Facility seems quite nice, staff was friendly and helpful, nice breakfast, comfortable bed, convenient location near highway intersection. Some glitches with the room, though. As we arrived the heating system did not operate at all; turned out the batteries were dead. OK, these things can happen. But the room still was in need of some repairs. Bathroom sink faucet fixtures were loose, sliding on the counter so water could leak onto the shelf with towels below, bathroom wallpaper was peeling, the curtain to the balcony had holes, there seemed to be caulking repairs unfinished around the door, with gaps where cold air was clearly coming in, coffee maker didn't work properly, reading lights did not work. I was on the fence as to whether to give a 3 or 4 rating, but the issues we noted would seem to have been fixable or preventable, so we went on the low side. We would try this place again, though.

We have booked this hotel for medical appointments both with Hotwire/Priceline and directly through Hilton. This stay we booked through Hotwire and there was a misunderstanding on the booking. Chandler was able to resolve our situation, and we were ultimately satisfied with our room. We appreciated the flexibility.

This is our go-to hotel when we travel to Basking Ridge to visit family. We had just spent two terrible nights at another Tapestry Collection hotel on the first leg of our five night trip, and arriving at the Somerset Hills Hotel was like coming home. (click on my account if you want to read my review of that nightmare of a place.) The rooms are generously sized, clean, and comfortable. All the amenities were in place and functional. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. We have been here 5 of 6 times, and we will be back many more times.

I would have requested to move rooms had it not been for my chronic illness and very limited energy. I had already unpacked when I discovered this problem and don't have energy to repack and unpack again. The cooking grease exhaust comes straight into my room on the 4th floor, via the wall AC/ heating unit. The greasy air wakes me up every morning around 4am and it aggravates my lungs. This goes on for most of the day and night, and wearing an N95 mask while alone in my room (which feels crazy and uncomfortable) doesn't help. Short of bringing one's own space heater, or fan during warmer months, I think the only thing to do is stay as far from the kitchen as possible. The driveway path from the disabled parking to the front doors is rather uneven and unpleasant for a wheelchair user. The TV in the room didn’t turn on from the time I checked in but I didn’t care enough to complain and have someone come tinker with it. The lights in the entryway and bathroom have motion detectors and turn off on their own, leaving me in the pitch dark a couple times, once while on the toilet. The water was turned off for 4 hours today and we only received less than an hour’s notice via a paper flyer under the door. Some of the front desk staff have been friendly, which I appreciated, and others indifferent/cold which was a little uncomfortable.

This was a great booking. I got it as a mystery room on Hotwire and while it was a little bit out from the NYC area I was willing to travel due to the rating being so good. It did not disappoint. The night-shift front desk attendant was especially kind and answered my numerous questions with a smile, and my room was well-decorated and clean. I was happy to see a bathtub and not just a shower because I wanted to take a bath after my plane ride. The one thing I would say for feedback, which is very minimum is that the desk surfaces are made of white marble and therefore you cannot use an optical mouse on the desk work surface - it would be great if they provided some kind of mousepad. Other than that, I really enjoyed this stay and would love to go back to this fine establishment.

Nice hotel, nice rooms. We unfortunately woke up to the smell of a dead mouse in our room. I let the overnight person know. I also let the woman at the desk Sunday morning know. It really ruined our stay. I guess because I booked through Hotwire they didn’t care to rectify the situation.

Hello Triana. I wanted to put your mind at ease. No mouse was found in your room nor were we able to smell anything. I also can report that someone was in the room the day before you and day after and they didn't report any unusual odors. I am sure you smelled something but I can comfortably say it wasn't a mouse.

We went there for a wedding. This was BY FAR the worst Hilton we have ever stayed at. The staff was not accomodationg and very rude. Our check in was 4 pm and at 5 pm the rooms were still not ready. Had the guy at the front desk been kind about it, maybe it would have been tolerable but he was nasty and rude. And, they were sticklers about checkout and would not extend, even though our rooms were not ready in time for us to go to the wedding. NEVER AGAIN

We are truly sorry Eileen we had so many early check in requests and the parties from the day before left late leaving us scrambling to quickly try to clean rooms appropriately according to the room types that arriving guests had guaranteed and by trying to be accommodating we ended up causing bigger problems for ourselves and guests arriving later. We learned a valuable lesson but unfortunately it was at some guests expense. For every guest that we made happy with early check-in we ended making many others unhappy. We truly appreciate the patience and understanding of those guests that had to wait. We hope that you could find it in your heart to give us another opportunity to show you why we are so highly thought of by the guests that stay with us.

Stayed for just one night and wish I could have stayed longer. Got a bargain deal on Priceline and was assigned a king accessible room with a balcony. This would normally be a premium room and for the price I was quite pleased. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and room was spotless. Everyone was very pleasant and professional that we interacted with. The balcony could use a flooring upgrade, as it was broken concrete tiles that were not taken care of in their renovation. The interiors and public spaces were modern, stunning and well done. Only issue we encountered was upon entering the room with our digital key, there was no power in the room. After visiting the front desk, the agent accompanied me to the room and reset the power at the outlet. Not a big deal. Even though we booked on Priceline, they had no trouble adding my Hilton Honors number to the reservation for any purchases at the property. Overall I would go out of my way to stay here again and look forward to that opportunity.

I booked this hotel last minute on Hotwire and I’m so glad I did. This is where Hotwire sent me!! I never knew this hotel was ever here.Beautiful decor inside and out!!Front desk very nice and professional.Room was clean and very nice amenities.Pool is a outdoor seasonal pool that was very nice. This hotel does not offer free breakfast but has a very good restaurant attached that specializes in Cajun cuisine.Parking is plentiful and very easy and a very nice quiet safe area. I’m a diamond member of Hilton and I definitely will be back here and book on Hilton the next time I’m in the area.

I would have given this hotel 3, instead of 6 stars because, when we called to see if we could get early check in, we were put on hold for 20 minutes & then, the front desk person who finally picked up was extremely harried, asked me to state my question right away but was also apologetic that she was as completely busy as she was. She told us there would be no early check in because rooms were still being vacated & then cleaned. When we did arrive, (we were there for a wedding starting at 5:15 which the hotel was aware), we were told that our room might not be ready until normal check in time: 4 o'clock; less than an hour before the wedding shuttle bus was leaving! Here the, is the reason for the 4 stars, not 3: I do not fault the front desk for their being so overwhelmed. This hotel really needs to hire more people for housekeeping when the hotel is aware of multiple events happening so that more rooms can be cleaned faster & more people should be hired to work the front desk so that the folks can help guests in a more efficient fashion and can answer the phone sooner than 20 minutes later. Otherwise, we thought the lobby was great for people watching, there is a great patio off of the Tap Room for hanging out, the pool could have been cleaner & we loved the view from our room (see my pictures). The hotel is clean, very busy, very large, & not far off the main highway of Route 78.
