the pictures on the website are not recent, this hotel is dirty. our room smelled like mold, the rooms were outdated, stains on the walls and ceiling looked like blood. the only staff that was nice was the lady in the laundry room out back or the hotel. the people above us was banging half of the night, the outside smelled like weed. ring the door bell after hours get no answer. over priced! wasted money. we did not have a bathtub, stand up shower that was fit for a little kid size.
First thing I will like to say this was one of the Worst motel I ever been to it’s nasty and the the man at the front desk is very Rude to me and my family his very Ignorant it’s like I seen so many other families in and out of the pool but he only has something to say to my kids but no one else I will never ever come here again one of the worst things on my vacation
We were sold on this motel the moment we met the man at the front desk (we believe is the owner). We had left another motel that we weren’t pleased with and still had another night we wished to stay. Found this motel for a reasonable price a few blocks away and decided to walk down and check it out. Met the “owner” and discussed our issues at the previous motel and he was immediately accommodating. He offered to show us one of the rooms, let me test the water pressure of the shower and look around for cleanliness and upkeep. We were very satisfied and I had showed him the price online that I saw incase that could only be booked online and he gave us that price PLUS upgrades us to his best room. He also let us park before and after our stay so that we didn’t have to worry about our car and things while we hit the beach and boardwalk. The ONLY complaints we have are that the room we got was the last one in the row right next to main road and it was very noisy with people racing by and beeping. That died down for bedtime so that’s not truly a standing complaint. The other thing that kind of stunk was the main door. You could see the daylight the full way around the door and it didn’t fit snug. We just tucked an extra towel under it to force it to snug to the door frame and that did its job. Honestly, it’s not fancy but it does it’s job. We didn’t intend on being in our room for more than to sleep and shower and that’s what the room did for us. The bathroom is completely renovated, the AC worked wonderfully and the beds were clean and comfy. I hope that despite its aged exterior that you give Skylark a chance :)…
Let me start with the minimal positive feedback. If Tony is the older gentle men there than he is the one to get answers, was very apologetic. Location is terrific. That's it!! Granted, this was the day of the Tropical Storm Isasias and they had staff who had to go to their other hotel the Brittany. Since the Skylarks' ice machine was broken, I had to go a few blocks for it. Upon entering, it was a really nice place, I don't know why the Skylark can't be as nice. We paid about $150 for the room for ONE night, thank god Now for the bad and disgusting info. As you can see from the pictures, it was absolutely unacceptable. When we arrived, there was no one in the office. "Tony" called the cell phone of the employee and told me he was on the board walk getting food. A note on the office door would have been helpful. They gave us the key and we asked for another room right away, which they were able to do. I don't see why they didn't have a system to tell the front desk that our room wasn't ready. It was a much nicer room, but nothing to write home about since the standard was so low. The bedspread and curtains are so dated it seems, I didn't put them anywhere near us and we brought our own sheets. The pool is ALOT smaller than the picture, probably 10x25' and wasn't that clean. There were many guests who hung outside their bottom floor and kids running all around (which is fine) but they played behind parked cars and were not aware when they were pulling out. All in all, needless to say we are NEVER going back there and suggest you don't either…
My family and I stayed in two rooms, upon arrival my room had a very dirty floor, the minute the kids walked in with wet feet everything was mud. And the night manager had a bad attitude because the white towels looked gray when I brought them to him. I simply told him that he had dirty floors. The entire time we were there children of the employees ran around unsupervised, screaming. At any given time there were 12 unsupervised kids jumping in the pool and running around. My grandchildren swimmy’s and toys were just taken from in front of our room. But the minute Tony was back on the premises everything would calm down. We were never offered discount tickets for the waterpark. So of course my family paid full price. It is the first time we stayed at a hotel/motel and did not leave a tip for housekeeping because it was the housekeepers children that were taking my grandchildren’s swimmers and toys and towels. We even ordered pizza and all of those children came over asking for food. I was raised not to let a child go hungry so therefore we fed the employees children. I implored Tony to control his employees. We would not stay there again and we would not recommend it for anyone else. I gave two stars because Tony himself was very nice.…
