Two things happen when you approach the Good Hope Farm. As you approach you are blown away by the view of the farm (See photo!)- AND - you also immediately loose any connectivity with the outside world, which is a lovely thing! If you are permanently tethered to your phone, ipad or such, then this might not be the place...

Every year for the last nine years a group of friends most of whom are over 70 get together for a week of cycling in different areas of South Africa. We spent the first two nights of our tour this year in the Mountain Cottages at the wonderfully secluded and remote Good Hope Farm where our hosts Taryn and Tienie...

Our group of 7 ladies stayed at this tranquil farm for a weekend to celebrate a 40th birthday. The Dam Cottages are rustic but clean with awesome showers! The communal kitchen/dining/socialising area is lovely. The fact that there is no cellphone signal means a very welcome break from technology. We did a little run on the Saturday morning and thoroughly...

My family and I stayed at GHFC from the 14th December - 19th December 2016. A party of 8. We stayed in the protea cottage and the lavender cottage. We loved the rustic feel, the view of the vineyards and mountains. My 3-year-old daughter thoroughly enjoyed the farm animals especially the beautiful white horse and donkey and their inseparable friendship...

I am sitting on the stoep at home and am going to tell you about another stoep we had the pleasure of enjoying time on, last weekend in Robertson. That stoep was attached to Dam Cottage E on Good Hope Farm, 45 kms outside Robertson… It all started on Friday the 30th of September with the car full of people...

After a long road trip our last stop before home was in Robertson at the Good Hope farm! What an amazing setting, with a majestic mountain back drop and acres of farmland we sat on our terrace enjoying the spectacle of little groups of piglets grazing and playing in front of us! What fun! Our little cottage Lavender cottage had...

Love the owners Taryn & Tienie, Always helpful, willing and accommodating. The farm is a piece of heaven. The hiking dogs are awesome and always feel safe hiking alone with them. Love the pool, the views, the absolute peace and quiet. No cell phones, radio, tv, just the birds and the wind. A true respite from city life and my...

Goodhope Farm is a great place for a week end break or even more days if you can spare it and all very worth it. We stayed at the Dam cottages and was really not expecting what we got, basic but nice accommodation overlooking the dam. We booked all 5 cottages as the family is massive so we had the...

We stayed in the mountain cottage which was perfect as we were 3 adults & 1 child great double bed and twin beds. Then there is the communal space with a swimming pool, spend most of the weekend just relaxing by the pool area. My daughter enjoyed all the animals and the open space. Breakfast was brought to our cottage...

We had a fantastic time at Good Hope Farm (booked 3 of the Dam cottages, early September). The kids (aged 3) had a great time feeding the chickens, collecting eggs, bottle feeding the lamb, joining us for a row on the dam and seeing all the visitors at the cottages. The 2 pot-belly pigs, Black Jack the dog and a...
