Welcome to the Spring Lake Inn, where European-style hospitality, history and contemporary amenities blend together for an unforgettable vacation experience. We’ve been told that our inn is unpretentious, yet elegant, inviting, yet private for those guests who need time and space to unwind. Built in 1888 as the Grand Central Stables of Spring Lake NJ, the inn is only a block from the ocean and the 2-mile boardwalk. We serve sumptuous breakfasts at your own table in the grand dining room as well as afternoon snack. Our 80 ft. Victorian porch is irresistible. Each of the 17 spacious guestrooms and suites offer all or a combination of the following luxury features: fireplace, ocean view, Jacuzzi, 4-poster bed, sleigh bed, refrigerator and digital cable TV. Fine dining, boutique shopping and spa pampering are only blocks away. Spring Lake New Jersey is one of America’s most genteel seashore towns where time can stand still at our “European Mansion by the Sea.”

Detailed Reviews
Charming, warm, clean. These are some initial descriptors that come to mind during our two-night, enjoyable stay at The Spring Lake Inn at the end of April. This bed and breakfast has a "good soul," as Innkeeper Andy said, and we felt that in its solid presence and endearing vibe. The Inn is only two blocks' walking distance to the south end pavilion at Spring Lake beach. The Innkeepers had thought of all the necessities: from extra hand towels and wash cloths on each floor to recycling bins to the available tray of wine glasses in the front foyer should you need a glass for an evening sip of wine before visiting one of the lovely oceanfront restaurants nearby. We stayed in the Moonbeam on the top floor and had a triangle window view of the ocean facing out to the Salem Avenue. The bed was especially comfortable. The home was quiet and inviting. Parking was plentiful. Breakfast was tasty with a selection of breads, fruit, yogurt, cereal and the most delicious coffee. We highly recommend The Spring Lake Inn for any short or long term getaway.

We chose the Spring Lake Inn as a place to enjoy a week of vacation and celebrate our 30th Anniversary. We were extremely happy with our choice. We found it to be very quiet and secluded since it's a block away from the beachfront. Our stay began with the owner calling before our arrival to inform us of our complimentary upgrade to the 'Turret' room which was great with views of the beach. Breakfast each morning was great with fresh fruits, yogurt, breads, cereal and coffee/juice. We loved sitting on the porch for breakfast and each evening with a coffee. A guaranteed parking spot and beach passes included with the reservation made the visit great! We found no negatives at all with our stay. We'll be back for sure.

Myself, my 5 year old daughter, and my brother stayed in two rooms on a Thursday and Friday night in May, so it really still the off-season. We really enjoyed it. The Inn is very old, so expect squeaky floorboards and a lot of old house charm. Rooms were spacious and nicely decorated and everything worked just fine. Being two blocks away from the beach was great for my daughter, and the woman working the front desk even brought in some sand toys from home to let us borrow. Coffee was served at 6:45, which is a little late for us, but we managed! The continental breakfast allowed me to feed my daughter some cereal even before official breakfast was served, so that was nice. You really cannot beat the location of this inn. We would stay there again.

We have stayed many times in Spring Lake and we thought we would give this Inn a try.
Let me start with the cons. The Inn is clean, very close to the beach and has ample off street parking. Also the continental breakfast was fresh and plentiful.
Now for the cons. We stayed in the Nostalgia room which was advertised as an HGTV renovation. Well the room did not look like the photo on the website. It definitely needs some refreshing. This room is at the base of the third floor staircase and because the door to the room doesn’t close all the way since there is a gap at the top we heard everyone going up and down the stairs. The mattresses need to be replaced as well as the linens and pillows. The small bathroom was recently renovated but the shower lacked a place to hold a bar of soap. A recommendation would to at least provide a suction cup holder so we wouldn’t have to put the soap on the floor of the shower!
In conclusion, we felt that we did not get what we paid for. We like to visit Spring Lake, but we will take our business elsewhere.

My wife and I came into town to visit family. We wanted to stay at the Spring Lake Inn because we heard through family that the owners were great folks and very involved in the Point Beach/Spring Lake/ Manasquan community.
Our stay was perfect for us. We felt like the Inn was our own house. The owner worked with us on our arrival time and checked in with us to make sure all was good. We spent a nice night in Spring Lake and felt the room was perfect for our visit. The owner greeted us at breakfast and made sure all was good with our stay.
There are plenty of options regarding rooms. We will definitely come back to the Inn and strongly recommend this location for one or two night visits off season as well as summer visits.

We checked in and went to our room, and immediately smelled mold. From the lumpy bed, worn out sheets, dirty and stained furniture we knew this was a big mistake. Went to the bathroom to take a shower,no air conditioning , mold in the shower, faucets loose and smelling of bleach. Some cheap costco pump soaps that every guest would use.We have stayed in many inns in Spring Lake but this was beyond. Left within the hour, went to lock the door and it wouldn’t work. Went downstairs to try and find a assistant and finally after knocking someone came out. The snacks were pitiful in the dining room, watered down ice tea and some cheap brownie. Nothing was COVID protocol. Will be calling charge company this morning to put in dispute. DO NOT STAY HERE!

We have been coming to this B&B for years and have noticed a decline in service and hospitality of late. Not only have the breakfasts been scaled down and the afternoon baked treats gone, but the owner didn’t even try to engage in conversation with his guests to make them feel welcome. It’s a pity as we like Spring Lake and enjoy staying at B&Bs for the cozy, homey atmosphere they provide but this establishment felt more like a cold hotel.

We apologize for falling short of your expectations. It is important to let a business know when you're there so they have a chance to make corrections or adjustments. During this unprecedented time in our history, we have adjusted our service to allow for safe distancing for all. Our guests appreciate this effort and prefer this accommodation. We now offer a breakfast table where guests can select from a variety of items at their leisure to maintain distancing. We honor special requests if possible when asked. Our morning coverage staff is in and out of the dining room during breakfast hours. We appreciate the feedback which is shared with our staff for improvements. Please call Andy for a special Thank You.

I was thoroughly satisfied staying 5 nights in this very nice inn in a very nice place with a very nice host. We stayed in the winter so we had the place literally all to ourselves but that didn't stop the gracious host and staff from taking great care of us when they were on site. Besides interesting conversations which were very helpful since we're researching the area for a possible move, Andy asked for breakfast requests and tuned up the options accordingly (which were already great to start with). The inn is perfectly located for a quick walk to the beach or an easy longer walk to town, and it's a convenient place from which to head out to the other beach towns. Our room and the common spaces were as comfortable as a nice home with plenty of comfortable places to sit. The gas fireplaces in the suite or common area are great features in the winter both for quick heat and cozy atmosphere. Internet was strong and it was easy to take a few meetings and get some digital work done. There's an easy-to-use parking lot beside/behind the building which is a great feature since we did a lot of driving around looking for parking when we stayed in neighboring towns. I'm excited to come back in the summer.

We were beyond happy with our stay at The Spring Lake Inn. The Inn exudes the history and charm of its Victorian era roots, while also providing all the modern comforts and amenities you’d expect and being very well maintained. We had high expectations going in, and those expectations were exceeded by the friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable beds, cleanliness, and hospitality of Andy, the innkeeper. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast, which consisted of mini quiches, fresh fruit, zucchini and lemon breads, croissants, bagels, and more. We would have loved an extra night, but they were completely sold out. We will be going back, for sure!

We stayed at the Spring Lake Inn the weekend of June 18. We were "greeted" by a very grumpy elderly man who was not happy to see us. The room was clean but the comforter and pillows looked old and dingy. Not sure why they can't replace these every season to make it more appealing. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. They put out a cold grab and go assortment of cheap, unappealing items including hard boiled eggs, sliced melon, store bought muffins and breads and what looked like Lenders bagels. The coffee was weak and tasteless. For a $300 a night bed and breakfast, we got a lumpy bed with old linens and a terrible breakfast. If you want to use the COVID excuse for not serving a hot breakfast, at least put out a better selection of real bagels, bakery items and a better selection of fresh fruit. Also, the rooms were not cleaned every day. If mask wearing isn't required and everything is open, then stop using COVID as a reason for the lacking service or reduce your prices until you can provide the quality of service your guests deserve. We have stayed in many B&B's, but this isn't one that I will be returning to.

Covid has not been kind to American small businesses and we are no exception. Sad to say that the Normandy Inn and Beacon House have now closed. All of our guests that come through the door are so happy to be here after being held captive for over a year. We are very excited to welcome our many regulars and positive energy new guests. There is substantial inaccurate information in this review. May has always been in season at the shore. The rate for the Tower View is $399 plus $50 for each additional guest, plus taxes of 14.625%. Your total was $776.02 and Not the over $800 listed. As many people know there is a premium to stay in this unique multi million dollar town. Unlike other area B & B's we do have some rooms for additional guests. Yes, We do have a bathroom on the first floor contrary to your complaint about having to climb stairs. We stated that it was a 3rd floor room when we took your reservation and gave you the discount. Contractors like everyone were required to stay home so we are waiting our turn. It's good to be understanding and empathetic of another workers situation. We explain everything at check in including our European breakfast table hours 830 to 10. And No, the reviews are not 5 years old. We have adjusted our operation for pristine cleanliness and social distancing. We do make the perfect hard boiled egg here according to our guests. We are The Only area place that has cereal, milk, yogurt, OJ, Baskets of oranges, apples & bananas, Italian Rainbow cookies, chocolate stuffed imported french croissants( what was listed as danish), hot coffee, 20 different tea selection, etc......left out all day. Always something available to eat or drink. Hersheys chocolates at our front desk each day as well. We engage with our guests that seem to want conversation. Perhaps I was the only one involved in the conversation that I had with your family at the coffee area. We are 1 block to the beach even when the entrance is closed off. We do not have photos of breakfast items on our website. Perhaps you were on an outdated 3rd party site. They still have operations listed that have been closed for years in Spring Lake. We always welcome fair and truthful criticism.

We stayed in the Moonbeam room the summer before last.
Located on the 3rd floor, it had character and charm with good space.
On one occasion I did bump my head on the beams, located close to the bed.
Yes it does!
It's been a hotel since the 1800's.
The Spring Lake Inn has been around since 1888. The name of the Inn isn't Lakeview Resorts
