Just off the main street but walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants makes La Fontaine perfectly located. The room was large and well appointed and comfortable. Though the weather was cool, the room was not cold. Breakfast was great and we were made welcome.

Many thanks for your review. A warm welcome should always be on top of ones list in the hospitality industry as it is the first and lasting impression. Breakfast at La Fontaine is fresh and plentiful to start the day on a good note. The location of La Fontaine is one of its many strong points! We hope you will...

This bed and breakfast is ideally located in Franschhoek. It is minutes away from the center of town. The room was clean, the staff gracious. The hosts offer a continental breakfast in the morning, otherwise meals are taken at the local restaurants. In the center of wine country, there are 47 vineyards nearby. Wish I had time to sample all...

Hi there, thank you for your review. One night is certainly not enough time to explore the vineyards to "drink in" the amazing scenery, the great wines and dine at the superb restaurants. La Fontaine's proximity to the town is such a plus factor - almost like being at a one-stop open air shopping centre in the middle most beautiful...

We spent 2 glorious nights at La Fontaine in Franschoek . It is absolutely blissful. They have thought of everything to make a thoroughly pleasant stay. Thank you especially to Dawn who kindly organised everything for us to maximise our enjoyment of our visit to Franschoek. Your best stay - our best review!!! Many thanks for your sincere, great review. Just a note on the heating in the garden suites. All the garden suites have wood burning fireplaces; wall heaters and aircons that turn into heaters. To conserve electricity, we only switch on the aircons a short while before booking in time. They take a very...

As 2 couples we stayed here for 3 nights in the middle of our holiday. The rooms are large and cosy, with comfortable huge beds. The hotel is in a quiet street but only minutes walk away from all the shops and restaurants. Kathy and her staff were most helpful with advice on things to do and places to eat....

Thank you for your review. The best advice is from the locals! Richard and I have been in the Franschhoek Valley since 1982 and seen an amazing transformation from a one horse town to what it is today! If guests are departing early before our breakfast time then we ensure that we pack them a healthy picnic breakfast to help...

Kathie and her ladies were wonderful. La Fontaine is a quiet guest house close to the town centre which delivered everything we could have asked. Wheelchair accessible, and Kathie even went to the effort of finding suitable shower stools for the shower facilities. Breakfasts were wonderful and her husband a source of knowledge for trips we wanted to make. Once...

Thank you for your kind review. We are fortunate to be able to offer a variety of room types at La Fontaine. The Orange Family suite can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children; garden suites; olde world rooms in our Victorian section. Breakfast is an important meal to help you kick start the day. Nice old fashioned room with living area that was bedroom for our teenage kids, we had the bedroom! Clean and quiet, well run hotel lodge. Staff and management were helpful and hospitable making our stay restful while we enjoyed the many vineyards closed by. Room had a log burner that was a welcome thing for August nights in South Africa....

Thank you for your review. The Orange family garden room is ideal for 2 adults and 2 children and is set in a peaceful garden with ample privacy. The unit has air conditioning and fans so there is no problem with the heat in the summer. It also has shrubs and trees to offer sufficient shade to keep it cool....

Our second stay at La Fontaine, 5 years apart, and still excellent. We have stayed in the Lemon suite and Lavender suite now - both very cozy with their own log fires. Lemon suite slightly better as more spacious for longer stays. Location is great - walking distance to everything Franschhoek has to offer. Absolutely no downsides at all.

We are a family of four who stayed in two of the "garden" rooms in August.
