available throughout the day.
What really made our stay special, however, was the staff. From housekeeping, to the front desk, to maintenance... everyone made us feel as though The Chateau was our home. I cannot possibly recommend it highly enough for any length stay.
