My business travel required me to stay here. We stayed one night and used a conference room the next day. The room in the river suites was fine. Warm with under floor heating and air con heating. Beautiful view. The breakfast spread is great and...More
We stayed here for a business conference, and the hotel was superb.
Warm hospitality, very nice and cosy rooms, and they have a turn in service to prepare your bed at night before you sleep. It was a very nice surprise to get back from...More
Coming from a South African, I'd always wanted to stay at La Franschhoek Hotel and Spa and my stay lived up to my expectations! Lovely staff, beautiful setting, gardens, breakfasts, rooms and location.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and no doubt that we will...More

Franschhoek is one of our most favourite destinations and we must have visited at least 15 times over the past few years. The reason for the frequent visits is the consistent high standards of accommodation, food and wine and it's unfortunate to say this has...More
Having stayed at the hotel a few times in the past I was very pleased to see the upkeep of this fantastic property.
Chris Snyman and his team were friendly and helpful as usual. Le Verger was closed due to maintenance but the change and...More

Hot and cold dishes available at breakfast: fruits, cold meat, cheese, cereal, yogurts - as well as such expected hot foods as eggs, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, sausages (western expectations). Plenty of bread varieties and fresh pastries. Fruit juices, tea, coffee.
Lunch menu a little disappointing: mostly sandwiches, burgers, salads. A good time to go and eat in the village of Franschhoek.
Dinner (at Dish Restaurant) is well served and of high class. Meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. Nothing particularly exciting, but all extremely well cooked, flavoured and presented. Such ingredients as Cape salmon, calamari, chicken, duck, lamb (which I found vey good), steaks; pasta, vegetables. Various desserts.
A good wine list (of South African wines) with a wide range of wines by the glass.
