Drakensberg is, without question, one of the best places we ever been. The landscape is amazing, the colors were breathtaking and the peace of the place superior. The accommodation itself was ok. The overall was great, but for the price of the rooms, you should have more extras. The room was clean, although the decoration could be improved. We highly...

The good: spacious huts with a fireplace, friendly people, great place for wonderful hikes. Lunch/dinner is good. The bad: the huts are very cold even with the small heaters on wheels and the fireplace in the spring. Wouldn't want to be there when it's actually really cold outside. One pack of firewood you can buy at the store is barely...

The road up to the camp is quite dire as has been noted elsewhere on this site. Possibly unacceptable in South Africa but not the rest of the continent. The facilities though were perfect. The chalets were spotlessly clean and well equipped. They were large and roomy - all 8 of the young adults fitted into one room to watch...

We were a group of 10 friends and family that booked for the "Christmas in July" weekend on 25 July. Having heard rave reviews of this in the past I must say I was disappointed. The resort I know and knew what to expect but as far as the "Christmas" dinner was concerned there was not a gammon or turkey...

After a day out decided to visit Giants Castle for a late lunch. The road to the hotel is beyond unbearable with huge potholes. Entrance is charged at R35 pp, and this task took close on 20 minutes. I'm at a loss for words to describe the horrific service at the restaurant. We had to find a waitress to take...

We stayed at Giant’s Castle resort 9/6-12/6/2015 in a mountain view chalet and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view is simply spectacular. The chalet was comfortable, well equipped and it was lovely having a roaring fire in the fire place. There is a two plate cooker and a microwave oven with grill function – more than adequate for a holiday....

The mountains are nice ... the rest isn't. From Escourt to the camp the roads are full of deep potholes, roaming animals and people and they are narrow. It takes about 1 hour to get there from Escourt driving through all the squatter camps. A very depressing ride. At the Giants Castle restaurant the food is bad. It tastes like...

My partner and I chose to stay in a mountain view chalet and absolutely loved having a braai in the evenings while watching the sunset over the mountains. The extra bucks were worth it for the view. The surroundings were breathtaking. There's nothing like hiking all day in the silence of nature and then coming "home" right there in the...

The chalets in this park are well maintained and very comfortable. We chose a mountain view chalet and the view was beautiful. Only small problem would be for older folk who may not necessarily like to park a bit away from the chalet and climb a small hill to get there. Could be a problem with carrying bags etc. There...

This was our second visit in 6 months. This time we stayed in a mountain view chalet. What a treat to wake up and see this beautiful panorama of rugged mountains from your bed! The weather was perfect the 3 days we stayed, allowing us to hike extensively. The chalet is well equipped for self-catering, we went to the restaurant...
