This is a sweet, little place right across from Sunset Lake. So nice to be able to walk your dog in the park across the street and watch beautiful sunsets. Dated but clean, nice size rooms and it is quiet. The pool is nice and clean. The owners were very friendly. Down one block is Rita's which has coffee, breakfasts sandwiches, lunch, deli and some groceries. You can sit outside and eat. Nice to have that so close. We will definitely be back!
First time staying at the Red Horse booked due to it being pet friendly. Like the other reviews have stated it's dated but clean...which is a definite plus in my book. Thumbs up Red Horse! No smell of pets at all either. My only suggestion would be for the back bedroom to have an a/c in the window to better circulate the room.
The place is pet friendly and it seemed like everyone had one or more dogs. You did not hear a lot of barking and most dogs were friendly. I stayed in a 2 bedroom apt. It was clean but dated. Internet is available but did not work in the apt, had to go outside of the room. The pool was a nice plus but could get crowded because it was not too big. Because it is located across the street from Sunset Lake the views of sunsets and sunrises were awesome. Couple who run the motel are friendly and helpful.
Its great the motel is pet friendly as not many are in Wildwood or Cape May. The room was cramped with one double size bed. There was one electric socket with and extension cord. The coffee pot was on top the small microwave and the microwave was sitting on top of the little refrigerator. No complimentary shampoo or conditioner. The tub porcelain was chipped and re-painted several times. The air conditioner kept the room cool but was very loud when it was running. Sitting outside the door we sat in front of the air conditioner which was blowing very hot air and was annoyingly loud. The owner is very friendly though. The pool area was clean and the room was ok. We would return but rent an efficiency instead. They're much more spacious and cleaner.
Stayed here Summer 2014. It is definitely dated, but in a good remember the beach when you were a kid back in the 1970's kind of way. It was clean. We took an upstairs 2 bedroom apt. The weather was fairly cool so having a window unit in the living room wasn't a problem, but if it had been warmer with high dew point & humidity I probably couldn't have slept in the bedroom. The air conditioner blew right on top of you if you are sitting on the sofa. Also, the front bedroom window faces the walkway so if you prefer to keep the window open you have no privacy because of passersby. Careful when walking outside, the painted plaster or cement gets icy slick with moisture. The owner is very nice and accommodating. BEAUTIFUL sunsets over the lake across the street which you may enjoy from the 2nd floor deck. What drew us to this property is the fact that it is dog friendly. It was obviously there are many regulars who return whenever on The Crest. …
