Love this place far enough away from the craziness of the boardwalk but close enough to enjoy, easy walk to the beach, great place with kids, would definitely return, love the vintage feel, breakfast close by, nice area for kids to ride bike (or adults)...More
We had 7 people in this room, and although it was a little crammed we made it work. The staff was very friendly, and very accomodating. If we were doing a week long trip we would have stayed somewhere bigger, but for the length of...More
Had a wonderful stay. Cathy was wonderful and very friendly, organized and efficient. Pool was clean. Rooms were nice and clean and spacious. Going back in less than 3 weeks. The room had everything. We packed everything but the kitchen sink and then realized once...More
We stayed here for 4 nights and the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. We had two beds in our room and one bed was full of hair very disgusting. The only positive I can find is the AC really worked and the staff were...More
We've been coming here for only 4 years but keep coming back for good reasons. The motel is the standard L shape as many in the area but there are a couple of things that sets it apart. One, many of the rooms have 3...More

It's tough for me to answer because I don't have young children anymore. I did see young children there, but honestly I can't give my opinion on the owners demeanor towards children. I can only tell you based on her response to my honest and diplomatic review, I found her to be insulting and disrespectful to me, and my fair review of her hotel. I suggest reading all reviews. My suggestion with a large group is to rent a condo for the week, either at Monarch or Aqua Beach. They are both very close to Boardwalk, and bike rentals. Most condos sleep 6 perhaps 7, and with a large group, you can rent two, and split it between families. I know it pricey, but you can have all the comforts of home as a group, and enjoy the pools and short distance to Boardwalk. Gold Crest, although walking distance is too far from the Boardwalk, it's not a place I would have stayed when my then teenagers wanted to go to Boardwalk alone, and walk home at night. I can tell you the motel was very quiet at night, and that made it more enjoyable. If you have a noisy bunch, which you openly admit (good for you) then I'd consider staying closer to the action! Gold crest does have a concert across the street on Saturday's. I enjoyed that tremendously, and I'm sure your family would too but ages 5-18, try looking closer to Boardwalk. You wont want to be dragging the little ones home down to Gold Crest, and you'll feel better letting your 15-18 year olds chill at the Boardwalk for a little longer without the parents! Happy Finding, and Book Early!
