What an oasis in the middle of the Karoo! Megan and her husband grow various crops and fruit. Visitors are welcome to collect it from the garden. The rooms are clean and cool (even on a very hot summer's day). Complete with farm fresh milk from Gay's dairy. We loved the homemade furniture and decor. Would definitly recommend it to... More

Rustic Luxury! All you need for selfcatering plus some extras. On location produced jams, chutneys, sauces and fruit nectar displayed for sale on museum piece shelves. Lovely decor and pictures from the area make you feel at home! My immediate thought.... We should have stayed longer. A huge garden with market quality fruit and veggies, to be picked for own... Karoo Khaya is really an oases in the shadow of the majestic Swartberg Mountains. Host Pete Reinders made us feel pretty welcome and showed us around his premises where we met all the other "inhabitants", even the two-day old lamb and its mum! We were even granted access to his lush veggie-garden, should we need something for the pot! Our... More

Friendly staff, quirky touches like you can pick you own veggies from the garden, this I thought was great. Clean fresh linen which is most important to me. The room a bit dark, no soaps or shampoo or wifi which was a problem. But a lovely stay. Nice walk into town. Lovely Braai area, but we did not Braai.

We really enjoyed our stay at Karoo Khaya. It is comfortable, clean and has everything one needs. The best was the mosquito net over our bed!! The hosts makes one feel at home and there is a vegetable patch which is 'open' to guests and one is free to pick.

What a surprise when we arrived at Karoo Khaya, Megan our host was waiting for us and with a welcome smile. The inside of the unit was tastefully decorated with interesting pieces. The gardens were beautiful and so tranquil to sit and have your first cup of coffee. Megan we will definitely be back to explore the town fully as... More

Karoo Khaya is well located ..a short walk into 'town'. The rooms are spacious and all have interesting decoration .. many made from farm tools an implements..easy to feel 'at home' here. Prince Albert is a gem. Almost caught in a time warp, it has a combination of centuries-old buildings coupled with modern comfort. Karoo Khaya is just off the main road a couple of blocks down from the main centre of town, but really everywhere in this town is within walking distance of everywhere else. We loved the ambience and the... More

Karoo hospitality as none. Megan was able to help us at the last minute with accommodation and went out of her way to make us feel at home and even supplied us with farm fresh milk. Lovely little cool off pool after a long dusty day from the Tankwa. Love the homemade products bottled from their own property. Would suggest... More
